Is there a way to draw on or modify the key guard wallpaper programmatically?It looks simple enough for the home wallpaper, you can use WallpaperManager. But how about for the lock screen wallpaper?

Today I am looking for a way to mimic the behavior I know from my HTC Hero's lock screen: the calendar and alarm clock can put text & drawables there to inform about an upcoming event or an expired alarm. The lock screen remains there in that it must be dragged down to dismiss the shown event and there might also be a Snooze button.
But, first question: is this default Android stuff or HTC Sense specific only??
Second question: If it is a common Android thing, why can't I find anything in Google's Android documentation for the topics "lockscreen" or "lock screen" that comes close to my question? Where's the API for it?
My problem is: I want to inform the user immediately - even if I try a standard notification, the user with a locked screen will have to unlock it and drag down the notifications list to see & clear what's going on. sigh Putting an endlessly playing notification sound there is a hassle as it takes at least two swipes down to stop the sound playing!
Hope I said the color right. Tried to find something on the web (asked the seller) etc. but I bought myself ecell mirror screen guard (says on the package invisibleGUARD) It makes the screen almost from every angle and distance violet (Violet stripes). Its no usable for me. White is mostly violet and some colors get too strange like that (Makes my eyes hurt like I would use an old CRT).
Wanted to ask if thats normal and will go away when I dont know what or when . Or thats how it should behave standard (if so wont use a screen protector)? Another question which might have been answered here. Has the HTC Hero (not sprint) also a glass screen making it irrelevant to put any protector anyway? Thanks for any answer and sorry if this was already posted an answered here.
Is the desire HD Screen scratch resistant or does it need a scratch guard?

I have an ipod touch and I didnt find the need for a scratch guard or screen protective film. I also read that capacitive touch screens are made so as to have easy moving of the finger on the screen. So would a scratch guard reduce its performance? also If i didnt use one, would the screen get any scratches?

After installing, the screen died and is on but no lights work on the phone to backlight it at all. I powered it off and told him to give it the night... but do you think I ruined the phone now? I'm really upset that I may have ruined my boys new phone. Please tell me that this is something that self fixes!

My messages show up, but when I swipe them, the lock screen slides over to a second page. I tried playing around with some of the lock screen settings, but couldn't figure anything out. Brand new S4 received yesterday, stock OTA 4.4.2 pushed by Verizon about 5 minutes after my phone was activated.
After playing a bit more, I found that if I swipe to the second lock screen page, then back, if I tap on the message notification it will open, but tapping before that yields nothing.
LOCK screen aprears at the main screen, after boot the emulator boot up. I want to disable the locking at main screen, So that while next time i boot up my emulator not LOCK screen apears. Can any body suggest me best solution for this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Evo that hangs up on everyone that calls me.I keep the phone in my pocket and, in trying to pull it out to answer a call, my leg slides the bar.I could keep the phone in my pocket upside down and then I would answer every call but that isn't much of an alternative.I am looking for something that overrides the Sense's lockscreen/answer screen.I tried both GoTo and WidgetLocker.Both are great programs but neither addresses the incoming call issue.

View 12 Replies View RelatedThis morning my alarm started unexpectedly at 6am. The lock screen turned into the snooze/stop screen. Dragging down didn't stop it it.. It came on every ten minutes for the next hour. My alarms were set to 9:45am and 8:30pm as usual. Even turning the phone off and on didn't stop the beeping. It was my 9:45am ringtone even. (The two are set differently)

With the old 1.6 software on my X10, the lack of an automatic screen lock when in an active call was mildly annoying, as not all areas of the screen were active. However, with the new 2.1, just about anywhere on the screen becomes active (especially when juggling two simultaneous calls). What are the chances that we'll see a 'lock screen' function for phone calls? Those of us who actually use the phone for phone calls whilst holding it would surely appreciate it. Other android devices have had this for years.

View 3 Replies View RelatedA Tasker task that when I'm on the lockscreen, I can tap or double tap to turn the screen off. I've looked in the Tasker tasks and I'm unable to find anything for this. I already use the Nova gesture+ScreenOff app to turn the screen off when I'm unlocked and at the homescreen, which works perfectly. The only thing Nova can't do it turn the screen off from the lockscreen.

I think it could be cuter if it were possible to get a surface view that mapped to the home screen icon for the app and animate that when the app is running and the icon is visible. Is that possible? I remember way back in the days of Windows 3.1, that when your app was minimized, it was possible to draw to the minimized icon as though that were the app window (actually, I guess it may just have been the app window). Anyway if such a thing is possible in Android, I'd like to try it. Anybody know?

So if this question is totally stupid please delete it ASAP Question: I'm going to draw a grid of 10x10 PNG images. Each image is 32x32 px. All of the images are unique. View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a MapView in a service (live wallpaper), but have it hidden so that I can render it to a Bitmap, and then map it to a texture to render in opengl. I have a Canvas and a Bitmap, and I intended to call myMap.draw(myCanvas) in order to get it into the correct bitmap so that I could then bind it as a texture.
When I Initialize I do the following:
myMap = new MapView(ctx, APPSTATICS.MAP_API_KEY);
I get an error:
java.lang.RuntimeException: stub at com.google.android.maps.MapView.<init> (Unknown Source)
Why I can't create a new mapview which I can use to draw to a offscreen bitmap?
