Android :: Install Apps From Home Computer
Jun 3, 2010i have apk files on my home computer. once i usb connect my verizon droid 2.0 i mount it. where do i click and drag my files to put them on the micro sd card. do i put the apk file in the root folder, the "android" folder or the "downloads" folder. it seems easy but i cannot seem to get the apps from my home comp. to my droid. thanks

I try a couple of times run SDK manager.exe from android-sdk-windows package, but I can't install Android platform 2.2 and android platform 2.1 version. Oct 22, 2010So the other day I went to download an app out of the market. The download finished, but it seems my phone decided to auto-reboot itself in the midst of the installation. After the reboot completes, I go back to the market, reselect the app, and it's hung at "Installing..." (And when I say "hung," the market is still fully functional except that one app). I'm given no option to cancel the installation. Killing the market app then trying to go back in has no effect - same deal. Hung on install. Another reboot didn't help.
Is there any way to delete the install package and make the market forget I even tried in the first place?
It's Angry Birds (wanted to see what all the fuss was about), but the install seems to have failed in a way that any app install could have failed.

The Remotecall app in Playstore still requires me to pick up my phone in order to actually hear something..
its got all the other features i'd like to use: answer calls from my PC, make calls from pc (from , for example, the outlook contactlist), call Log capability; but i have to pick up my phone when i probably can just hear it through my headphone (connected to PC)
I think i should be looking for some sort of voip server on my phone and let my computer act as voip client, but i'm not entirely sure about that.

Only thing I really use the computer for netwise is downloading torrents which I can do when I get a 32gb card and for listening to music which I can already do. Still, I'd like to have the web browsing and keyboard features and whatever. I want the net on the computer. what is the best way for cheapest? I really don't want to tether with sprint.

There is one app that i have uninstalled but doesn't delete from the download list and i want to see where it is located on the phone that way i can delete it/modify it myself. 2.2 isnt out yet so i know its not gunna be on the sd card.... Jun 16, 2010I have solved the problem of the phone not connecting to the computer! Just needed to buy a new DCU 100 cable for the darn thing! Big thanks to Toe-cutter who was very patient with both my lack of knowledge and of patience! I'm looking for some help in connecting my Hero to my computer. I haven't has problems until today but now I can't get the darn phone to connect. I have tried my work computer (Windows XP) and my home computer (Vista) and I have also tried four different usb cables, including the HTC one. I have also done a factory reset, taking the battery out and anything else I can think of including reinstalling the drivers & HTC sync If anyone can help I'd appreciate it - I need to be able to sync my phone to my calendar for work. Oh, by the way - I am not in the slightest way technically competent!

May 23, 2010This is the fastest way that I know of right now to get a web page displaying on your PC in a browser to your phone. You will need the following applications; Either Google Chrome and QR-tag extension generator(for Chrome), or Firefox and QR-tag extension generator(for Firefox) , and this one for your phone Barcode Scanner v3.3 Application for Android you don't have to use this app there are many others out there(doesn't have to be an Incredible phone either). It should be pretty easy to figure this out now that you see the apps involved but I will explain. First is the obvious, you need to get all apps installed and running on both pieces of hardware. Second when you are on the web page you would like to take with you you simply click on the QR-Code app in your toolbar of Chrome and it will display a QR-code then open your QR-Code reader on your phone and line up the QR-code in its sights. Then simply select web browser and your there.

I am also wondering if I hard reset my phone back to factory default, will all the apps, etc that were there out of the box, still be there? If I can sync with my computer, can I put my contacts back on from my computer? And, finally, there is a "notice" type "bell" sound every so often on my phone, but I have checked messages and phone calls as well as email, plus there are no notifications at top...what might it be? Oct 6, 2010I keep having this minor problem when usin msn talk on my galaxy s, nothing really big but anyhow. When I log in with my phone it changes my display name to something that I can change on my phone, but because I can't get any really special characters to work (well actually just one, D with a stroke) I can't get the same name on my phone as my normal msn on computer has. Okay well I could live with that, but when I log off from my phone it doesn't revert the change but it changes the display name on my computer's msn too! It gets really annoying to change my display name every single time I log in with my computer. And it does the exact same thing with my personal message. So the question is, can this be prevented in any way? ps: does anyone know how I can get that stock sms app to mark every sms as "read" when I've responded?

Oct 21, 2012i got an S3.. and my computer has xp pro. i had to restore my computer recently from a saved image of my system. before i restored my computer, i was able to connect my S3 to it via USB with no problem. but after i restored it, i'm unable to.
i downloaded and installed the MTP driver, which got my computer to recognize my phone before i restore it. but now its not working and i dont see it listed in Device Manager. whats weird is that when i connect my S3 to my computer, the phone doesnt give any notifications that the phone is connected to USB like it used to before. and it also doesnt give me the 2 options of connecting by either MTP or Camera. all it does is charge my phone.

HTC Hero :: Phone Keeps Rebooting - Connect To Computer
May 3, 2010i rooted my phone around a couple weeks ago, and have been trying different types of roms. Today i decided to switch to the fresh2.0d rom and so i placed the zip folder in the root of the sd card. i booted in recovery and selected flash from zip. Once complete, my phone keeps rebooting at the "HTC Quietly brilliant" screen. It does it over and over again. i tried reflashing, taking out the battery and nothing happens. I cant connect to the computer and have no idea what to do.
