I have not been able to download and or install the new beta I get a screen size error, or a this is not a android phone what do I need to do short of a factory reset to get this working I also have a issue with my hand cent all my incomming text revert to the stock messaging even tho hand cent is selected as the default what gives with this phone lately

I got an email this morning about the release of a new swype beta. I followed the directions and when I try to change inputs an error message pops up stating the screen resolution doesn't match. Anyone get this email and the error? I made sure I uninstalled my previous swype before installing the new one.

I am running xtrROM 4.2.1, and I can successfully install 1.60, but when I try to use it, I get this message:"The Swype package you installed does not match the screen size of the device. Please contact Swype about this issue. Screen size: 320x480)"I was able to use 1.56 fine on xtrROM 4.2.1, just installing 1.60 seems to be giving me issues.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having some problems downloading MMS's ppl send me, when my phone trys to download I get the error "unable to download, transient error" The messages are only 200kb is size and my phones set to receive up to a 600kb MMS. I have tried ringing Telstra & HTC both couldn't help me, and I have just Factory reset my phone and still no good. Here is my current mms settings:

So i am trying to get the screen size of the Moto Droid on my application. on my Create, i am using the Service windowManager to get the default display. code...
When i set it i get width of 320 and height 570. that looks wrong, it should be 320x480.
i want to place a 300x50 image on the bottom of the screen on any device (actually) so normally i would get the height of the screen and minus the image height so it places it on a view. but since i am getting 570 for some reason, i have to scroll down to see the image. why is it getting the wrong screen size and is there another more accurate way of getting the size. code...
Basically every single time I lose service, which I do every day because my campus has bad reception, this message stays until I turn the phone off and back on. How do I get rid of it?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI use a Note 2, and was able to install apks perfectly fine until this afternoon, now i'm unable to click "install" , it isn't greyed out or anything. I know screen filter and similar apps have a bug which doesn't allow you to click install, so I disabled and uninstalled them just to be sure.
I'm on stock 4.1.2, no software updates of any sort in the last month,weird it suddenly stopped allowing me to install apks
Able to install apps from the play store otherwise.
Edit- Also rebooted several times, and tried installing apks i've installed before, no dice And I do have unknown sources checked.
May sound like a dumb question, but how do I install Swype? It's not on the Marketplace. I went to the web site of the company to do a manual install-no where to download it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got my Droid an hour ago! That means I don't really know what I'm going. I installed Astro. I downloaded the Sype Beta to my PC and unzipped the files. I copied the unzipped folder to my SD card. Astro finds the folder, but I can't figure out how to install it?!? I see the Astro options at the top, but install is not one of them. I'm sure the answer is obvious, but I'm blinded by my new toy right now.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

The instructions on the various pages I've found simply state "Transfer the package file to your SD card." Okay, great. So uh, how does one go about doing that? When I plug the Evo into my computer as a disk I'm not seeing any folders that look like they could be the SD card's storage. So how does one move files to it?

Under touch input>keyboard types, I only have 3 options Qwerty, Phone Keypad and Compact Qwerty. One of them has to be selected. Anyway, even with the Swype box selected, the qwerty keyboard still shows up on any screen where I enter text. I went through the Swype tutorial and know that its installed, I just can't seem to activate it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am designing a home screen widget. I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels.Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device.I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with installing an apk of size 72 MB onto devices like Samsung Galaxy i7500 and Nexus One. The entire size of the application is 256 MB. The devices have enough memory say 600MB on samsung galaxy. But still it does not install saying there is insufficient storage. Do the apk file gets uncompressed to the size of application after installing. I mean if I am installing this 72 MB apk does it take 256 MB space of application. Does it work somewhat like a .zip file? Please give me a solution as to why even after having enough memory I cant install the apk?
