HTC Incredible :: Setup Direct Message Shortcut To Contact Group
May 6, 2010i am a youth sports coach and i need to be able to setup a direct message shortcut to my contact group. Has anyone been able to do this? i can setup indivdual short cuts but not a shortcut for a contact group. Am i doing something wrong? Also, is there a way to change the label on the direct message shortcut?

Mar 20, 2010Anyone know how to change how much messages compresses an image when u try to send it in a text? When I take a picture and share it in messages it says picture is too large and starts compressing it. It compresses it down to 14kb. It says picture can be as large as 1000kb but every time it compresses it to 14kb and don't know how to change it.

May 31, 2010I recently installed LauncherPro on my Droid and am trying to make use of the additional home screen space. One thing I would like to do is create a on-click shortcut to search for nearby hardware stores (I'm a contractor and sometimes need to pickup task-specific materials). I could swear there used to be a shortcut available called "Direct Search" or something like that, that would do just what I'm looking for, but I don't see it when I try to add a shortcut to the home screen. Did this used to exist, or was it just my imagination? Is there anything like it now? I know I could make a bookmark in the browser and place a shortcut to the bookmark on the home screen, but I was hoping for the results to come up in Google Maps.

Android :: Way To Change Message List Size In K9 Mail?
Jan 9, 2010I like using K9 Mail, but I was wondering if there was a way to change the size of the messages listed in the in box or any IMAP folder. 10-and-a-half messages (with the subject on one line and sender on another) are displayed on my Moment's screen. While I like seeing all of these messages, it is not very finger-friendly. It is difficult to tap precisely on a given message. Is there any way to increase the size of the message list? Something like the default Gmail or Android e-mail app would be great. I have dug through the preferences of K9, but so far haven't found anything other than being able to change the theme of the app.

Feb 16, 2010Sorry if this has been asked... I've searched and so far nothing. I just got my new Droid Eris. So far I love it, except for my text message sounds. My ringtone works as my new one. My notification sound plays my preference (Clapton's Layla) when I have an email and such, however, when I get a text message, it still plays the default sound. Is there somewhere you change this other than notification sounds?

Sep 17, 2010I just got my first Droid phone last night, went from a BB Tour to a Droid 2. So far it seems to be pretty nice, lil getting used to but over all I'm liking it. One thing that bugs me though is - I've downloaded Handcent (for texting) and Maildroid (for pop3 email) and have added both to my home screen. So far so good. what I can't figure out though is how in the world do I change the shortcut name? Right now they are labeled Handcent and Maildroid - I'd like to rename them to Messaging and Mail respectively. Can someone point out what I need to do to rename these? I'm sure I'm overlooking it somewhere.

May 17, 2010I keep a shortcut to the Calendar on my home screen. With 1.5 I was always annoyed that the shortcut had a 28 (or somesuch) date on it. I really wanted it to be dynamic so the shortcut always had the correct date. On Sunday when I got my 2.1 upgrade, I was so happy to see that the calendar shortcut had the correct date, the 15th. I was bummed to find out that it was a concidence. The correct date was only displayed because it happend to be be the 15th. Today, on the 17th, it still says 15 on my shortcut.

Apr 11, 2010Well, because no one has any idea how to change from the phone symbol to the index card symbol on the large "people" icons I found another way to do what I want.
I still can't believe nobody knows how to fix that problem but oh well.
Anyway, I found that you can add a people shortcut which adds a small face icon and made my own people page.
It works great. When you tap it it brings up all of the persons info and allows you to choose what action you want.
Just like the large default people icons *IF* you could change to the index card symbol.
Now, the ONLY problem is, I can't get the persons picture to show up on the main page instead of the silhouette pic.
I am synced with google so all my contacts have pics and they DO show up in the info when you tap on the icon but NOT on the main page icon.
I just want to add the pic to the home page icon, any ideas how to to do it ?

May 13, 2010I was wondering if 2.1 still had the following bugs/problems that myself, and a lot of people seem to encounter with 1.5, or if it's phone specific not OS specific.
1. Problems receiving picture messages. Specifically receiving a message saying "Message not downloaded. Retransmission scheduled for XX:XX", even if you click "Download" button multiple times.
2. When receiving a text message longer than 160 characters, you get a message saying "The preceding messages modified. Media objects removed." and the sender gets a message saying that you do not support enhanced messaging service, even though you DO actually receive the entire message. I know the Incredible doesn't have this problem, but the Eris does.
