Motorola Droid : Restore Apps After 2.2 Fail - Need To Upgrade

Aug 22, 2010

I had to unbrick my phone after trying to upgrade to 2.2. I used RSD lite as per the instructions on this site to go back to 2.01. I finally was able to force a 2.2 upgrade, but my apps were gone. Is there a way to retore apps, especially paid ones?

Motorola Droid 2 : Restore Some Apps From D1 To D2

Nov 14, 2010

I have a new D2 as a replacement for my D1. I like it, but I hate mutable. I have been able to successfully replace the messaging app to stock androids, but I am looking to replace the dialer, contacts app, and the car dock to the stock android ones. Any advice on how to do so? I cant install via an adb connection, and I cant install it with any file managers, so I really don't know what else to try. Also, please dont suggest any ROMs, I prefer to do it all myself.

My HTC Wildfire (Buzz), i made it S-OFF , Rooted it (i guess) and succeessfully changed its rom to MIUI 2.3.7 . Before changing the rom i backed up the stock rom .The problem comes to whenever i boot to recovery and reach to a point where i am to select if i want to install zip file from sd cards and other selection, i am not able to install or access anything from sd card. Even when i tried to restore the backup using Rom Manager it fails.

> I really want to restore the back up or install another very stable rom compatible with my HTC Wildfire
> When i hold vol- and power buttons and try to go to recovery, the phone hangs at the Revolutionary logo !

THE MIUI is slow and can't withstand stress as every time i try to do something fast it displays error messages.

Motorola Droid :: Titanium Backup - Batch Restore All Of My Apps?

Jul 20, 2010

I am trying to batch restore all of my apps and it gets to about 4% and the phone restarts. I can not figure out why it is doing this. I have used it many many times before and never had had this problem. Though I know it did start when I loaded up CM6 and it also did the same thing. I am now back too BB .04 and it is doing the same thing. I assume it is some corrupted file somewhere?

Motorola Droid :: Titanium Backup Restore The Market Links With The Apps?

Mar 24, 2010

Will titanium backup restore the market links with the apps so that I can still receive market updates?

I want to change ROMS without having to make a list of my current apps and reinstall each one. But I still want the ability to restore and get updates for all the apps I have.

And one other question, when I backup my apps, and then do a nandroid restore I assume Titanium backup will need to be reinstalled. Once I do this will I still be able to restore the apps from the SD card?

Motorola Droid :: How To Keep All Of My Data - Apps / Stuff When I Make Upgrade

Mar 12, 2010

So I want to upgrade my Droid from the older 2.0.1 build of Pete's Bugless Beast ROM (1.2) to the newer ESE53 based 0.8 version. What I want to know is how to keep all of my data and apps and stuff when I make the upgrade, because according to his instructions you have to use his nandroid backup to go from the older 1.2 BB to the new 0.8 BB. I tried following his instructions once before, and while I was able to successfully upgrade to the newer ROM, I lost all of my apps and data and ended up just restoring from one of my own nandroid backups back to 1.2.

Motorola Droid :: Backup / Restore / Get My Files Restore?

Mar 7, 2010

I Installed Smoked Glass V5.0 from V4.5. I ended up doing it twice, and to make a long story short I lost my files in AK Notebook.
Here's my question:
1. Should I backup my current configuration
2. Then "Restore" my backup prior to upgrade
3. Grab my files (hoping they will be there) toss them on my mac
4. Then just "Restore" back to where I am now?
Need those files by tomorrow, any assistance is much appreciated. It's not that it's an emergency without them, but I will have to do some legwork to gather that info again.

Motorola Droid :: Google Voice Fail

Jun 11, 2010

I just changed my google voice number to a google number today from the random number I had before. But now I can't call it from any 216 area code. This creates a problem because my phone is a 216 area code. So I can't call my own voicemail - It just says the number cannot be completed as dialed. When I call from a different area code it's fine. No contact groups or anything are blocked and I can call out. I'm stock and haven't rooted or anything.

Motorola Droid X :: Does Not Have FM Radio - EPIC Fail?

Jun 23, 2010

Well, that is about the only negative I can think of...... Oh yeah, it does not have a keyboard, either

May be a tad big, but very nice device

One thing that our EVO friends touted, but could not back up (hidef video) IS possible with the X. The 45nm chipset makes a huge difference in regards to heat output. How practical it is would be another story, but still- nice device.

Is the microsd blocked by the battery on the X? I hate that.

added:

Perhaps a better way to word it for the hidef is QUALITY hidef. EVO, like all other devices that use the snapdragon, sux for hidef output, due to the 65nm chipset not handling the heat well.

Motorola Droid :: How Many People Have Had Their Screen Fail?

Nov 24, 2010

I'm trying to get a sense of how many people have encountered an issue with their Droid's screen not working, though everything else on the phone is apparently fine. It's happened to me a few times, and the screen won't show any picture, but the touch sensor & haptic feedback are all still working, and the phone has connectivity because it receives messages & calls. The weirdest thing is, it will come back after a period of time & work perfectly as if nothing ever happened.I've see a number of other threads on the forum that indicate a similar problem, so I'm trying to get some sort of sense as to how many people have experienced this. It seems like there's a design flaw in the Droid, because it doesn't seem to be caused by actual hardware damage since the screen will come back on & look perfectly normal. So, if you've experienced this issue please post here, or if you've found a thread on this please post the link.

Motorola : Flashing P3Droid Kernal Or New ROM Restore Apps?

May 16, 2010

I recently rooted 2.1update1, I backed up twice with sprecovey...2.1 unrooted, 2.1 rooted. Then downloaded Ti backup and did a full backup of apps. I bought ROM manager and downloaded p3droid 1ghz kernal and flashed it. I know it probably worked but I ended up restoring to the back up that ROM manager made just before flashing p3droid kernal. How can I restore my settings and apps after I flash a ROM? Is there a way to add p3driod to over clock without overiding my apps?Didn't want to get in too deep without finding out first. I read for weeks before I rooted, Im ready for the quick answer. Im considering CM or Nexbeast...not sure. I really don't mind the rooted droid OS, but id like to use wireless tether and over clock a little. If I flash to a new rom can I redownload TI backup and have it restore all my apps from my SD? I also have sprecovery backups on my PC, but that wont help because they were created on stock 2.1 rooted.

Motorola Droid :: Droid Destined To Fail?

Feb 4, 2010

Can Android survive its forks and fragments? | Molly Rants - CNET News

and wondered what everyone with a Droid thinks about this. I am loving my Droid right now. It truly is like having a computer, gps, phone, and mp3 player all in one portable device. The new OTA update for the N1 doesn't bother me much, I have never missed not having MT on my device. However, I'd hate it if in a year Motorola has released the N2, or similar device, and my Droid still hasn't been updated. I'm just wondering how Apps and updates will be handled when, in the same household, there could be an N1, Droid, and Eris...all with different hardware and software requirements. I'd honestly like the Night Mode in GPS more than MT, btw.

Also, I'm noticing that the "Format SD Card" option is greyed out.

HTC Droid Eris :: Owned Apps Not Appearing In Market After 2.1 Upgrade

Mar 31, 2010

Is there another thread that addresses this issue? If so sorry to take up space. but some apps that i paid for arent appearing on market after flashing the lates 2.1 roms. Raging Thunder game Theres a pt.2 but aso not available. More icons paid Latest swype. to name a few. is there anyone else that has this prob? I emailed an app dev, about this issue and he replied "for some reason your phone doesnt allow you to list copy protected apps after updating." then suggested i contact market/google support. i went to the link and no email. just a link to FAQ. Maybe this supposed 2.1 official from htc leak isnt the %100 complete version. If so oh well, there would be a rom updated for that one as well if thats the case. I am pretty satisfied w/ the currrent build. I think its great.

Samsung Fascinate : Apps - Facebook/Twitter/Google Finance/Etc Are All Slow And Often Fail Because Of Low Connectivity

Nov 30, 2010

I'm a new VZ Samsung Fascinate user. I got the phone 4 days ago.

I have noticed that my bars are never full. I even compared it with my friend's Nexus One w/ her T-Mobile service and she had 3 bars when I only had 1.

I constantly get zero or 1 and occasionally 2 if lucky. I thought I was in a bad service area but I'm sitting at home where I had full bars before getting this one - same Verizon.

What could be the cause? Do I need to take it to VZ store (I got the phone from BestBuy) and have them take a look?

My apps - Facebook/Twitter/Google Finance/Etc are all slow and often fail because of low connectivity. It's really annoying and I'm not getting full 3G impact on my phone for $30 that I'm paying!

General :: Droid 4 - Mail Apps / Restore All Email Messages Viewable Into Inbox

Apr 1, 2012

I am relatively new to Android. Just got a Droid 4. As part of the setup, I added my gmail accounts. On the regular web interface, I have about 20 labels (folder) to archive the old messages. Then, I also had about 80 messages left in the inbox. Five days later, all of a sudden, I only have 1 message (a chat converted info a message 2 months ago) left in the inbox. Everything else in the inbox is gone. If I use the gmail app on the phone, that's what I see as well.

However, if I use the "mail" app on the phone, I am still seeing all the messages originally in the inbox. And the inbox is associated with my gmail account.

Now, comes the question: how can I restore all the email messages viewable by the "mail" app back into the inbox viewable by the "gmail" app, which is also the inbox in the web interface on my computer?

HTC Droid Eris :: Can't Find Apps In Market After Upgrade To Leaked Update

Jan 5, 2010

Had a quick question - Did the update yesterday morning with no issues other than I can not find some of the apps I used prior to the upgrade. I can find them in the market, but when I try to use my phone to download, it can not find them. Note: I used Astro to back up most of my apps on the phone, these couldn't be backed up since they were marked private. And they didn't display in my downloads either after the upgrade. Digital Clock Widget: Silent Time: If I use my friends phone (same version prior to my upgrade), no problem finding these apps. Suggestions? I could always downgrade back to the previous version, but I was having some freezing issues that I hope this upgrade fixed...

Motorola Droid X :: TI Backup / Restore

I was switching roms last night and something didn't go through correctly.I restored my nandroid backup and everything is somewhat back to normal.Ti backup force closes on startup although I still have root. I don't really mind having to sbf, but my question deals with game progress. One game i have in mind is angry birds. Is there a way to save my game progress without using Ti backup.and saved the contents of this folder to a folder on the root of my sdcard. Can I simply overwrite these files after an sbf and clean rom install and maintain my progress? Will this general procedure work for anything? If not, what is the difference between this and "restoring" from ti backup?

Motorola Droid X :: 2.2 SBF Did Not Fully Restore To Stock?

Nov 10, 2010

OK, this is weird. I have already used RSDLite 4.8 and the 2.2 SBF file to flash to stock once with this phone. Last night I wanted to flash back again in order to make a backup, like a dummy I forgot to last time, and try a new ROM. The RSD program ran great, took about 10 mins. Completed successfully and phone rebooted. Once it booted back up I didn't have to go through the phone setup and LauncherPro was already my launcher. None of the blur was put back on and all of my apps were still loaded and accessible. I did loose root though. Anyone experience this? If so what happened? Here is my setup. BTW, I restored a backup so I am right back to where I was before the flashing.
Froyo 2.2
APEX V1
No clock mod
Revolution Theme That is it other than apps that I have DL'ed.

Motorola Droid : Best Way To Backup / Restore To A New Phone?

Dec 31, 2009

So, for the second time I am having to replace my Droid.

What is the best way to backup my old phone and restore it on the replacement one?

I was told my Verizon that it would duplicate automatically. I was skeptical and for sure I have only seen Google stuff (contacts, gmail, etc) sync.

But I am also interested in all my apps and settings...

I did try an app called MyBackup, which let me copy over all the apps alright, but the market didn't realize they were installed (so it won't know about updates) and of course all my settings and prefs are gone. Anyone have any luck?
