Apr 5, 2010I just recently downloaded 2.1 and so far its awesome, but im having some issues. First, where are the live wallpapers? I downloaded several off the market, but i have no idea where to use them at. Also, i have some issues when i go to make calls, i press buttons and it lags to a point to where it slows down completely.

I use PDAnet for internet for my netbook all the time for my business and need to know if it is still available and working on the leaked rom. Also is bluetooth tethering working now that it is 2.1?

Jan 3, 2010I was following another site to see if the Eris was going to get rooted and I saw that a leaked update was discovered for the Eris. IT is suppose to be the one for January 22nd. It is not an Android update, just another update to fix any known bugs on the device. Has anyone on this forum tried it yet and if so what fixes did you notice.

Mar 10, 2010I upgraded to 2.1 last Friday and have been very happy.No issues thus far.Being an early adopter,I wonder if there any later versions then what I down loaded last week. Of course, I should think about leaving well enought alone.I have a working Eris with 2.1.

i want to say that the leaked version of 2.1 was around 100 megabytes and Earlier today i received the offical OTA 2.1 from Verizon and it was only clocked in at 77 megabytes.
Talking to my stepdad, he was very interested in how one version can be different in size but "be the same".
I know theres another forums around here stating the two are the same (checksums and file details) but whats taking up that extra 30 megabytes on the leaked version?

Jan 5, 2010Had a quick question - Did the update yesterday morning with no issues other than I can not find some of the apps I used prior to the upgrade. I can find them in the market, but when I try to use my phone to download, it can not find them. Note: I used Astro to back up most of my apps on the phone, these couldn't be backed up since they were marked private. And they didn't display in my downloads either after the upgrade. Digital Clock Widget: Silent Time: If I use my friends phone (same version prior to my upgrade), no problem finding these apps. Suggestions? I could always downgrade back to the previous version, but I was having some freezing issues that I hope this upgrade fixed...

The password screen locks and when it asks for the user name and password it states invalid user name / password!
Is this a known problem since when I called and talked to both Verizon and HTC the only thing they could tell me was to do a hard reset and they weren't aware of this problem?

Jan 10, 2010Long time blackberry user and I just traded in my tour yesterday for the Droid Eris. Let me just get this out of the way first and say WOW what an awesome phone this thing rocks the casba better than any blackberry I've ever owned.Ok now that I've got that out of the way here is my deli-ma and if this has been posted and answered before please forgive me as I did conduct a search prior to this I just couldn't find a thread that related to my scenario.Ok so I work for a huge IT company and when I was on the BB I had a rule setup with my BB desktop manager that any emails that came through with the word PAGEME in the body to forward that email to my phone as a level 1 message and cause my phone to explode in the process. (btw the PAGEME was added by our BES so that will no longer be an option for a filter) so what I was wondering is this, is there a way with this phone that I can setup a similar rule whether it is something that I have to configure on the phone itself or in say Outlook with a exchange rule. Whatever be the case I am open to anything all that matters is that we can make the phone do some god awful sound when a page comes in so that way I can at least assure that my phone will at least wake my wife up so she can kick me and wake me up . The positive thing is that the page will only be sent to me so whatever rule we'll be creating will be specific to me being the only recipient. And yes the page does come through as a email. I can change the pager address to be mynumber@vtext.com thats not a problem but I'd rather leave it going to my regular email that way I get the full page instead of just the first 160 characters.

Jul 26, 2010I'm getting my first Android device anytime now (FedEx says "out for delivery"). It's the HTC Droid Eris. I've been a huge Google user for years and became frustrated with how difficult it is to work on Windows Mobile. I have a few basic questions.
1. I want to use Push E-Mail/Calendar/Contacts, etc. With this phone? Can someone please explain the set-up process to me.
2. I had trouble with my Samsung Omnia and Google Latitude. It would 20+ minutes to get the GPS information and I had to keep Google Maps on the screen or it would stop using GPS. This function has become very important for me when I travel. Am I going to encounter these same issues with the Eris?
3. I would also like to have a chat client which uses push and can work with FB, GTalk, AIM, and MSN. Is eBuddy the way to go?
4. Twitter Application, I'd like to have an application that will put new tweets on my home page. I'd also like to have an app in which I can post tweets (preferably with the option to post locations). What is the best twitter application?

Sep 23, 2010So right now I'm running the 2.3.13 leaked version (haven't upgraded to the now public 2.3.15 yet) and have Tranquility with REVOlution R2 theme installed. I guess my question is this:What's the benefit of going with the OTA upgrade vs. the leaked 2.3.15 (which I can easily upgrade to from the .13 build)?Is it worth all the hassle at this point to even consider the OTA or should I just wait it out?The other thing is I can't really tell what the difference between .13 and .15 are and if there's even any difference between the OTA and the leaked .15 build. I'm pretty content with my phone the way it is now, esp. with Tranq ROM and REVO R2 theme. I just wanted to get some opinions before I go spend another night toying with my phone. Is there even anyone here that paid for the leaked 2.3.15 and now has the OTA that may actually know if there's a (noticeable) difference between the leaked and the OTA.

I've been reading about deodexing, ROMs, Themes etc. Alot of this is for the OTA 2.2 which I find in my searches. All this requires root, which I am now prepared to do.
