View 2 RepliesI installed unrEVOked3. It says it was successful. I downloaded ROM manager, busybox, and Titanium Backup. Busybox says my phone is rooted. I have a USCC american HTC Desire. I tried to Install Defrost 5.7 when I try to install in it looks like all is well, then it goes to a white screen with green HTC logo. I then have to do a battery pull and restore to get back to my phone being usable. I am getting a list of saved backups because I have been trying repeatedly.
View 9 Replies View Relatedmy Desire is rooted with T-Mod, but i'm looking to update from the standard 2GB(i know right?) to the biggest I can possibly find. The only thing is I'm worried about the fact that this card has been partitioned when I rooted it, am I going to have to start from scratch and re-root? Or do I just partition the new one, install the ROM on the partition (? I don't really know what I'm talking about with this), and then transfer everything over once that's done?
I was looking at classes.. I've seen class 10 SD cards but can only seem to find up to class 6 in 16GB microSD and up to class 4 in 32GB microSD... I don't think i'll need 32GB, I was only getting it because I might decide to, I don't know, listen to my entire music collection without coming home in between? I guess I was just getting 32gb because I'm kind of into "Do it once, do it right." But if it's going to slow my phone down I'll just go for a 16gb...
I've rooted my Desire on o2 have version 0.80 of the boot loader. I applied the defrost rom version 2.7 following this guide. Droid Den - Phone Guide: How To Install Rooted Android 2.2 On Your HTC Desire - Droid Den. It went through applying the ROM but now I just have it stuck on the o2 splash screen and going no further. Can't seem to find a backup.zip anywhere on my ROM and thought to back out the change. What's the best way to go? Re-flash again?

I tried to update my angry birds and adobe air. My htc desire was fine during the download, but then when it started installing, my phone would say update successfulness. The same thing happened when i tried to install some new apps.
New member as I got my Desire today to replace my Iphone and so far I am loving the phone. What I would like to know is: is it only possible to download and install apps for the Desire via the PC first and then HTC sync them?Or is there a way to download & install directly to the Desire?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best way for restoring apps after a ROM install. Currently I am using Defrost but it updates that often I try to keep up. I have got into the practice of making a backup using ROM manager then doing a full cache and data wipe before installing the new ROM.
I have been letting the phone do its own thing and eventually the apps seem to restore themselves eventually, but is there a quicker way to restore them after a full wipe.
Does anyone know if it's possible to install apps on my Desire which have already been downloaded and saved to my PC? My previous Nokia had an app installer programme. Is there one for the Desire/Android?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my Desire to Froyo yesterday using the LeeDroid Mod and everything went smoothly. The only problem I've come across is recovering apps that I've paid for. I've been searching around the internet (and here) and everything suggests they should be in the "Download" section of the market, but they're not. I've used the same account, complete with the email receipts you get for each purchase, but nothing is showing up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis was linked to within the Froyo Tips thread above however the link connected to a Blog where the blogger no longer wished to support the advice contained therein. He also appears to have taken down his blog completely since then.So here is the guide to installing your apps to SD by default by using the Android SDK and your phone attached to your PC under Disk drive while having USB Debugging active, to have all apps you download install to SD by default.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI was running rooted 2.1 and then did a clean install to 2.2. I went to marketplace, and SOME of my previously paid for apps showed up as 'purchased' which I then reinstalled fine, but a lot of the rest are not even appearing when I search for them, although their free demo versions do appear. My google checkout lists all the apps I paid for no problems when I look at purchase history on a computer, but still, I cannot even search for these paid apps, let alone attempt to install them!
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Desire started to refuse to install new applications or update old ones. They would download fine but then I'd get a message saying "Installation unsuccessful" but not give me any further information as to why that is. When using .apk files, I get "Application not installed" but no further information as well.
I have enough space on both the phone and the SD card and I am running a rooted 2.2 original ROM.
So I'm stuck and I need your help. Why does this happen and how can I find out?
I have a rooted mytouch 4g slide phone that seems to work fine but when I try to use certain apps that require root (for example "extended power menu") it doesn't work. here is a quick video : [URL]
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust did one click root and im now fully rooted on stock 2.1 ota. I downloaded 2.2 rooted + the radio and wifi. How do I go about installing it? Should I do it through Rom manager? or do it under clockwork recovery? And which do I do first? The rom or the radio/wimax? Do I need to rename any of the Zips?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have taken a lot of steps this evening... I had Stock 2.2 OTA, which I was able to downgrade to 2.1-update1. I tried the unrevoked method a number of times, but perhaps (as some stated) because I have Windows 7 64 bit, I never was able to get through the process.
I used Simple Root, which didn't work initially, but I forced some updates through adb (and looking at Toast Method). In any case, I think I'm rooted now, but not completely sure.
I have a # cursor, instead of a $, so I think that indicates root.. I also can reboot into clockwork recovery.
However, Rom Manager indicates it doesn't have permission, therefore, I can't get any ROMs to update. I tried to rename the ROMs as update.zip, but that didn't work. I noticed the ROM Manager appears to be looking for an older version of Clockwork, and perhaps that why it doesn't recognize it.
In short,
How can I make sure I'm rooted?
How can I update a ROM?
In particular I want a 2.2 ROM (probably Fresh).
I'm from Switzerland and made a reservation on Nexus One from Orange (which is suppossed to be here in few days) but it appear that Orange changed my reservation to HTC Desire, the description on orange webpage even say for HTC Desire : "Google Nexus One par HTC".Oh and Orange Switzerland couldn't give me a date for the true N1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI followed the sticky to the letter and rooted. I downloaded/paid for Setpcu and Temp Monitor.
I want to install one of the custom ROM's, but need help with two things. First, which one is best/most stable? Secondly, I need a ROM installation for Dummies, sort of like the sticky above.
I rooted my phone yesterday and everything went pretty smooth. Did a simple nandroid backup too. Installed setcpu and both version of rom manager. Here is the problem. everythime I try to run clockworkmod manager I get this error "An error occured while attempting to run privileged commands" I did download a cyanogen rom but nothing. Can't reboot in recovery either.
When I go to setcpu in in read only mode and can't change anything. it says "no root access detected are application have permissions?"
Ans last, When I open superuser permissions, Screen is black and can't see nothing. is this normal?
I think I am rooted but can not install clockworkMod Recovery Want to upgrade to Froyo
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo can I install any rom (Specifically the newest Bugless Beast froyo rom) right now?
Or do I need to be on 2.2 froyo first, and if so how do I get there?
I am trying to install 2.2 over my rooted 2.1 using clockwork recovery and the linked file from the original 2.2 rooted thread. Everytime I try, I get to verifying current system, then I get assert failed... apply_patch_check("/system/app/AdService.apk", then a bunch of other numbers, then E: Error in /sdcard/droidx_rooted_froyo.zip (status 7), Installation aborted.
I have tried everything I can think of. I have unrooted and tried to install the straight up 2.2 leak file through recovery mode, and get the same error.
I have reinstalled adservice.apk, still get the same error.
What the title says basically. I'm rooted and on 2.1, and was wondering what would happen if I install the upcoming OTA 2.2 update. Should I unroot it first?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a non-rooted Moment that I am trying to install eStrongs File Explorer & aDosBox on using adb install. Not working. Am I just fubar? The phone currently isn't on a plan so at best I can use WiFi at home (none that I can find at work that aren't secured). If I can just get eStrongs File Explorer installed then I can use that to install aDosBox.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI put the bakedsnack1.9.evo.zip on the sd card, wiped data/factor rst and wiped cache partition as the notes say. I then went ahead and tried to install the rom off the sd card and i'm getting "can't open /sdcard/bakedsnack1.9.evo.zip bad) installation aborted.
Did I do something wrong when I rooted?
It may be the rom, I just tried to unzip and I'm getting an error. I'm going to redownload and open it on the pc to ensure it opens then send to sd card and try again.
Update. just redownloaded it from bakedsnack.com and that one also will not open.. Odd
I'm running unrevoked rooted stock 2.2 and have ROM Manager installed. I'm trying to install DSP Manager and the following happens:
Select Download ROM
Select Virtuous
Select Extra Goodies
Click the "Download" button
Select "DSP Audio Manager"
Click the OK button
Select "Backup Existing ROM"
Click the OK Button
Click the OK button on the "Reboot and Install" dialog
Phone reboots to Skating Androids screen. Bootloader is selected, so I press the power button (my other options are Reboot, Reboot Bootloader, and Power Down). I get a new Skating Androids screen that shows Fastboot, Recovery, Clear Storage, Simlock and Factory Reset. I select Recovery and press the power button. Back to the same screen from step 10.
Someone has a Rooted Android phone and PaintJoy Pro installed? Because I would like to test it on my android tablet but it doesn't show up in Android Market. So could you please copy it with e.g. Titanium backup?
