I just upgraded to the 2.1 leak. I know that I will lose some of my apps due to them not being ready for 2.1, but what are some good apps. Im looking for an app to find places to eat. please post any good apps for 2.1..

Had a quick question - Did the update yesterday morning with no issues other than I can not find some of the apps I used prior to the upgrade. I can find them in the market, but when I try to use my phone to download, it can not find them. Note: I used Astro to back up most of my apps on the phone, these couldn't be backed up since they were marked private. And they didn't display in my downloads either after the upgrade. Digital Clock Widget: Silent Time: If I use my friends phone (same version prior to my upgrade), no problem finding these apps. Suggestions? I could always downgrade back to the previous version, but I was having some freezing issues that I hope this upgrade fixed...

I downloaded several off the market, but i have no idea where to use them at. Also, i have some issues when i go to make calls, i press buttons and it lags to a point to where it slows down completely.

Does anyone have the leaked 2.1 rom and the PAID version of PDAnet working. I know that the app store does not have the paid apps available in it for the leaked version yet. I use PDAnet for internet for my netbook all the time for my business and need to know if it is still available and working on the leaked rom. Also is bluetooth tethering working now that it is 2.1?

View 25 Replies View RelatedI was following another site to see if the Eris was going to get rooted and I saw that a leaked update was discovered for the Eris. IT is suppose to be the one for January 22nd. It is not an Android update, just another update to fix any known bugs on the device. Has anyone on this forum tried it yet and if so what fixes did you notice.

I upgraded to 2.1 last Friday and have been very happy.No issues thus far.Being an early adopter,I wonder if there any later versions then what I down loaded last week. Of course, I should think about leaving well enought alone.I have a working Eris with 2.1.

i want to say that the leaked version of 2.1 was around 100 megabytes and Earlier today i received the offical OTA 2.1 from Verizon and it was only clocked in at 77 megabytes.
Talking to my stepdad, he was very interested in how one version can be different in size but "be the same".
I know theres another forums around here stating the two are the same (checksums and file details) but whats taking up that extra 30 megabytes on the leaked version?
I have the droid eris with the leaked 2.1 software. I am trying to figure any way possible to get the official update because of all the bugs and the market lacking certain apps.

View 13 Replies View RelatedHope you guys can help. Since the 2.1 update I have certain apps which appear to be opening in the background when I didn't open them. I have Advanced Task Killer, and when I go in for example it shows Messages running, when I kill it, it will reappear in 30 secs or so, the same with MP3 store. Can these apps be stopped so they don't take up memory or what's the deal here. Thanks for any help.

Google Maps & Latitude, Youtube, the Market will not load properly and will either give error messages or won't load at all. Gmail, Voice, Gtalk and the web still work. I have did a couple reboots, pulled the battery, cleared the cache and nothing has helped. Any suggestions short of a factory restore or the Verizon store?

I guess my question is this:What's the benefit of going with the OTA upgrade vs. the leaked 2.3.15 (which I can easily upgrade to from the .13 build)?Is it worth all the hassle at this point to even consider the OTA or should I just wait it out?The other thing is I can't really tell what the difference between .13 and .15 are and if there's even any difference between the OTA and the leaked .15 build. I'm pretty content with my phone the way it is now, esp. with Tranq ROM and REVO R2 theme. I just wanted to get some opinions before I go spend another night toying with my phone. Is there even anyone here that paid for the leaked 2.3.15 and now has the OTA that may actually know if there's a (noticeable) difference between the leaked and the OTA.

I've been reading about deodexing, ROMs, Themes etc. Alot of this is for the OTA 2.2 which I find in my searches. All this requires root, which I am now prepared to do.
Is this the best way/most current way to root the 2.3.9?
