Jan 10, 2010I can not figure out how to change my text message ringtone, The ringtone for my text messages will not change not matter what I try. I have tried going into my text message main screen - menu - notification - ringtone BUT this puts the new ringtone on and does not turn off the old ring tone. I have tried changing my notification ringtone in the app Ringdroid and that changes everything but the text messages.

Oct 3, 2010My HTC Desire seems to have stopped singing the "tik tik" sound (the sound when you clicked on any program).
In Settings -> Sound Settings -> Feedback
I have them all checked, but for some odd reason, I still didn't get the sound.

Android :: Save Sound As Ringtone And Notification
Oct 12, 2010I'm saving a sound from my app to be used as a ringtone or a notification sound. Here's part of my code, taken from this page:

My understanding is that the sound will be saved as well as a ringtone, a notification sound and an alarm, as the flags are all set to "true". At least on the emulator this does work but on the actual device, the sound only shows up in the ringtone list, and I have no idea why.
I've tried to investigate further: removing the line with "IS_RINGTONE" won't change anything (in case only one flag can be used at a time), the sound doesn't show up in the list with the notification-sounds.

May 17, 2010Back when I got my phone, I transfered an MP3 from the computer to the SD card and selected it as ringtone. it is still there and still works.....but now, after the OTA update, when I go into settings/phone ringtone this sound is not on the list. How do I get it back?
Also, under notifications, in the list of sounds the ones on my SD card are not there. I have a sound stored on the card that I would like to set as the notification. I mounted the card to my computer to verify that these files are indeed on the SD card. The phone just isn't seeing them in the list of available sounds...but, they do play if I go into MP3 or Music app.

Nov 21, 2009In my car I am currently using a cassette adapter plugged into the earphone jack. Two things I noticed.
1) When listening to audio (panda) Nav cuts out the music and speaks it's direction extremely louder than music was playing. Anyone know if there is a seperate setting for the Nav's volume?
2) When listening to panda and I receive a call, panda goes silent but there is no ringtone. at first i thought panda was buffering but when i looked down at the phone I had an incoming call. Normal? Did I dumb thumb something?
I don't think it would be a big problem when it is in the car dock but I haven't used it. On the windshield it's too far away and my car doesn't have any flat surfaces close to the driver. Last thing, with this setup phone call audio comes through the car speakers and with phone on the passenger seat my caller said the call clarity was better than my last phone.

May 22, 2010I have installed Hand cent for handling my SMS Instructions advise turning off default, but cant see how on the Desire? I am quite disappointed with the phone so far as it has too many niggles, the biggest being not able to auto answer calls, which makes it useless with my �200 Parott hands free. Oct 23, 2008So you want some cool ringtones but the music you listen to isn't supported by Tmobile website... or the I'm too cheap to pay 1$ for a ringtone because I blew 200$ on my phone.
Step 1. Get Audacity. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Step 2. Find a file named Lame_enc.dll This is the mp3 encoder needed for audacity to export files as mp3 files.
Step 3. Find something worth making a ringtone out of. Audacity has an excellent ability to record anything you can hear through your speakers. I instead just loaded the program. then open the mp3 file I wanted to use.
In this case I choose a file I recorded while I listened to it for the sole purpose of turning it into a ringtone. takes a sec to import it. Then Play the song to ensure it is what you want. Also note the time marks for when you want the ringtone to start and when you want it to end.
