I did a search and didn't find anything recent...is there a program that works with 2.1 that will automatically clear the caches for you instead of having to go into the settings and do them one by one? Also, what does the "clear data" option do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat exactly does HTC Sense Clear Data actually clear? That may be a solution to reverting back to 5 homescreen pages instead of 7 without having to do a factory reset. Just curious as to what I am going to mess up? Will i just have to personalize the homescreen again, put widgets up, reconnect to fb, twitter, myfaves, etc. It's not going remove any 3rd party apps, just make me create new widgets, etc..?

I thought it clears all of your downloaded apps and it was supposed to clear all of my settings. Such as display and sound settings which it also didn't do. When I receive a text the green number 1 that shows I have a text does not disappear after I read the text. I have scrolled through to be sure I don't have an unread text. this has happened several times so I don't think it's a fluke one time thing. any advice on how to clear the SMS new text symbol?

I cannot get the unread email count to clear from the stock HTC email app. I have two exchange accounts set up and after I read the mail, whatever the unread count was just prior to my reading it sticks. It stays there until the next time I get email and then the new count stays there.

Did a search but couldn't find anything on this. I don't have a single song on my Eris. And probably only about 20 pics. Very vew apps. Which tells me this is all based on my email file. I sync'd up both the Sent Items and the Deleted Items about a week ago and I'm betting that stuff has filled up my card. If there a way to clear those two buckets? I really don't need Deleted and Sent on my phone. Didn't realize it would take so much room on the card. Anybody have any ideas?

I'm annoyed with the constant finger prints whipping, so I'd imagine that anti-glare would be the preferred choice. Then again I don't know what the contrast will look like afterward. View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my eris for awhile now, no problems thus far Today, 3 times now I've gotten a text (first using handcent, now chomp) and when I pull down to clear/read it in the notifcations tab, sometimes its disappeared and then when I go into the messaging app, its GONE! WTH? Is there a setting I messed with that is making it do this, or how do I fix it?
I've had to ask people to re-send their text message, that gets pretty old for both of us. I rebooted and have yet to see if that has done anything, I havent gotten a message since I did.
I've had my Eris since the week it came out and it has the People > Groups > Sync Groups option, however a friend of mine just got an Eris and his phone does not have this option and is syncing ALL of his gmail contacts. His groups screen only has the option to add or delete groups.The only difference I can think is that I did not have Verizon transfer my contacts from my blackberry to my Eris, he did.

In that regard the RIM OS works much better. I knew exactly what was running and what I wanted to close.
It is particularly annoying with the internet app. One has to navigate backwards through as many sites visited for the stupid thing to finally close.
Gmail itself receives email perfectly. The problem is when I compose an email, there is no option to add multiple recipients. The HTC mail app has an icon of a "person" next to the recipient (or "to" block). There is no such icon on the gmail app. There is a "to" block but no way to add multiple recipients. I have to manual type in a name (though it does recognize and try and auto finish the name). Am I missing something? Typing each name in for a mass email is a huge pain.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery week or so my Eris won't dial out. I get a long silence followed by a network busy error. I go to manage applications/dialer and clear dialer storage and it works fine...as long as I do that or reboot the phone every few days. I found this solution on another forum, but couldn't find much discussion or analysis of the problem.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any long term solutions? It's happened since I got the phone months ago and I have very few apps... almost none when it first started. Not using Google Voice. Still running 1.5.
I bought an Eris which I love, but will probably take it back within the 30 days to get an Incredible. Just wondering what's the best way to clear all my info & downloaded apps off the phone so it's back to the way it came in the box?

When i first got the phone YouTube worked fine, and then i started experiencing the following message. "Sorry, this video cannot be played".However i found that when i cleared my search history the videos would then play. For those that don't know how to do this. In the YouTube Application: Menu>Settings>Clear search history.You don't have to exit the application after clearing your search history but you may have to go back a page and then re-select your video.This has worked for me time and time again.
