Since the update to 2.1. When i make a call it dont ring says its making a call and its counting up. But no ringing. I have to turn off my phone and turn it back on, then it works.

So I updated to 2.2 OTA this morning and since then I cannot hear anyone and they cannot hear me while making phone calls. I tried the *228 and reprogrammed my phone with no luck. Is anyone else having this issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had this annoying problem with dialing a number, placing the phone up to my face and suddenly finding my call being placed on hold as the phone is attempting to dial another number. What's happening, you say? Well, as the phone is being placed up to my ear, my ear is inadvertently touching the keypad of the phone and dialing. I thought the phone was supposed to automatically shut off the screen during a live call so as to prevent accidental dialing, no?

Also the the voice dialer can't even recognize what I am saying it always gives me the wrong information in need. Is there a calibration for the voice dialer to train my voice?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Eris has been acting very buggy. I am running the OTA OS 2.1. (I have not rooted my phone.) Please excuse me if I sound fairly ignorant about my phone in this post. I'm not very technical.
My phone has very little internal memory left. I read that I needed to delete all apps I wasn't using, clear cache, export contacts to sd card, import contacts from phone back on and then delete any unused contacts. I've done all of that and my avail internal memory is still only 50 MB.
My screen freezes on occassion when making or receiving calls. I seem to miss occassional calls. And there is considerable lag.
These probably all sound like silly problems but like I said, I'm not very technical. I've read others have some of the same issues.. And like I said, I tried some of the solutions mentioned.
I used *228 and pressed 1 and did it again and pressed 2 neither worked and still cant make calls.

The main thing that is currently annoying me with it is that when I am on a call, it still vibrates when I receive a text message. I like that it vibrates when I receive texts just not while I'm on the phone. How do I change this 'Phone Only' preference? 1.5 always just had a little beep or sound for the notifier never vibrated?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI updated my Eris to 2.1 about a month ago, and it's been running fine up until about last week. Lately, the battery hasn't been lasting me more than 12 hours, and I've done everything I can to save battery life, plus the battery cover usually gets hot enough to cook some eggs on top of. The problems I've encountered lately is with making and receiving calls. When trying to call someone, it seems to take forever. I know my phone isn't the fastest Android, but it used to work fine. It takes a good 30 seconds just to type in a 10 digit number; the phone usually freezes a couple of times, its just generally laggy.
When I try to receive a call, the same basic thing happens. The phone freezes up while I am trying to slide the bar down on the lock screen, etc. Here's the main issue. After sifting through the freezing and lagging, and finally get to the call, I cannot hear anything, and they cannot hear me. The call is connected; I see the notification up top, and I have got the vibrate to tell me it's connected.
Calls with connect but I can't hear them and they can't hear me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAny way to use the Droid to make calls over WiFi as opposed to the VZW network? I have terrible coverage at my house, and would like to just use my WiFi connection. I would need to be able to go over WiFi but still be considered a Verizon Wireless call, as I call a lot of people with Verizon and take advantage of the free calling to Verizon customers. I don't see why Verizon wouldn't take advantage of something like this, it would only take strain off of their network if some users are connecting on their WiFi networks.

Apparently, whoever is on the other end can still hear me before I do this, but it is pretty much happening all the time now. Has anyone else experienced this? I googled and looked for some kind of setting, but I have not found a solution yet.

There are way too many screens to go through, even with contact shortcuts right on my home desktop. What are your tips and tricks for making this process easier? I like the "voice dial" app and I wish I could tie that to one of the hard buttons on the side of the device. is this possible?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else seeing this behavior?right before I make a voice call the droid will show 4 bars, when I place a voice call it will drop to 0 bars and the voice quality is pretty bad.In the phone settings you can see the DBm signal strengh and before I make a call it will show -96 and when I make a call it will go to -104.I have noticed this even when right on top of a cell tower.You actually don't notice it when the signal is very strong, but on my droid it does appear that the signal degraded significantly when doing a voice call.It also does the same thing when the Wifi is turned on, it's almost like it's switching to another antenna for the voice when wifi is on or you make a call.So far I have not been impressed with the phones voice quaility at all.

And ironically, we decided to drop our land line last month. Now its like I've been plunged back into the 90's dialup days of can't be on the phone and Internet at the same time!
i just got new nexus 5 the issue is that when some one calls me , i can only hear the ringtone . and nothing displayes on the screen no caller id nor number just home page screen gets displayed and the ringtone can be heard
same way when i make a call the blank screen appears and nothing gets displayed on the screen..
I've had my phone a few days and have noticed a crackling when making regular calls at anything above around 65% volume. This seems to happen only on louder parts of speech. It's pretty frustrating when I'm in public and need the volume louder.

Phone unlocked fine, AT&T's APN entered correctly, web browsing is good, Exchange is up and running, etc. But, I am having a problem dialing outbound calls, it is only working intermittently. I'm in a known good service area (5 bars) and have strong signal. Half the time I try to make an outbound call, it fails after about 5 seconds of just sitting there and saying "dialing" - it just craps-out and I get the fast busy signal and a "called failed" message. I try again - same thing. Every once and a while it will go through - and then the cycle happens all over again. This isn't happening in any of my other devices. Could there be a setting in the "phone" area that I have to tweak or something? Obviously a phone that doesn't make calls consistently is no good to me!

When dialing numbers, it has the haptic feedback for each number, and when you press send it vibrates for an outgoing call. Any one know how to turn these off?

So we both got Moto droids on it's first launch but the Camera sucked horirbly... as well as the keyboard was iffy and it was too heavy
2 weeks later we got Eris...but noticed a big difference in the eris and the droid. While the dorid, in my opinion, is big and ugly and too rectangular...it's faster vs a nice looking lighter eris but i understand the processor and fragmentation of the OS and all that Jazz
So then he told me about the Pre plus and we tried it and I love the concept of the OS however I want to come back to the eris because A)lack of apps, B)Call Quality sucks on the Pre plus 3)I love Android and all it's features
Yet when i came back to the eris it's still slow even after i did some update to it(idk what the update was for as it's still on 1.5). So are there any suggestions as to what I can do about making my phone lag less(5 seconds to open an app or load messages or emails is ridiculous) and the battery is horrible but i hear I have to "train" it. I don't understand why I would have to train something to not die but idk.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and please keep the bs & rude comments to yourselves

So I'm at work (I'm in the Army), and someone who recently got a Droid was asking about not being able to browse the web while in the middle of a phone call. Someone else who had an iPhone said they could do this. But the person with the Droid tested it, made a phone call and was not able to bring the browser up.

View 6 Replies View RelatedGizmo5/GV/Sipdroid calls were working fine yesterday over both WiFi and 3g but today for some reason whenever I make an outbound call through my N1 it dials but I hear nothing and sipdroid hangs up after 22 seconds. Inbound calls are fine and when I initiate calls to phone #'s through Google Voice on my computer it comes through on my N1 where I can pick up fine and I can hear it. Complete opposite though when making outbound calls - no sound/hangup at 22 seconds.
