I am having a little texting problem. I have the everything data plan so I have unlimited texts. My problem is when I send texts the person I am sending to gets it but I am not getting their reply.Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Unless it is just my settings, when I text I can send a text and receive a quick reply and can reply back and forth. However, if I back out of messaging (go to main screen to any other app) the reply that I receive has lost the area code prefix and my replies will not be delivered. All my contacts have been entered with the 10 digit number but like I said, if I leave the messaging session after my first send, the contact number is truncated to 7 digits.

I got an Android device specifically for Google integration, since my employer uses Google for 50% of our work (email, calendar, chat). Yet bizarrely, Android's Gmail app seems to be the weakest point of their platform.
IMHO (and please not let this become some kind of fanboy bashfest of someone trying to put in constructive criticism here):
The "Reply," "Reply All," and "Forward" buttons are very inconvenient -- at the bottom of the message, rather than a toolbar of some kind. This means that when I want to respond to one of those interminable email chains, I have to scroll past wads of old crap to reply. I've had intermittent success with forwarding attachments. It seems unpredictable when an attachment will forward and when it won't. Can someone shed some light into when it works? I suspect it has something to do with Outlook or other clients that attach files in non-standard ways. Very limited offline functionality. I would really prefer if there were an IMAP mode so I can review email while offline (e.g. on the plane or underground). Specific to the Droid: The D-Pad has so much potential, but instead all it does is jump from link to link in an email, which I do not find intuitive at all. At a minimum I'd think that the D-Pad would let you scroll; ideally, I'd like to see the D-Pad help solve the first problem described above (lack of access to the reply and forward buttons) so enough whining from me. I'd appreciate any solutions to the above (and "Shut up and deal with it" is not appreciated). It could be keystroke shortcuts I'm not aware of, apps that work better than the default Gmail program, pending app updates that take advantage of the Droid's unique hardware, etc.
I just recently bought the Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate and I updated to ICS this morning.The update worked fine with the exception of my text messaging.Every text I try to send fails. If I go into the details of the text message it says

I have several issues with Sprint. Dropped calls mainly, sometimes 4-6 times during one conversation.My main irritation right now is that if I'm in the text screen or any messaging screen for that matter and I get a call my phone screen goes black and I can't answer it. It won't even let me silence the ringer.I love all of the things that this phone does, the whole android deal is awesome but lately I am seriously missing my blackberry.Will rooting help ANY of these issues or is that a waste of time?I have already watched the tutorials and written down the steps, just such a noob I'm scared. I will try it if it will help any of these issues though.

I can't send a text message, and whenever I attempt to send a message, it simply comes back saying "Message Not Sent". It is highly frustrating.I have been into the Phone Information, under Testing, and it says that my GSM Disconnects is inactive, and the fail is because No Error. This is frustrating and I have no idea how to fix the Problem.This is my last resort before I call my service provider and see what I can do, and I would much rather solve this myself.Any help would be highly appreciated,
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted T-Mobile Galaxy Note II running its stock 4.1.2 ROM (Eww, TouchWiz. I know). Whenever I text my mom through the stock messaging app, it looks like it went through on my end, but she does not receive the message. She's on an AT&T Galaxy S3 running stock 4.1.2 and also uses the default messaging app. I even get a delivery report on my end when I have the option enabled.
Here's where it gets interesting: she can send and receive texts fine to all her other contacts, and I can with mine as well. My girlfriend is on the same carrier and plan as me and has no issues texting my mom and I have no issues texting my dad who is on the same carrier and plan as my mom. There's something uniquely wrong with the way our two devices interact.
We have both rebooted our devices, cleared the app as well as system cache on both devices and deleted and re-added each other as contacts, all to no avail.
I'm having some problems downloading MMS's ppl send me, when my phone trys to download I get the error "unable to download, transient error" The messages are only 200kb is size and my phones set to receive up to a 600kb MMS. I have tried ringing Telstra & HTC both couldn't help me, and I have just Factory reset my phone and still no good. Here is my current mms settings:

Alright so today for some reason when I replied to, I would get an error message saying that It was unable to send. So I had to delete my email address and re install it. Now it doesn't update once I receive the emails or make a sound.. I have it so it supposed to but still does not. Anyone know what to do about this and how to make send/receive as soon as it comes not every 5 mins?

my device is rebranded chinese made phone running 4.1.2 Andromax ULE
and it has been rooted and installed with CWM, last time i know, there was no problem with bluetooth...
so for past 5 days i was searching any possible way to fix bluetooth problem not turning on, but with no luck...what i have done, are...
- reboot [not working]
- factory reset [not working]
- flash other custom rom via cwm [still getting bluetooth not turning on]
- flash stock rom via stock recovery
- flash a raw image [download mode] with HDD RAW COPY then change the correct imei and meid [still the same problem]
after all the above step....only BLUETOOTH not working...here is a log :

My phone has worked without a problem till last nite. I had a few texts and calls early eve with no issues at all then later on when I tried a text it kept giving me a 'message not sent' message? At first I thought it was an Orange issue so didn't worry too much but this am it's still the same? On doing a bit of investigating I have found I can no longer make calls either. If I try it it doesn't even get too a dial tone it just beeps and returns to the initial call screen.
The phone is showing full signal strength? When I go too call settings>additional settings it shows 'network or SIM error'. I have put my SIM into another phone and it works fine and another SIM that I know works into my Desire and have the same issues so it must be the handset. What do you lot suggest? If I do a factory reset will I loose all my photos etc. from my memory card? Or could I just un-mount it and then reset?

I've been using my HTC Desire without a problem but for the last couple of weeks I have been getting unable to send notifications when sending texts. This can be almost instantly after hitting the send button. I'm on three. My friend has the same handset and he is on oange and is getting the same thing so is this a handset thing or are we both doing something wrong. If you leave the desire to do it's stuff it will send it. On other occasions it goes no problem.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI seem to have an intermittent error when trying to start WiFi. Mostly (>95%) of the time I get "unable to start WiFi". Occasionally it works but this is rare and usually when it has been switched off for a few days. The problem occurs when I try to start via the wi-fi widget or via the MenuSettingsWireless controls path. I'm reluctant to do a factory reset unless I really have no other option.

This is the first (and only) time that I have try to root my phone (with the AAHK). After alot of reading I managed to ROOT my Desire HD and it says S-OFF.
The problem is that I am not able to install a costum ROM. I have tried the following roms:
1. Android_Revolution_HD-4G_6.3.3
2. TrickDroid_v2.0.0_C2
And I allways get the same error. It says status 0. I found in some other threads on XDA-devoloppers that the problem is: "Wrong update-binary".

I followed the above instructions and was able to connect and syc no problem, but I am unable to connect to the internet with the lap top and getting an Error message on the phone Data Call Failure Error Code 67. egistration failure. I have handcent, but get the same error message with stock messaging app.
The only things I could find within the incredible forums was that it may be linked to a app bug, which that specific app I have never used, or this is a known HTC error which I can't confirm.
I thought this phone was going to be great, especially coming from 4 instincts (btw, the last one was working just fine, finally) I was just getting tired of it and really like the options the Hero offered and when working, it's great. I am getting this error message:

It is not allowing me to use the phone at all, it says no service. Even the sprint website has my phone greyed out as if it don't exist. Now if I do a hard reset, everything comes back on, but I lose everything. This is my second Hero and I am hoping that there is a fix. I went to HTC email support site to try and get a solution and it is down, getting really frustrated with this phone. I downloaded apps from the market and transfered music to the sd card.
Did a fresh install of Eclipse, JDK and android-sdk.

I have created the Client-Server application. At the Server site i have used the AIDL to impliment the interfaces in my Service class. At Client site i have exposed the AIDL interfaces and have one Activity that mainly do the IPC mechanism , i mean ServiceConnection, bindService and then call the Serivce of the Client site. But i am getting the error i mentioned during the bindService call.
Could you please let me know the steps mainly i have to follow to run the Client -Server Application. For time being i am running the Client .apk first and then the Server .apk, but the server one giving me error.
It would be great if you could let me know what all permission short of thing to take care, as my Client and Server code are placed at different APks, so do i need to import the Client project in my Server Project, if yes then how to impliment that.
When I try to upload a video to youtube I get the same error every time, "unable to retrieve account information" I am logged in on my phone and i get all the way to the point where I'm ready to hit upload, but when I hit it, it IMMEDIATELY says "unable to retrieve account information". Any ideas, tips? I've also tried going through QIK, but it doesn't seem to be working either, it won't let me even select Youtube because it doesn't think I've set up the sharing for it, but I have.
