i am using a MIUI-based rom and replaced sidekick with googlesearch, however, it also removed the sidekick recent apps/task manager without replacing it with the stock recent apps list
so now when i hold home, nothing happens..
The popup more specifically shows you running programs which I assumed would be intrepreted as recently used programs, but apparently I was not specific enough. If you press and hold the home icon, you get a popup with recently used programs.

The closest competitor would be SugarSync but I really hate their interface and I think their service is slow and terrible.
I was able to find a list of some good cloud apps here but I was wondering if there was one that I haven't heard about:

1. Google Maps
2. Doggcatcher

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had my Inc for a few weeks and am still trying to fill up screens and get things set up just the way I want them. I know there have been threads like this in the past, but most of them were from LONG before we got our phones. Since things seem to change frequently I figured I would pick everyone's brains and see what they like. So, what are your absolute favorite apps and widgets .those you can't live without.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my Evo for RS as soon as it opened. Once it was activated, I started downloading my favorite apps that I had on my Moment w/ 2.1. I have done every type of search I can think of in the Market, but I still can't find my two favorite apps: Launcher Pro and Quick Settings. I even went on AndroLib.com and found both apps. I then scanned the QR codes and it could not be located in the Market. I also clicked on the market link, using the browser on my Evo, from the review of Launcher Pro on AC and couldn't find it.Any one else having this problem? As a last resort I can make a backup of both apps from my Moment and then install it from the sd card to my Evo, but I would rather dl from the market.

What is your LEAST favorite app that you've downloaded or paid for? Why would you discourage others from downloading/buying it?
Well, I'm a soon-to-be Galaxy S Captivate owner, and I've been reading and watching practically everything I can find about the phone every single day. I even check this forum every three hours or so!I've finally ran out of video reviews and 9-page written and 10 minute video reviews to read and watch. I'm an Android virgin, so I want to know exactly I'll do the moment I turn on my device and get a chance to play with it the first time!
I've gotten some really great ideas of what I'm going to get already from Lifehacker, but what I want to know is what your guys' opinion, pro Galaxy S owners. What are your favorite apps? Discuss! <3(Yes, one-click lag fix will be my first download )
What are your favorite home screen widgets? There are plenty of lists of favorite apps but I prefer the on screen functionality of widgets without having to open the app. Here's what I am using so far:
Pandora
S2 Calendar
gTasks
MixZing
MotoTorch
Weather Forecast
If clicking the widget just opens the program then to me it's not really a widget even if the program creates an entry in the add widgets menu. So what are your favorites?
I would have to say in no order:
Google Goggles
Google Maps 4.1.1
Live wallpapers
Speech to Text is AWESOME
Google Gesture
Ultrachron w/ voice set
Barcode Scanner
Microsoft Tag Reader
Spare Parts Add your favs and let's rock this phone!
I know this has been brought up in the past, but last mention of this is about 3 months ago. And in those 3 months, there have been probably thousands more new apps out there for our phone. So, what are the favorites? And what are must-haves? This goes for games as well. Are there games that are still getting constant play on your phone? In my opinion, Handcent and Shapewriter seem to be my favorite and necessary ones. As for games, I keep playing Cestos.

One of the things I liked about Nokias was you could download an app that would let you pull up a task/application switcher from any application by holding down a key.the Eris pulls up last six opened apps when you hold down home button, but there should be a way to open one of the various task switcher/kiillers and open apps using a similar method.Cant seem to find that in app store. am i missing something?

View 10 Replies View RelatedJust curious for an opinion or two I've been tempted to download Open Home from Better Android because of all their cool icons, skins, and other things. At the same time, I see comments about it slowing down the phone significantly or causing all sorts of forced closes, etc.Are most people using and liking Better Android apps? I've got an HTC Dream, so I'm on the old operating system. Not sure if that makes a difference.
