I have experienced making a call where I can hear the other person on the line but they can't hear me. Also, why does ending a call take forever. Also the the voice dialer can't even recognize what I am saying it always gives me the wrong information in need. Is there a calibration for the voice dialer to train my voice?

So I updated to 2.2 OTA this morning and since then I cannot hear anyone and they cannot hear me while making phone calls. I tried the *228 and reprogrammed my phone with no luck. Is anyone else having this issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought the HTC Hero recently, and I got this problem ever since. When I speak with someone on the phone, his or her voice is barely hearable. Literally, I have to ask the person on the other side to repeat her or himself 2-3 times before I'm actually able to hear her/him. So, long story short: the volume is abnormally low. What I've tried: volume control apps. They're all set at maximum volume. Hard-reset.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have some problems when I'm using skype on my Samsung SGH-I827 (Samsung Appeal) from AT&T. Basically my problem is when I make a call to anyone of my contacts, what happens is that the other person can't hear me, I made a call to Skype Test Call service and I can't hear my own voice when I record the message that is requested in order to test the recording part.
This problem is in both ways, when I make a call and when I receive a call. I'm using only wi-fi because I don't have a data package that allows me to make calls over 3G. In addition I have a skype subscription and an online skype number that allows anyone with an landline or mobile phone reach me on skype.
Is anyone else seeing this behavior?right before I make a voice call the droid will show 4 bars, when I place a voice call it will drop to 0 bars and the voice quality is pretty bad.In the phone settings you can see the DBm signal strengh and before I make a call it will show -96 and when I make a call it will go to -104.I have noticed this even when right on top of a cell tower.You actually don't notice it when the signal is very strong, but on my droid it does appear that the signal degraded significantly when doing a voice call.It also does the same thing when the Wifi is turned on, it's almost like it's switching to another antenna for the voice when wifi is on or you make a call.So far I have not been impressed with the phones voice quaility at all.

What's happening, you say? Well, as the phone is being placed up to my ear, my ear is inadvertently touching the keypad of the phone and dialing. View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy SII, on O2 in the UK with their latest software release (Jelly Bean). Since the update the Jelly Bean the other month, it had been working like a dream, but starting this week, my phone seems to freeze whenever a call is recieved, or I try to dial out. The screen just goes black and the phone becomes unresponsive. Sometimes, the screen just stays black and I have to take the battery out to restart. At other times the phone will come back after between 1 and 4 minutes, after apparently rebooting itself (the Samsung welcome screen flashes up).
The phone will also now hang and fail to play media (MP3) files. Whether using the Google Player, the native Samsung app or VLC. Normally, the screen goes black for a minute or two and then the app will show the track as queued up with artwork) but it will not play and the app just freezes. Other apps, internet browsing and text messages works as usual.
I have tried removing any recently installed apps (only Dropbox was new recently) and I tried the factory reset. The problems persist after both.
I downloaded a signal booster onto my samsung stratosphere and it will now not allow me to make any incoming or outgoing calls.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Eris has been acting very buggy. I am running the OTA OS 2.1. (I have not rooted my phone.) Please excuse me if I sound fairly ignorant about my phone in this post. I'm not very technical.
My phone has very little internal memory left. I read that I needed to delete all apps I wasn't using, clear cache, export contacts to sd card, import contacts from phone back on and then delete any unused contacts. I've done all of that and my avail internal memory is still only 50 MB.
My screen freezes on occassion when making or receiving calls. I seem to miss occassional calls. And there is considerable lag.
These probably all sound like silly problems but like I said, I'm not very technical. I've read others have some of the same issues.. And like I said, I tried some of the solutions mentioned.
So when I'm on a call, during the call I keep hearing an ongoing Beeep in the background. It's loud, distracting, and annoying. This began happening after the 2.2 update. Otherwise, everything is working ok. It's possibly a timer, or something, how can I shut if off...
View 18 Replies View RelatedOne day about 3 weeks ago I missed a few calls from a friend because the phone did not ring.I had a special ringtone assigned to the person, so I checked to see if there was something wrong with the person's Contacts entry that would make the phone not ring.When I looked, the box was checked where it says "Send calls directly to voicemail".I know that I never checked that box intentionally, so I unchecked it.That was about 3 weeks ago.Yesterday the same person called 3 times and the phone never rang, so I looked at the Contacts entry again and, sure enough, the box was checked again!I carry my phone in a holster on my belt, so it can't be that the box was inadvertently checked by the phone moving around in my pocket.Has anyone else had this experience?

View 12 Replies View RelatedAfter a couple attempts, I just decided the N1 speakerphone was garbage. I could hear the other person fine, but they said it was very difficult to understand me. I made a recording on my voicemail, using speakerphone, and it is indeed very difficult to understand. It's a garbled/underwater type of thing.
For a couple weeks, I assumed it was just that the phone was designed poorly. But my friend got an N1, so we did some comparisons. His speakerphone sounds fine (not a Nokia, but way better than my N1).
So I'm returning it to HTC for a swap.
This is just a heads-up to people who maybe don't use the speakerphone (those who do, already know if they have a bad one or not). If you think you might someday sell the phone, you probably want all of its features working correctly, and may want to consider RMA.
Anyways, Is anyone else having issues with the Speakerphone? When in speakerphone mode the person on the other end isn't able to hear anything I say. However im able to hear them just fine on my end.
So the main issue is that for some reason my mic isn't picking up my voice when I am trying to use the speakerphone.

When someone leaves me a message and i press callback it calls that number and Verizon wont recognize that +1 extension in front of the area code.
My gf has tried to call me a few times and the phone rings normally and everything, but when I answer, I can't hear anything at all, and the call ends after about ten seconds.

Pretty much no one can hear me if I call them, If I set it to speaker they can hear me fine (via top mic) but when I try to talk normally, still the same muted mic. Almost [anytime?] I am speaking on the phone [with anyone?] I will intermittently get a "touch tone" sound blasted in my ear randomly. At first I thought it may have been because my ear/face was hitting a button on the screen, but this happens even when the keypad is hidden. The other odd thing is that it only seems to happen on MY end, the caller on the other end will *NEVER* hear it when I have asked.
I *do* use google voice for all my calls. I do not know if this happens outside of GV or if it has anything to do with it. Any ideas why this could be, or has anyone run into this issue?
Today it was in my mind because it was happening a LOT (every minute or so) when I was talking to one of my friends. I never took note about it happening more often with her vs. other people or not [honestly, I don't use TALK so much on my phone] but we had a longer conversation today and it kept happening randomly.
It's definitely coming through the headset and not out of the speaker (ie: it will drown out the voice on the other end), and I did disable all touch-tone sounds on the phone. It is the sound you would receive through a regular phone system through the headset, not a chinsy "beep" or something the phone itself would make, it's coming across the "line" but again only I am hearing it.
Does anyone else experience poor sound quality on the other end? People always complain that it sounds like: I am in a tunnel, underwater, or on speakerphone. When none of the above are true. I hear everyone fine, but for them it is not mutual. My phone is a droid on verizon.

When she is on the phone talking it is constantly, muting her voice or something cuz no1 can hear her. she just got the phone less than a week ago. I read online and found a bunch of stuff about the proximity sensor and the software issues, however those were all dated last year around winter time. So I am trying to see if there is a current fix for it. I see on the forums people have some problems with hardware on their incredibles but I didn't see a thread for the droid. Basically she can hear people talking but no1 can hear her and it happens like every other phone call.
