Jun 9, 2010Picked up my HTC EVO on the 4th, and had Sprint order me the HDMI cable. Came last night. Tried to hook it up to my 37" 08' Samsung LCD HDTV, but was only getting AUDIO through to the TV, no VIDEO? I tried all three HDMI outlets on my LCD HDTV but got the same result on each one? Anyone know whats going on here? Anyone else experience this? Anyone have success trying to do what I was trying to do?

My Dx is in the mail and was wondering if I should buy a cable because I want to use it to stream youtube or other video content from the phone to tv. If it can not be done now, is that a hardware issue or a software issue that could be changed later? Also so I can control the phone while it is connected to the tv I wanted to get a 15' cable. Sep 16, 2010I just received a micro hdmi an wanted to know what is the best settings for just connecting my DroidX to my tv to watch dvds? Do I skip the converting process altogether an just make sure that the video that I burned from a dvd can be played with the Droid X media gallery while connected to hdmi? I have converted some dvds (Super Troopers) for optimal playback on the Droid X but when I watch that video through HDMI it really isn't the best quality. I have used DVD Catalyst.

Oct 29, 2012I have an old TV with a DVI connection - I have put an HDMI Convertor on it and it woks fine with my laptop - so with a laptop I output the video via the HDMI cable to the television and stick an audio cable in the headphone socket and get the sound through my hifi.
Someone tried it for me just using a HDMI to HDMI and no sound came from the headphone jack however I wondered if because mine was not "true" HDMI it might work? Will an android tablet do this?

Sep 7, 2013I've noticed that none of the new phones coming out have HDMI out on them anymore. I've got a Razr Maxx that I'm looking at replacing and was looking at the new Droid Maxx but I'm concerned about the lack of HDMI out. I'm a boater and have a TV on my boat. I connect my Razr Maxx to my TV with a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable and watch Netflix when I'm on the. I'd hate to give that up but also realize that my Maxx won't last forever.
Any new phones that do have HDMI out?

Sep 3, 2010Don't know if anyone else is having this problem but I just tried the HDMI feature out today and it froze my phone completely (couldn't lock the screen or use the screen at all), had to remove the battery. Happened twice so it wasn't one of those freak occasions. Any advice?

Nov 15, 2010I've been a member for a little while, but until now I've been able to just search and find answers to my questions. However, for this issue I can't seem to find anything. I bought a micro HDMI cable, and it works great when I play videos that I have recorded. However, I am not able to play movies and TV shows that I download and play with Rock Player. I've tried a bunch of file formats, and I haven't been able to play any of my own videos without Rock Player. That doesn't really matter to me as it still works fine. But, I would like to be able to plug in the HDMI cable and play a movie on a TV, but when I try, it just plays on the phone screen. So has anyone been able to play their own movies on a TV with the HDMI? Can anyone provide some input here?
