Samsung Captivate :: Replacement Of Boot Animation
Sep 6, 2010I saw a sweet boot sequence posted on. I believe XDA or Android Central, but for the motorola droid X. I got the file, tried to locate a boot animtion file to replace the new boot animation with, and it isn't there. They have a samsung boot and samsung boot repeat. I renamed both of them to bkp files and placed the new boot animation.zip in there(what they did with the motorola). I couldn't get it to work. Anyone know how to get rid of the Galaxy S and replace with other boot animations?

Jul 29, 2010I have an HTC Evo that hangs up on everyone that calls me.I keep the phone in my pocket and, in trying to pull it out to answer a call, my leg slides the bar.I could keep the phone in my pocket upside down and then I would answer every call but that isn't much of an alternative.I am looking for something that overrides the Sense's lockscreen/answer screen.I tried both GoTo and WidgetLocker.Both are great programs but neither addresses the incoming call issue.

Oct 30, 2010I went to reboot my Droid because it was lagging a little and when it came back on it go stuck at the Cyanogen boot screen. I pulled the battery, put it back in and held the X to boot in recovery and my recovery won't come up either. It just skips right to the Motorola M and if it doesn't get stuck there it goes back to the Cyanogen screen.
I haven't made any changes to the phone at all so I am completely puzzled on why this is happening. I obviously can't take it back to Verizon since its rooted so if there is a way to fix this I really want to because I love my phone and my wife will kill me if it is screwed up.

Sep 15, 2010I have an LG Ally with a shattered screen. It still works fine, but the glass is broken and it isn't very pleasant to try to use the touchscreen. I already replaced the phone with an HTC Incredible, but I would like to try to repair the Ally for my fiance to use. I'm experienced in small electronics repair, but I am having a heck of a time locating the part. It just isn't coming up on any cell phone repair sites. May 15, 2010My Eris screen is completely cracked. I bought a new one now I'm trying to figure out how to replace it. I took off the back panel and noticed 4 screws in the corners of the phone. They seem to require a special kind of hex key allen wrench. Does anyone know if this is the first step in replacing my screen? If so where can I obtain these odd looking allen keys?
I have heard rumors of DIY videos on youtube, but havent been able to dig any up. Also, I've heard something about heating up the phones screen with a blow dryer and letting the glass get hot enough for the glue to soften...but im not about to try that without some serious second opinions.
HTC Droid Eris :: Cracked Screen - Replacement Possible?
Feb 6, 2010My daughter dropped her new Eris and the screen cracked. We were supposed to have the insurance, but when Verizon switched her from her old phone to the Eris they removed the insurance even though we told them we wanted to keep it. Of course she dropped it 32 days after we got the phone so we can't add it back on.
We asked if we can add the insurance back since it was Verizon's fault and they just said nope, but they did apologize. Which is no help at all! Is there a way to replace the screen?
Motorola Droid : Replacement Has A Loose Screen
Aug 18, 2010I received a refurb for the one that bricked and the screen on this thing is driving me nuts. It clicks like a BB storm when tapped, it opens in my pocket. Heck the screen will shift almost 1/4 inch from top to bottom. I liked my old Droid and after almost 9 months of use it was still tight.My question is, did quality control miss my first or second Droid and will Verizon give me grief if I complain about it?

Dec 8, 2009I tried Home++ yesterday and didn't like it too much although I may just have to try it again. I didn't care for that "power strip" in Home++ either (can you turn it off?). I wished it would import all the icons from my regular home screen into Home++ so I don't have to re-create everything. Does anyone else out there have a better home screen replacement program? I saw people talking about GDE but I couldn't find the actual application in the Market Place. I also looked at the Panda Home but from the screen shots, it looked weird. I like the plain-jane version that came with my phone. I don't want fancy skins or colors or bells and whistles.

Aug 31, 2010I had to replace my Incredible as it developed a screen malfunction. The replacement has its own problems; namely, it reacts slowly to almost everything. In fact, as I sit here, it's locked up after I tried to play a video my wife sent me that I had played earlier today with no problem. It got catatonic on me the other evening; only recourse was to pull the battery (which it's looking like I'll have to do now). And text input presents its own problems (like getting the character a long keypress would get you, but about five seconds after I tap on the key). Is there anything that can be done for this replacement short of demanding another replacement?

I took it to the service centre who said that it was a display defect and agreed to replace the screen ... But they said that the screen was out of stock ...
After waiting almost a month i got a call from them saying replacement screens have arrived ... I immediately went and got the screen changed ... After receiving the phone back i noticed that the screen seemed kinda dull with a brown tint to it at minimum brigtness ....
When i asked the service centre guy he asked me to use the phone for a while and then it will be fine ... I used the phone for two days and took it back after reading several such tint issues on the web ...
Initially the service centre guys refused to change the screen saying that its normal. Luckily for me another customer came in with a galaxy s. I used his phone and showed the technician the brown tint issue. He then agreed to the fact that there was a brown tint and replaced the screen once again...
The new screen also has the same issue ... I had no other option but to take it and leave ...
The whole fun of buying a great phone has been ruined by the technical issues and poor customer service ....

Feb 22, 2013Is it possible to create a lockscreen replacement at the application level that replaces the device's security lock, whether it be PIN, passphrase, pattern or face unlock, or potentially a new method? I know it's possible in the framework level, and have done it before, but I'm just wondering if it's possible to do it at the application level.
So far the few lockscreen replacements that I've tried only implement a slide gesture unlock lockscreen UI, and falls back to the device's security lock after that.
Motorola Droid X :: Good Free Lock Screen Replacement?
Aug 11, 2010What is a good free lock screen replacement? I tried lockbot, but it changes style on every lock, and it has some weird bug where if I use the button to lock it, it goes black, then the unlock screen appears (screen doesn't turn off). I do not care much about theming it myself as long as it has a halfway decent theme to begin with, but I do not want to pay for it (yes, I am cheap :P ) and want to get rid of the lag associated with the default lock screen.

Oct 6, 2010I bought and installed a new screen (digitizer) in my Eris. The install went very well but now the proximity sensor doesn't seem to work properly. Most times when I place a call the screens goes blank and won't respond to any button inputs, Once the other party hangs up I get the screen back. But even this is erratic at times, not often, with the screen staying on all the time.
I installed Screebl Lite to force the screen on all the time and it works most of the time but seems to have a hard time figuring out the proximity sensor too.
Is there something I could have done to screw up the sensor when I took the phone apart? Everything else is working fine.

I went ahead and bought the pro version. I've only been using it for about 2 hours or so, but if you enjoy organized information, this is fantastic.

Motorola Droid :: Receiving Replacement It Rendered Defective Due Too Loose Screen
Jul 1, 2010So my boyfriend has the Moto Droid. Every night he puts it on charger dock and in the morning picks phone up and its 100%, five minutes later it will die completely. He bought a new battery, plus a battery charger, a new car charger and home charger but it still does it. Basically has to be charged all day long to be used. Has this happened to anyone else?
Also, tried replacing. Upon receiving replacement it was rendered defective due too loose screen. New one coming friday.
