So before my eris i had a BB curve 8330 (its old, i know) the plugs are compatible from BB to eris, so i still use my car charger, but the wall charger output matches voltage, but the one that came with the eris says 1A, the one from the BB says 750mA.Am i about to fry something? i can read an electrical diagram and solder something, but i dont understand electrical stuff.

Will virtually any mini-USB based cable, car charger, and wall charger work with my HTC Droid Eris? Mini-USB cables are generally universal, but I want to ensure that I use a compatible car charger and wall charger that won't damage my phone. The official Verizon accessories of course seem overpriced, if any generic solution would work equally well.

Overall, this mini-USB cable / car charger / wall charger combo gets positive reviews, but I've heard of random glitches for some cheap chargers.
I forgot to bring my Droid Incredible charger with me to work. Since the battery was getting low I decided to use my BlackBerry Storm charger on it. The ports are the same, and it goes in without any problems. However, after doing this, it became difficult to unlock. Swiping down usually didn't work. If I was able to swipe down I couldn't get past the "password puzzle." I thought the phone was locked up so I pulled the battery, but it still wouldn't swipe after coming back up. I took the charger out and realized I could swipe again. I repeated this, again plugging the charger in and again I was unable to swipe to unlock. Is there a voltage difference between the BB charger and the Incredible charger? It seems like it was charging it fine. JuicePlotter shows a charge while it was plugged in.

Recently whenever I plug my phone into the charger or a mini USB cable it won't stay connected unless I hold it there. Would this be due to the cable or the actual plug on the bottom of the phone coming loose?
I had this happen with an LG Chocolate before and had to get it replaced.
Please share what a rooted phone can do as compared to a non-rooted phone and what a rooted Eris looks like. Screen shots and stories are welcome.

i want to say that the leaked version of 2.1 was around 100 megabytes and Earlier today i received the offical OTA 2.1 from Verizon and it was only clocked in at 77 megabytes.
Talking to my stepdad, he was very interested in how one version can be different in size but "be the same".
I know theres another forums around here stating the two are the same (checksums and file details) but whats taking up that extra 30 megabytes on the leaked version?

So i looked at it and battery is still red. And i am wonder what the heck. Everything is plug in where it should be.
Low and behold the chord connecting at the mini usb well let's just say the casing is ripping apart and the wire is exposed. I've had this phone for 3 weeks and this happens.
Verizon better give me a new charger. Also i've notice i always get Sense UI force closed and other apps force closed but if i close and start again it works.
What car charger can i order that charges as fast as the wall charger, can someone provide a link?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the OEM charger on my Dinc and nothing else. I randomly get a message something like, "The charger you are using is not compatible with your device. Remove the charger now to avoid damage to your phone". I have not used anything other than the OEM charger ever. It isn't loose or frayed or bent strangely. It also seems to charge even though the message pops up. For now, I'm using my computer's USB port to charge it but man, that's SLOOOOOOOOW. It has done it since I first got the phone and before I had even installed my first app. It also does it after a factory reset and reprogram. Customer service is sending an aftermarket wall charger free of charge until I can get an OEM unit as they are obviously out of stock.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the VZW car charger they were bundling back in November, it was not meant for the Droid as it wasn't even listed, it was meant for BB etc. What I have found is that it doesn't give out enough power to charge the Droid at the same time that you are using GPS so the phone actually discharges the battery as you are using. I found the Moto charger on Amazon and am wondering if anyone else has used it and if it provides enough power to charge the phone and use GPS. Ok so when I have the USB cable plugged into the wall charger then my phone will charge. But when I plug the same cable into my computer or xbox, my phone will not charge.
