May 20, 2010I have had my Inc for a few weeks and am still trying to fill up screens and get things set up just the way I want them. I know there have been threads like this in the past, but most of them were from LONG before we got our phones. Since things seem to change frequently I figured I would pick everyone's brains and see what they like. So, what are your absolute favorite apps and widgets .those you can't live without.

Jun 4, 2010I got my Evo for RS as soon as it opened. Once it was activated, I started downloading my favorite apps that I had on my Moment w/ 2.1. I have done every type of search I can think of in the Market, but I still can't find my two favorite apps: Launcher Pro and Quick Settings. I even went on AndroLib.com and found both apps. I then scanned the QR codes and it could not be located in the Market. I also clicked on the market link, using the browser on my Evo, from the review of Launcher Pro on AC and couldn't find it.Any one else having this problem? As a last resort I can make a backup of both apps from my Moment and then install it from the sd card to my Evo, but I would rather dl from the market.

Dec 22, 2009What are your favorite home screen widgets? There are plenty of lists of favorite apps but I prefer the on screen functionality of widgets without having to open the app. Here's what I am using so far:

Weather Forecast
If clicking the widget just opens the program then to me it's not really a widget even if the program creates an entry in the add widgets menu. So what are your favorites?

Feb 19, 2010I know this has been brought up in the past, but last mention of this is about 3 months ago. And in those 3 months, there have been probably thousands more new apps out there for our phone.So, what are the favorites? And what are must-haves? This goes for games as well. Are there games that are still getting constant play on your phone?In my opinion, Handcent and Shapewriter seem to be my favorite and necessary ones. As for games, I keep playing Cestos.

Jun 5, 2010Be aware folks Rooting your Evo makes copy-protected apps "disappear" from the Market. I never had this problem on my rooted N1, however once I rooted Evo - it cannot see apps like NYTimes, bTunes, and basically any other app that's copy protected. I have read on XDA-forums that this has something to do with Market being affiliated with 'build.prop', but unclear as to what the fix for this will be, if any Right now, I am thinking of going back to stock because of this..

Oct 30, 2010I just rooted my phone and got carried away deleting apps. I am not the quickest when it comes to computers so I started deleting everything in red. Yes I really did do that. Now I cannot download. I cannot use my dialer. I think I deleted up to about C before I said uhoh I may be in trouble here. I rooted because I hate the phone. I liked my iphone better as it was quicker and had better email. Those are my main two things. Figured if I rooted I could get rid of the lag and set up a better email. Well here I am. May 26, 2010I'm new to the whole rooting scene but everything seemed to go flawlessly following the 1.5 to latest root directions, but after rooting my purchased apps are no longer shoing in the downloads section of the marketplace. . I ran a search for the app and the pro version (Tapatalk) isn't even showing anymore, just the free version. Just out of curiosity I followed the directions to revert back to 1.5 stock and upgraded back to the OTA 2.1 and the app shows up again. Anyone had this issue before or know of a fix fo rit?

Mar 16, 2010I am looking for a bit of info and/or a tut on how to remove apps with the rooted 2.1 for the Eris ( BTW thanks to all the dev's for their hard work). I have installed the rooted 2.1 with out a hitch. I have been looking around to find out how to uninstall a few of the apps (amazon, stocks, tweet) and found people that say to use SDK's ADB or terminal. I understand what the terminal is and the SDK that google offers is but not the ADB. I also understand that there is a chance to brick by removing the wrong things. So I don't want to just make a careless mistake.

Jul 24, 2013I use the Now TV and Wuaki.TV apps on my Note 2. When I am on stock firmware, kernel and recovery and not rooted, they work fine. But when I am rooted or on a custom rom, they don't work. I know this is because I am rooted/modded (because the app makers indicated they check for root access).
