So I'm at work (I'm in the Army), and someone who recently got a Droid was asking about not being able to browse the web while in the middle of a phone call. Someone else who had an iPhone said they could do this. But the person with the Droid tested it, made a phone call and was not able to bring the browser up.

I've tried searching this topic for 15 minutes but cannot find anything about it, so I'm sorry if it has been posted before... Anyways, when there is an auxiliary cable, or headphones I'm assuming also, plugged into the phone, I can hear the person who I call/who calls me, but they cannot hear me through the phone. Is this true with everyone's phone? Listening to music and then having someone call me while it is plugged in is very annoying as I have to hang up on them and call back.

A friend of mine came over to the house with his BlackBerry and was able to connect to our WiFi, then make and receive calls. Is there an app that can do this? Or a setting on my Captivate?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI've had my Moment for 2 weeks now and love it. However, this morning I noticed something new. When I press down on the bottom left corner of the screen (home button vicinity) I get a creaking sound. I get the sound pretty much every time I press down on any part of the bottem left 1/4 of the screen. I do not get this sound when the keyboard is pulled out, so it's coming from some play between the phone and the keyboard. My wife has the same phone and does not have this problem. I'm curious to know if anyone else has developed this creaking noise. Anyone getting this sound?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wife's phone can't get calls - it can get texts and data fine. At first, calls would go straight to voicemail, and now there is a message stating "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect". Nobody who has tried calling is marked "straight to voicemail", and I had a friend who is not on her contact list call her and he go the same thing. I rooted and removed some bloatware over a week ago, and had no problems. She had adialer installed, and removing that did nothing. I can make calls from her phone, although earlier she said she tried calling me (I was holding the phone because I just texted her to do it) and she said I went straight to voicemail. Sitting here, I called my phone and several other numbers with her phone with no problems.

This is very annoying as Now after each call, I must draw my code to unlock the screen...has anyone found out how to prevent this? I don't see a setting anywhere for it.
View 16 Replies View RelatedMy phone stopped working properly today, right after installing Astrid update(I don't think it's related but it's the only change of late). I'm getting no sound on calls. No ring, no voice, and nothing happens when I try to go to speaker, the button doesn't register to press even. I've tried pulling various apps and going into diagnostic mode. On speaker test diagnostics freezes up. I just got done doing a factory reset to no avail. I'm going to hit up the repair center tomorrow, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I'm browsing this forum fairly often and don't recall having seen the same problem although it's quite possible I've missed it.

The Remotecall app in Playstore still requires me to pick up my phone in order to actually hear something..
its got all the other features i'd like to use: answer calls from my PC, make calls from pc (from , for example, the outlook contactlist), call Log capability; but i have to pick up my phone when i probably can just hear it through my headphone (connected to PC)
I think i should be looking for some sort of voip server on my phone and let my computer act as voip client, but i'm not entirely sure about that.
I have not seen this mentioned but I have trouble with it every day. When I make a call the proximity sensor does not always work. During the call my cheek will pull up the keypad and then start dialing. Sometimes this will happen even if I remember to hit the sleep/wake button as I start the call (to turn off the screen). Very embarrassing to explain to the other party why your phone is touch-toning over their conversation. Does this happen to everyone or just me? It did it with the I4 and now the K4 firmware.

I want to be able to selectively pick the numbers I never want to dial as I have run a huge bill by mistake. I don't want to put international barring, as I won't be able to text abroad. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy SII, on O2 in the UK with their latest software release (Jelly Bean). Since the update the Jelly Bean the other month, it had been working like a dream, but starting this week, my phone seems to freeze whenever a call is recieved, or I try to dial out. The screen just goes black and the phone becomes unresponsive. Sometimes, the screen just stays black and I have to take the battery out to restart. At other times the phone will come back after between 1 and 4 minutes, after apparently rebooting itself (the Samsung welcome screen flashes up).
The phone will also now hang and fail to play media (MP3) files. Whether using the Google Player, the native Samsung app or VLC. Normally, the screen goes black for a minute or two and then the app will show the track as queued up with artwork) but it will not play and the app just freezes. Other apps, internet browsing and text messages works as usual.
I have tried removing any recently installed apps (only Dropbox was new recently) and I tried the factory reset. The problems persist after both.
The past few days, my phone has had 3 or 4 times where it has said that it couldn't sync, and it would show one of those Captcha things and make my type in the letters.It was just a minor annoyance at first, but it keeps happening.Then, just now I was in my gmail account on my PC and I noticed that all of my contacts had gotten duplicated, but with a slash at the end of their last names.I don't know if this is related to the above issue or not.Anyone else seen anything like this?
View 2 Replies View Related1st, I would like to say that for the most part, Im happy with the Moment. The extended battery life after the update was a BIG plus.But i have a question. I used a samsung m520 slider for about a year before getting into the smartphones. The m520 would "announce" incoming calls.. It was very handy being im in construction and work with my hands all day. I would hear " call from home" or "call from" Whoever was calling as long as they were in my contact list.. Now with the Moment, i get a call and have to reach into my pocket, and look to see who is calling.. Kinda defeats the purpose. with my fingers all dirty, full of liquid nail, or caulk.. hell, mud even.. kinda sucks to grab my phone to see who is calling.. at that point, i could lift it up to my ear and talk. Does anyone know how to make this phone "announce" incoming calls? I called sprint on this issue, after trying to figure it out, they referred me to Samsung, who conected me with a "level 2" tech who told me to call google! So, I did, and google does not support the phone! any one know of an app? or a way to kick this in gear?

I think I remember this happening once or twice on the moment but admittedly, I don't use it much so not sure if the lock screen was on, screen was off, etc. Just looking to see if anyone if affected by this or if it's a known problem.

Oddly, they don't seem to drop when I keep it on speakerphone and this doesn't seem to be an issue at all with incoming calls.Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix?Also, I've found this doesn't seem to happen when I use the menu and go to a different screen while the call is connected.

Seems like that's all I really need to do. So why am I here watchinghearing my phone ring right now on my desk and yes it's from the contact in question? I mean we've all got at least 1 person that we just do NOT want to talk to when they call. I can deal with a voicemail and call them back when I'm ready. But when I reach for my ringing phone and I see that contact's name. all I can say is WTF?
