HTC EVO 4G :: Gmail Labels Order Or Filter?

Sep 1, 2010

We have used a Google domain and provided mail (gmail) for some time. Have quite a number of labels in use to file things. Only a few labels I need synced to my EVO. Inbox is obvious and is at the top of the list so easy to find etc. Problem is that the 4 or 5 others that I use regularly are all down the list in alpha order. Is there anyway to reorder the list of labels to bring the sync'd ones to the top or to filter so non-synced labels do not show in the list? Or perhaps shortcuts I could build on my home page to go directly to other than inbox?

HTC Hero :: IMAP Labels In Gmail? (Empty)

Jun 29, 2010

[Imap]/Drafts
[Imap]/Sent

Why did gmail create these labels? All of them are empty so can I just delete them? I use the gmail app and not the HTC one.

HTC Magic :: Gmail - How To Assign Different Colors To Labels?

Jul 18, 2009

I was a bit disappointed with the included email client on my magic (UK vodafone), by which I don't mean the gmail app but the "other one". It seems it doesn't like to mark emails as read. Anyway, I thought, since the gmail app is pretty neat and I have a long-time gmail account I'd use it to manage all my email accounts via POP (hotmail and yahoo and one other gmail).

I've set this up fine and online, via my desktop and I've set up a different label for each account with different colors. (i.e. Hotmail = red, yahoo = green) However, when I view my emails on the magic, all the labels are the incorrect colour. In fact they are all blue. Why is this?

General :: Nexus One Running 2.3.4 - Turn Off Important Labels In Gmail?

Jul 17, 2011

I'm using a Nexus One running 2.3.4 and it looks like the gmail app version is 2.3.4.2 and I've noticed they've now incorporated the 'Important Labels' functionality into the app.

Problem is, I don't like/use/desire the important labels and now they're cluttering up my inbox view with a little yellow chevron next to the sender's name and the 'go to inbox' in the menu has moved and where it was is a 'mark important'

I had a look through the settings and I don't have priority inbox as my default, under label's there is a sync option for 'Important' which is set to 'None'.

Also I don't have the important labels for the web version of gmail proper on.

I think I may have accidentally marked one email on my phone as important (because that's where the go to inbox button was) so perhaps that's why they are showing up?

Any way to turn off/hide the important labels. Really annoyed that Google is making me find out how to opt-out of this feature rather than just asking if I wanted to opt-in

Android :: Adding Labels To Points On Map?

Jan 6, 2010

I'm trying to add a label to each of the points on a map that I've created. Setting the "title" and "snippet" values of the OverlayItem don't seem to automatically cause these labels to appear however. I would've thought this would be a pretty simple and common requirement. Am I missing something? Can someone tell me if there's a function that does this?

HTC EVO 4G :: Any Way To Disable Application Icons Labels?

Jul 2, 2010

Hello everyone. Is there a feature or a check box that I am missing that allows you to turn off the little text labels beneath the application icons on the home screen? I'm kind of doubtful, but a search did not return an answer. It would certainly clean up the home screen. Plus a lot of labels are "cut off" due to length and that is just annoying.

HTC Desire :: Removing Shortcut Labels From Icons

Sep 7, 2010

I've been having fun customizing the look of my phone and getting more and more out of it. Recently I've been making custom shortcuts as I like having different icons. What I don't like is that there's a label on the Icon. The icon pack I am currently using is Manups Simple Word. What happens is when I create a Shortcut to the market for example the Icon shows in text Market Stock and then beneath it the Label Market. I don't like that if read together it becomes Market Stock Market

Is there a way I can remove the labels from shortcuts? I am currently running Froyo with LauncherPro using folder organizer and I also have anycut. The solution must not involve rooting or using any paid apps as well I can't get paid apps here. I read here Is it possible to strip HTC Sense UI from the HTC Desire? that Helix has the option to remove labels from shortcuts. I'll rather not move to Helix and stay with launcherpro.

HTC Desire :: Bookmark Labels Or Folders In Web Browser

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows of a good solution for bookmark labels or folders? Honestly, great web browsing is the biggest selling point for android, and no decent browser apart from opera supports that basic function (sadly, safari has it licked, bookmark manager on the iPhone is great). I've tried some market apps, but they either don't recognize bookmarks from dolphin or just plain suck.

Android :: Map Overlay Labels - Display Name Of Location

Mar 15, 2010

I am building a MapView and I want my custom overlay items to display the name of the location they are marking when the user taps them, like the Android Maps app. I setup the onTap listener and the floating TextView to hold the location name. I still need to set it up so that it redraws the label when the user moves the map, etc. Anyway, I am wondering if I am reinventing the wheel here. Is there a built-in method I am unaware of? I would think that most implementations of MapView have labels. For reference, my implementation so far: in map xml:

<LinearLayout android:id="@+id/mapBubbleWrap" android:layout_width="wrap_content"
andoid:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentTop="true">
<TextView android:id="@+id/mapBubble" android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:visibility="gone"
android:background="#ffffff" android:textColor="#ff0000"/>
</LinearLayout>

in my extended ItemizedOverlay:
public boolean onTap(int index) { this.setFocus( mOverlays.get(index) ); return true; }
in my Activity onFocus:
public void onFocusChanged( ItemizedOverlay overlay, OverlayItem item ) {
if( item != null) { mapBubble.setText(item.getTitle());
Point newPoint = mapView.getProjection().toPixels(item.getPoint(), null);
mapBubbleWrap.setPadding(newPoint.x, newPoint.y-10, 0, 0);
mapBubble.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE); } }

How can I get the vanilla (Nexus style) contacts and dialer on my Desire? It can store custom labels in even phone contacts. I had flashed to a LeeDroid 2.1 ROM earlier and noticed that it had the vanilla contacts and dialer in addition to the normal Desire Sense one. So I know it's possible. Lekky has also a link to the Nexus gallery app, so this gives me even more confidence that the contacts and dialer app must be available somewhere too.

HTC Incredible :: Custom Labels In People Application After 2.2 Upgrade

Sep 14, 2010

Unless I'm crazy I remember being able to create custom field labels for the phone and email info in the original people app (all contacts are Google type) on my Incredible. If I created them on my phone; they showed up in my Gmail contacts. If I created them in Gmail contacts; they showed up on phone.

Now all I see on the people app label options are the standard ones with no option to edit/create a cutom as there was before. Is this the case after 2.2? If so I'd rather have 2.1 back. I loved that feature! Anyone else see this on their DINC?

Android :: How To Create ListView Disabled Item Labels For Sections?

Jul 27, 2010

I have a customized Cursor based adapter for my ListView. Each Cursor has a few columns of data, sorted by the priority column. I know you can create a disabled list item to act as a sort of header, like in the Market app (the little green labels). What I would like to do is display a header for each group of items with a different priority. They are already sorted by priority. Example data:
title, priority
note1, high
note3, high
note2, low
note4, low

Example of what I want in ListView:
= High Priority =
-note1
-note3
= Low Priority =
-note2
-note4

Android :: Difference In MapView Elements Size (Street Labels)

Mar 27, 2010

Comparing a MapView as used in an app through Google Maps API against the Google Maps app, I found that the granularity of all elements, most visibly, street labels, in Google Maps is bigger than the street labels in MapView. This is on a Nexus One, presumably other devices show a similar behavior. I did not find any hint in the documentation how to dial this for a MapView.
