View 3 RepliesSo my phone has this weird pattern of resetting about 2 minutes away from my house when I'm driving (happened in two opposite directions). It was just sitting in my pocket and I hear it reset (sometimes it reset multiple times on the same trip). I thought it was maybe the task killer running funny so I disabled it, and still it resets. Happens every time. I'm using Fresh 0.3 but it happened in earlier versions of Fresh too. Anyone else having this issue? Maybe it has to do with switching towers or something (in my house I get a very very very weak signal).

When the phones visibility is on (form a poxy 120 secs) no other phone in my house can find it or send it any files etc. Is there a general problem with bluetooth on this phone that i am unaware of?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just installed Folder Organizer Lite on my Desire in order to be able to change the icons on my home screen. It worked like a charm, but now I have a question. I am able to edit the name of the icons, for example I have changed Advanced Task Killer to ATK, but I would like to have the option to not have any text at all. When I go to alter the text as usual and just delete the text, nothing changes. So does anyone out there know how to completely remove text from underneath icons?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've experienced two problems with Google Voice that are causing me to get charged minutes I wouldn't usually get charged. If I can't solve them, I'll have to go back to using my Verizon number. First, let me say that I'm using a new Google Voice number that isn't Verizon cell phone number or any other preexisting number. Second, my girlfriend is on my family plan, but she doesn't have GV yet. We're using the 700-minute plan, so we don't have a friends circle.
Problem 1: When I call my girlfriend's Verizon wireless phone using the GV on my Verizon phone, I get charged, and when she calls my GV number on my Verizon Wireless phone from her Verizon wireless phone, she gets charged. We don't cash in on our free in-network calling. I know, this should have been obvious, but it just never occurred to me until after I looked at the bill. I'd be able to work with that, though, and just select "Call without using Google Voice" or whatever when calling her if it weren't for the second problem. When people call my Google Voice number, I get charged when I don't answer. Usually, it's just a one-minute charge, but sometimes it's two or three minutes (don't know why). With anything less than an unlimited plan, minutes count. Not good.
Basically, i use my personal cell phone for work and personal use, i have multiple exchange accts that keep things sorted and seperated.
recently though i have been getting more and more business calls to my cell phone, during and outside of normal business hours.
what im looking for is an app that will take a selective group of contacts/phone numbers/CID strings and if it is a "business" call then forward it to a specific phone number (external number, the actual business line).
I have seen apps on the market and around that will forward calls to voicemail if they match certain filters, but i cant really seem to find an app that will forward to an external number. Any way I could accomplish this?
Anyone know if it is at all possible to play games like odell lake, snake byte and oregon trail on my droid? Used to play these in grade school. Trying to play them again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was in verizon today and the guy said that in order to buy the droid, I have to have the unlimited data plan. Is this true or can I use the wifi just at my house. Also I was wondering if you can put your own videos on it, by converting them, or do you have to buy videos.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using easytether on one of my desktops at my house. Everything works great except that the connection keeps dropping. At first I thought it was because I did not have IE up (use internet connection wizard so other computer access the internet through this connection) but I noticed it still drops connection even when I was surfing with IE. Anyone else experience this? Is there a timeout issue? Should I get a keep alive program like with using a standard modem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my EVO, my time without a signal is usually over 90%. I live in a good coverage area, but low bars inside of my house/office (both the same, where I am all day) I put on airplane mode for kicks, and in 12hrs, the battery dropped only 10%. So that being said, it seems to me as if there is a definite conclusion between signal strength and battery life. Any suggestions? and yes, I did the GSM-DCMA trick .

View 9 Replies View RelatedI cook a full meal for my family every night. And I do all the shopping. So this brings me to the desire for an...app for that. What I'm looking for is an app where I can scan the groceries as they come into the house, and it makes up a weekly menu for me from that. Hmm, not sure where the recipes would come from. Anyway, anyone have any ideas? Now that I've written it out, it seems like a tall order!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Bluetooth to connect to my landline phone when I am home. All my phones ring all over my house when my Droid rings. I can leave Bluetooth on all the time but I am afraid that will drain my battery.
Is there any app that will turn Bluetooth on and off when I arrive/leave my house?
I just got to my parents house and there is now a little flashing blue house icon above the signal lines. What does this mean???
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was having issues with constant dropped calls from my house, which is in an area according to the Sprint coverage map that should have excellent coverage. I went to my Sprint store, which is a repair center, and they told me to go to menu>settings>Wireless controls>Mobile network settings>Roaming, and switch from Automatic to Sprint only. I did this, and have not dropped a call yet. The tech told me that depending on exactly where you are and where the nearest Sprint tower is compared to the nearest say Verizon tower, the phone will continuously try to switch between the two towers for the best signal when set to Automatic, and that can cause dropped calls, static calls etc. Ever since I switched this setting I have not dropped one single call or gotten any static, even with 0-1 bars for signal strength. He told me only use Automatic if you are in an area where your phone has no service due to no nearby Sprint tower.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add a label to each of the points on a map that I've created. Setting the "title" and "snippet" values of the OverlayItem don't seem to automatically cause these labels to appear however. I would've thought this would be a pretty simple and common requirement. Am I missing something? Can someone tell me if there's a function that does this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am starting with listactivity. I was able to create a simple list view using ListActivity and Arrayadapters. The problem before me now is i need a screen which contains a few labels and fields and under them a listview. how to go about it ? moreover whats the difference between layout and activity ? how well should i use them ? Until now I thought one application one activity, but after looking Apisamples i found myself wrong. A few correct links will help. is "busy programmers' guide to android dev" a good book ? View 3 Replies View RelatedI've found that apps which come into my inbox bring up a notification, awesome. However, I have Gmail filters setup to sort out my numerous emails into various labels, but keep them unread. Is there a way to get notifications for new emails which go into those labels?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHello everyone. Is there a feature or a check box that I am missing that allows you to turn off the little text labels beneath the application icons on the home screen? I'm kind of doubtful, but a search did not return an answer. It would certainly clean up the home screen. Plus a lot of labels are "cut off" due to length and that is just annoying.
View 10 Replies View RelatedEventually found out how to do this as there was a customize feature on the HTC Magic. The solution is to do it through Google Contacts and then synchronize the contacts back to the phone. Simple - pity no one at HTC Support seemed to know.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWe have used a Google domain and provided mail (gmail) for some time. Have quite a number of labels in use to file things. Only a few labels I need synced to my EVO. Inbox is obvious and is at the top of the list so easy to find etc. Problem is that the 4 or 5 others that I use regularly are all down the list in alpha order. Is there anyway to reorder the list of labels to bring the sync'd ones to the top or to filter so non-synced labels do not show in the list? Or perhaps shortcuts I could build on my home page to go directly to other than inbox?
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan it be done? is there an app for that?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAs above really. How can I add custom labels for people's numbers? Home, work, Home fax etc are not enough. I need to create my own. Is it possible? Thanks!
View 28 Replies View RelatedJust put a new gmail widget on my homescreen and it allowed me to put the widget on the screen without the gmail label. It looks so much cleaner than the other widgets around it that now I want to get rid of all of the labels.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been having fun customizing the look of my phone and getting more and more out of it. Recently I've been making custom shortcuts as I like having different icons. What I don't like is that there's a label on the Icon. The icon pack I am currently using is Manups Simple Word. What happens is when I create a Shortcut to the market for example the Icon shows in text Market Stock and then beneath it the Label Market. I don't like that if read together it becomes Market Stock Market
Is there a way I can remove the labels from shortcuts? I am currently running Froyo with LauncherPro using folder organizer and I also have anycut. The solution must not involve rooting or using any paid apps as well I can't get paid apps here. I read here Is it possible to strip HTC Sense UI from the HTC Desire? that Helix has the option to remove labels from shortcuts. I'll rather not move to Helix and stay with launcherpro.
Just wanted to ask if anyone knows of a good solution for bookmark labels or folders? Honestly, great web browsing is the biggest selling point for android, and no decent browser apart from opera supports that basic function (sadly, safari has it licked, bookmark manager on the iPhone is great). I've tried some market apps, but they either don't recognize bookmarks from dolphin or just plain suck.

Why did gmail create these labels? All of them are empty so can I just delete them? I use the gmail app and not the HTC one.
