Samsung Captivate :: Security Lock Application / Protector Settings

Aug 8, 2010

I am looking for an application that will allow me to lock out certain applications and features. For example, its common that someone wants to tinker with my phone because they have never seen it. I don't want the messing around in my messaging center, gmail, etc. But the general phone lock is not enough. I want to specify certain apps and functions that will require password or gesture. I found "ES Security manager - application protector" in the market. It worked okay for a day, now its buggy. When I go to a locked app and put in my password. Now it goes to the protector settings instead of the application. Also, it can easily be killed from a task manager app. I need a good solid app that will do this for me.

Android :: Security Lock Application / Enabling Code For Power On

Jan 24, 2010

Seems to me that Lock 2.0 is the best Screen Lock I've found. Only Issue is, even with the security code enabled, all one has to do is power on/off the phone and your in with no need for the code. What I am looking for is a locking app that doesn't get disabled when powering the phone off/on. Looking for something secure much like every BB has where no matter what you do, to proceed into the phone you need to type in the Lock Code.

Samsung Captivate :: Screen Protector Review

Jul 21, 2010

I picked up a gadget guard (full body) for 13.97 from eBay user jusage. You can also order it from iPhone, iPod, Cell Phone, Cases, Screen Protectors, Shields, Covers by Invisible Gadget Guard.

So I received this, steamed up a room for 10 minutes and then made a little bit of a solution (water and a drop or 2 of dish soap) I then began the process to apply it. Trust me, this isn't easy to apply. The video makes it seem easy but it is actually pretty hard. Now as of now the screen has some soap/water bubbles that are under, but it was pretty easy to squeegee out the big air bubbles. I finished that, but then it slid off again so I had to reapply. After this, I went to the battery cover and I put it on. The back was really easy to apply, I just put it on right onto place and it fit perfectly. The bottom of the back was fairly simple to put on because it runs a little bit small. Now the camera one comes attached to the sides and I tried to put it on. It was WAY to big. The hole for the camera was pretty big, but the sides went way over and just didn't fit at all. Then I tried to put the front cover (over the 3.5 and the bottom) and it just didn't fit at all. The actual product itself is okay ( I honestly hope that the bubbles go away) and it isn't to resistant. It is just about the same feel of the invisible shield.

Overall- I would recommend several other products over this. Personally, I would choose the invisible shield over this. It is much easier to put, and just a better product (the invisible shield is what I mean). I would also suggest the screen protector's from AT&T because I have put them on my past devices. So would I buy this case again? Probably not...

Feel- 7/10
Applying- 3/10 (pretty hard to put on well)
Look- will keep you updated
Look in the sun- will keep you updated

General :: Samsung Galaxy S3 Switches To Security And Lock Screen?

Nov 16, 2012

why my Brand New Samsung Galaxy S3 is switching screens from whatever screen I am currently on to the Security and Lock Screen?

It seems it may be APP related because when I KILL my apps with the Advanced Task Killer it doesn't happen as often.

ALL the Apps are the same Apps that were on my previous phone (Samsung Captivate) which never did this. There are no NEW Apps on this phone.

Software is current and up to date as it was downloaded within 5min after un-packaging the phone.

Samsung Captivate :: ZAGG Full Body Protector

Jul 22, 2010

I ordered a ZAGG full body max protector to replace my Body Glove case. I didn't know if anyone had any experience with covering the whole body with this thing? I went with the max vs the easy version because I'd think the corners are going prolly mostly likely to get hit if it's dropped and the easy version doesn't protect sides/corners. Obviously this provides no shock protection if it's dropped but it's a nice compromise between showing off it's sexiness and protection.

Samsung Captivate :: Captivate Lock Screen

Jul 27, 2010

I have a confession to make. One of the first things I did when I got my Captivate was tried to De-TouchWiz it.I immediately got a new launcher and used lockbot to change the lockscreen.Well, what I'm finding out is that there are some things about TouchWiz that I really like. For example I love being able to change wifi settings etc. on the drop down notification drawer.I also love being able to change the brightness by swiping the notification bar.The one thing that I decided to come back to as a UI element is the Lock Screen.I didn't even give it a shot when I first bought the phone and today I've been using it and I love it.The puzzle message system is just a great tweak and I love how you can just move the puzzle piece into the puzzle hole to go straight to that application instead of swiping the whole screen to unlock and go to the home page.I also really like that you can kind of swipe any which way to unlock the screen, as well as the fact that it's transparent to your wallpaper/live wallpaper. All around, bravo to Samsung on the lock screen.I hope others are enjoying it as much as I am.

HTC Desire :: New Security Settings

Jun 23, 2010

I was sat around today and when I went to go on my HTC Desire I was asked to set up a password. Strange, I thought but I set one up and it turns out to be the ScreenLock password. Usually the phone asks for a pattern to be drawn to unlock it etc etc now I have to put in the password I was asked to set up instead. When I go into the phone security settings I cannot disable the password or change it back to the pattern method...? I prefer the pattern method as it's much easier to input than the little keyboard to put in password, and I can turn it off when I'm at home.

Samsung Captivate :: USB Settings - What Should Be Selected?

Nov 28, 2010

I called AT&T because I was only getting a couple bars and the guy suggested the Kies update, this is all new to me. What does the Kies do? Also, now under the USB settings the Kies (Firmware update) is selected (green dot), should that stay on? What are the other selections for? Media player, Mass storage, and ask on connection.?

I was trying to download a couple song (MP3) to my Captivate and didn't have success, I connected the phone via USB and it just showed "connecting" on the phone screen and then a message about cancelling Kies by hitting the home button?

General :: Exchange Security Settings Update Not Prompting?

Oct 11, 2012

I have a co-worker using an iPhone 5 giving me greef for this not working on my phone so i need to get this worked out lol.

I have a Galaxy Nexus running JB (4.1.1) . For a while my exchange email worked fine. However now, it will not sync. I attempted to reset up the account, however the "Exchange requires security settings update" message that we are suppose to get at the end of the setup (which appears the first time) does not re-appear on any inital setups.

One of our faculity (i work at a university) has this same phone and had issues with it when she upgraded. It was only after a hard reset of the phone did the message appear, which we then accepted and it started syncing the mail as it should.

I really don't want to reset my phone, so is there a way to "reset" the security settings so that it prompts me, or someplace i can go to enable it to get my email to work?
