I just rooted my evo, can I turn it off n still b rooted.
I seen these apps for rebooting, why r they needed, and what's the difference between normal and reboot recovery

Twice now, I've successfully used AR recovery routine to install the 2.1v3 (rooted) on my Eris, (previously running the original "v1" root).Install was a breeze--tho' I had to "push" the recovery .img and the flash routine by dragging them onto the SD/into nested "system" and "bin" folders manually while mounted to my Mac, as the first command prompt instructions generated error messages.the remainder of the command prompt instructions then executed successfully on my girlfriend's Windows machine, where I could install the SDK.I restored my Apps got everything set up, widget-ed, etc.All well until I turned my phone off when going to the theatre on powering back on: got to lock screen, but when I unlocked I had a black screen with an "unexpectedly stopped. Force close and try again" message for com.htc.launcher.When I click the Force Close button, I immediately get another dialogue saying com.htc.mms has stopped and then the first, com.htc.launcher dialogue pops up over and over, with the background behind never therefore progressing beyond the black screen with silver/gray "htc" logo.

View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I use the task killer...and at the moment say when I kill tasks it'll tell me there is about 200M avaliable memory free...if I use the phone for a day it'll maybe go down to 150M even if I am still killing apps and there is nothing in 'running services'. If i turn off the phone and turn it back on it goes up to 250M. What is running that I can't stop myself to make it go down from the 250M but that I can just eliminate by turning off the phone?

Once I get new phone, _then_ I will finally root my phone and go forward. In the meantime, no point in rooting this one to install backup software, as I'll lose my data anyways. View 3 Replies View RelatedObviously a noob, I have looked through the threads, and it appears you can restore a rooted phone to an un-rooted phone?
My question is, if I root my EVO and then have some sort of hardware issue that would possibly require a replacement or repair of the device by Sprint, can I restore it to it's pre-rooted condition such that Sprint or HTC cannot detect that it was rooted? Or, if I root it, should I just drop the repair insurance for it, because I am basically jumping off the insurance cliff when I root it?
Does anyone sale GoldCards that are needed for rooting the HTC Desire? As its recommended that the user, uses a Windows machine and I have no such rubbish on my laptop.

I stuck at STEP 5 in the second thread (above)
when i trying open root explorer i got this message
"restart app"
"Root explorer has not yet managed to obtain root accsess because of issuses with superuser,this often happensthe first time the app is run but usually fine from the on Click ok and restart the app to try again make sure you respoding superuser promt"
i have superuser app on my phone which means it is rooted....But when i open superuser...it has No apps in the list and there is no log information also...My phone is working fine as of now..
