View 2 Replies View RelatedI use "Palm VNC" to control my computers via my Palm TX; this is most useful for one particular pc as I can use the Palm's touch screen to activate commands rather than the mouse on the pc. A quick point with a finger and the command fires rather than picking up the mouse, moving to the required spot on the screen then clicking. Even more useful when I am at the other end of the room and need to fire the command. I see that there are many VNC apps for Android/Desire. What is the forum's experience of the various VNC apps?

Those stations will have no computing or storage or networking capabilities. They will only contain a keyboard, a mouse or touch pad, and a viewing monitor. They will simply receive input from the user and send it to the phone, and display or sound the output.Such docking stations will exist at home, school, work, airports and other public places.

On behalf of the small number of MAC users in this forum, I made a call to Samsung tech support re: how to do the Frodo update with a MAC computer. I was told that the Galaxy phone is PC based and, at present, Samsung does not have a plan to port Kies to OS X. In order to install the Frodo update when it is available, if we don't have an application such as Parallels or Virtual PC, we will have to borrow a PC to do the job.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm developing on multiple computers. If I deploy to my phone directly from Eclipse on one computer, I can't deploy from the other without uninstalling first. I'm assuming this is because there is a debug certificate being used to sign the app, and they're not the same across the two machines. Is it possible to copy one over to the other so that Eclipse is using the same one on both machines?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my phone to my computers (Win 7 or 2 XP machines) it always connects as A/C and not as USB. I downloaded the Samsung USB drivers and this worked on the Win 7 machine for a while but then started connected as A/C again. Un-installed and installed the drivers again but they do now work now. The Samsung drivers did not work on either of the XP machines. So, as of now I think it is the phone? I do have the Power Manager app installed and the phone still connects as A/C with it running or not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just ordered a Lenovo S2110 Android tablet with keyboard dock. The idea was to use this 20 hour machine on road trips to do work related activities. For my job, I need to connect via VPN to get access to my work's intranet. I can do that fine in Windows on my pc or my work laptop. I was hoping to do this via Android and the Cisco AnyConnect program. Unfortunately my company doesnt have the license for Cisco AnyConnect mobile so I cannot connect directly via android.
Is it at all possible to connect and share the connection via my home pc that is connected via VPN via the internet somehow? Meaning, can I have VPN running at home and if I am away, connect through the internet and get the VPN tunnel to my android so I can connect to the work websites through the Android browser? Or access my shared network drive?
Only other option I see is using Team Viewer of Splash Desktop to connect as a remote session, but that is not preferable .
Just got my Droid 2.
Trying to access shared folders on my home network (3 computers running XP) via the Media Share.
Set up the files for sharing on the computers.
On my Droid clicked on "Media Share" -> "Start" -> "Computer" -> "Copy" -> "Windows File Sharing" -> "Next" -> Shared 3 folders on my computer. -> "Next" -> Verified my home network was availabe, clicked "Next" -> clicked "Next" -> "Shared Folders" -> "Add Server" -> "Scan for Servers" ->
At this point it finds the IP address of the laptop Im working on. using DHCP. But when I click on it, it keeps asking for a user name and password. dont have one for XP and no password on the files.
I just did the new update, and the fps is up in the 50s on gears andfps2d. The issue is if I run Neo core it oly shows 28 fps.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI know this topic has been covered a lot, so apologies if this is redundant. I would like to work in the SDK and simply extend a core app that already exists, and then override some functionality. For example, I would like to extend Contacts, but then overwrite the entire ContactsListActivity class, for my own experimental MyContacts.apk.
In this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aUjukCdPyQ
Dianne talks about the ringtone picker, did she just extend the core ringtone picker and work in the SDK?
I DO have the entire platform source code, and have made some changes to core apps there, but rebuilding takes awhile (even useing mmm, and snod), so I was hoping to speed up development by working in the SDK (where building and running the emulator seems to go faster). Not sure if this is realistic or not.
This is all just for some internal experimentation, I am not looking to contribute the the core apps.
In another post, someone had referred to ".... classes available in the SDK....". How can we see what classes we have access to, in the SDK.
I want to pass the build process the --core-libary option. But in ADT I don't see such an option. So in Version 1.1 --core-library could be inserted into the build.xml and build was successfull when using ant. It looked like this:
CODE:..........
In 1.5 build.xml as well as the hole build process was heavitly altered. Now even the dx.jar is gone. The build.xml works differently, and I dont see where to put --core-library. There is also no documentation for where to put it.
I'm installing the Android SDK on a fresh installation of Fedora 14 (Linux).
I installed eclipse, and ran the tools/android sdk tool to install all the Eclipse components for the SDK.
I was able to get DDMS to install when selecting it by itself.
And for the last component - the Android developer tools, I'm getting the ugly error message pasted below.
Now I'm Stuck in Eclipse dependency hell.
I've searched through the available packages in Fedora and I can't find the one that has the files necessary to satisfy this Eclipse dependency...
Can anybody please translate what it is that Eclipse is asking for and what Fedora package it lives in?
The error:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.

I am using Eclipge Ganymede for Android. While developing a project i clicked on FIX PROJECT option by mistake. Then the whole project started showing an error. I have been displayed the following log in the console...
trouble processing "java/math/RoundingMode.class": [2010-04-23 17:24:29 - Gorinka2] Attempt to include a core VM class in something other than a core library. It is likely that you have attempted to include the core library from a desktop virtual machine into an application, which will most assuredly not work. If you really intend to build a core library -- which is only appropriate as part of creating a full virtual machine binary, as opposed to compiling an application -- then use the "--core-library" option to suppress this error message.
