I have two gmail accounts and ever since I updated Froyo, I only receive notifications for one of my accounts when a new email arrives. Before I updated, I would always receive emails from both of them and get a notification when they arrived. Now on email #2 I have to manually click "refresh" to get new emails, what happened?!

So the new 2.3 update to Gmail that's on the Market now isn't installing. I read somewhere that this could be a problem for root users and that we would need to use Titanium Backup to uninstall Gmail before installing it again.
Has anyone who ran into this problem successfully upgraded their Gmail using Titanium Backup or some other method? How is it done?
Running Ruby 1.1.1(and loving it), and saw the update on my downloads in the market. I update but when it installs, says update unsuccessful. I went into manage apps and cleared data and cache and tried again but no luck.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI know a lot of people have been having this problem AFTER updating to Froyo, but I haven't done the update yet and my Gmail just quit pushing about 2 days ago. I've had my Evo a little over a month and this is the first time this has been a problem. It's not even that it's just delayed, it will not push AT ALL without a manual refresh. Sometimes even the manual refresh doesn't bring up all of the most recent stuff.
I've tried hard and soft resets.
Deleted account and reinstated account.
I only have one Google account.
Google Calendar works.
GTalk is logged in and working.
Again, I know this has been a post-Froyo problem for many and Google is addressing it (according to another thread on here), but what about for those of us still on Eclair?
My gf's moment has been recently updated to the official 2.1 update, but ever since, she hasn't been receiving her gmail notifications. She has to manually update it.

Sim IS UNCHECKED but in dialer both are showing and in contacts/people google only shows until I want to search contacts all sim contacts show in the results, resulting in multiple numbers for one contact. I am being told that an update for gmail is available, but when I download it and try to install it, the install fails.
I know the new version of virtous has an updated gmail but would rather not backup, install, etc
The update reset the sync option on my gmail account. However, after resetting the sync option it is taking forever to receive an email, like 8-10 minutes where before the update it happened almost instantly.

I have to hit the menu / sync button every time I want to see if I have new emails. . . before the would come in and I would get a notification within seconds.
Gmail App / Menu / Settings / Email notifications/ is checked ON.
I don't know what to do. . .wish i never did the update.
Cool upgrade, including the ability to see your priority inbox, ability to mark mail as priority. Many other changes as well.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI did the manual update to 2.0.1 this morning and just now realized that I wasn't getting any incoming email notifications for Gmail. I sent myself a test message from another account and it did not show up on my droid. i went into accounts and manually synced it and now all is well. So, if you notice this issue after the update, just manually sync your accounts and see if that solves it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I randomly noticed today that Gmail 2.3 is available in the market, which is the highest version I've seen anywhere. It shows up in my list of downloads, but doesn't show as 'Installed.' I'm currently running 2.2.1 on rooted Inc.
When I click install, it says that it is unsuccessful. Do I need to remove 2.2.1 first, and then try to install? It doesn't give the "update" option. Just want to make sure uninstalling 2.2.1 won't cause any issues.
Is there a way to set update frequency on the gmail application? I don't want the gmail app to constantly check for updates and drain battery.

I lost the gmail app icon.
The app itself works. When I receive an email, the gmail app notifies me and in Play Store gmail appears as "installed".
I have just updated to version 2.1 and noticed my push Gmail wasnt working. I then went into the Google Mail application and can see its not showing any emails in the inbox and its not downloading any mail in "All items" either. Its only showing emails prior to the update. If I hit refresh it spins for a few moments and I see the data arrows indicate transfer but it doesnt refresh the inbox.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I load gmail in the android browser, at the top it says "Faster Gmail available! Update now" I click on "Update now" and it goes through an install of something. Anyway, after the install the "Faster Gmail available! Update now" is still there. It will NOT go away!!!
A popup also says to change settings of the new stuff it installs go to settings->gears settings. When I click on "gears settings" in the settings menu, nothing happens I cant open the settings. I think my gears install is f-ed up and unfortunately I dont think I can uninstall and reinstall the stock browser and Id rather not do a factory reset.
I added my gmail account to my EVO and when I check all of my messages on my desktop, shouldn't the EVO sync and have them marked as read? In my case they remain "unread" until I go through message. Is this normal? If it is, is there any way around this? If it's not normal, how do I go about making sure it syncs?
