Jun 18, 2010Like the iPhone is there a app where you can use a 4 digit code to unlock the screen, I'm not liking the pattern lock that comes with the phone.

Nov 16, 2012why my Brand New Samsung Galaxy S3 is switching screens from whatever screen I am currently on to the Security and Lock Screen?
It seems it may be APP related because when I KILL my apps with the Advanced Task Killer it doesn't happen as often.
ALL the Apps are the same Apps that were on my previous phone (Samsung Captivate) which never did this. There are no NEW Apps on this phone.
Software is current and up to date as it was downloaded within 5min after un-packaging the phone.

Oct 13, 2010I just noticed yesterday accidentally that you can press and hold the search button on the lock screen and perform anything Google Voice Actions is capable of. I am using a Droid 2 unrooted. This may affect the Droid X as well. This is a huge security flaw in Motorola's modified pattern/PIN lock screen. Hopefully this thread garnishes enough attention so that this can be patched soon! Steps to reproduce:
1. Lock your screen
2. Press and hold the search button "magnifying glass"
3. Speak any voice action and the phone will respond. Note: you will not get any visual or audible cues (in Google Voice Actions) that it is working, but it is!

May 9, 2010when you enable the pattern to unlock you have to do the htc unlock first and slide down which reveals the pattern. Is there a way to just make it the pattern?

Jul 19, 2010All of a sudden my security lock feature stopped working. I've rebooted several times and the lock screen pops up initially after reboot, but then I do not see it again. I can lock the screen and it goes black, but if I hit lock/home key again it goes straight to home screen.

This really surprises me, the phone contains access to all your email, contacts, calendar, and any other personal data you may have placed on it, and a large percentage of you aren't even using the basic security provided by the pattern lock? Or is it that many people don't know the pattern lock exists? I just can't imagine having a phone like this that isn't secured to whatever extent is available.

Only Issue is, even with the security code enabled, all one has to do is power on/off the phone and your in with no need for the code. What I am looking for is a locking app that doesn't get disabled when powering the phone off/on. Looking for something secure much like every BB has where no matter what you do, to proceed into the phone you need to type in the Lock Code.

For example, its common that someone wants to tinker with my phone because they have never seen it. I don't want the messing around in my messaging center, gmail, etc. But the general phone lock is not enough. I want to specify certain apps and functions that will require password or gesture. I found "ES Security manager - application protector" in the market. It worked okay for a day, now its buggy. When I go to a locked app and put in my password. Now it goes to the protector settings instead of the application. Also, it can easily be killed from a task manager app. I need a good solid app that will do this for me.

Feb 6, 2010On my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..

General :: How To Lock Power Button In Screen Lock Mode
Oct 28, 2012I am plan B and AVG security installed, both don't always work, I have pattern lock on the phone but even in pattern lock mode when i press and hold power button the phone gives me option to shutdown.
If someone steals my phone they will be able to shut it off without unlocking it since holding down power button still works. So is there a way to lock the power button from shutting off phone when the phone is in pattern unlock mode?

What I mean is that I need a phone lock for security reasons - however it is a pain to use it every time I turn the screen on. Is there a way to have it work only when you turn the phone on? Right now if yu don't have a phone/screen lock security set if someone steals your phone they take out the sim card and use the phone normally ... if you do have it, then you must use the password every time you want to use the phone (I hate it). Apr 6, 2014i tried to flash a rom without unlocking my bootloader. Well im running windows 8.1 and for some reason i couldnt get my computer to recognize the phone at all. After using 3 or 4 different guides i gave up for a few days so not to get too aggrivated. I mean its my own fault but my back up phone sucks lol. So i borrowed my wifes laptop running win 7. I Followed this guide androidforums.com/optimus-l9-all-things-root/807569-guide-security-error-fix.html. everything seemed to work got the s/w screen to appear in reverse and using the cmd prompt that says wiating for device then starting the .bat file from the download it says on the bat cmd prompt that everything worked. well at the bottom its says done then comes up with C:fast boot yours. i have been browsing Google but i haven't been able to find what i am supposed to do with the yours file. i tried putting a kdz file into the file location and running it from that but no luck. after a few min the phone auto reboots and comes back with the security error screen and not the backwards one.

Aug 6, 2010This morning my alarm started unexpectedly at 6am. The lock screen turned into the snooze/stop screen. Dragging down didn't stop it it.. It came on every ten minutes for the next hour. My alarms were set to 9:45am and 8:30pm as usual. Even turning the phone off and on didn't stop the beeping. It was my 9:45am ringtone even. (The two are set differently)

2.1 Update :: Lack Of Screen Lock Whilst In Call Screen?
Dec 2, 2010With the old 1.6 software on my X10, the lack of an automatic screen lock when in an active call was mildly annoying, as not all areas of the screen were active. However, with the new 2.1, just about anywhere on the screen becomes active (especially when juggling two simultaneous calls). What are the chances that we'll see a 'lock screen' function for phone calls? Those of us who actually use the phone for phone calls whilst holding it would surely appreciate it. Other android devices have had this for years.
