I am lost with this new phone.
I figured out how ot add contacts but thats about it.

How can I add facebook to one of my home screens and myspace also?
I forgot to add when I look at youtube it wont let me watch any videos but I am connected to WIFI how come?
I have seen this question asked alot so here is how to on setting up your Yahoo email on the Eris.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI just got the Hero today, and have been trying all day to set up my email but nothing has worked.I've tried my yahoo (the account I prefer) and gmail, but neither work. I keep getting msgs from "incorrect user/password" to "mail server not responding".I've been searching online for a few hrs now trying everything and nothing helps.when I activated the phone the guy said that it would be a while before things like mms would be working; so would it take a while for the email to link up as well?
View 8 Replies View RelatedBecause Gmail doesn't do a good job of receiving emails sent to my POP3 accounts, I would like to use the Mail app on my Eris to receive all my mail, including my Gmail.I was able to set up my Mail app to receive my Gmail, but how do I keep the Gmail app from receiving mail going to my Gmail account?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to mainly just use gmail now since I get so much junk in my yahoo email. I just am wondering how I can have my mail forwarded to gmail.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter the OTA I have discovered (to my frustration) that the email I have been deleting from my Eris is being permanently deleted from my Yahoo Plus account. I have searched here and all over trying to see if there is new settings or what but can't find anything to include the "don't delete from server" setting for the account.
With my other yahoo accounts (free) I didn't have the option to keep them on the server and accepted that as it was a struggle to get the free accounts up early on.
Keep the emails I delete from my phone on the server?
If anybody knows I was wondering if there is a way to setup a yahoo mail account for free on the droid eris. From what I've heard it costs extra to sync my eris with my yahoo account.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there an e-mail app where I can configure my gmail, yahoo mail and hotmail all at the same place?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI remembered from my G1 days a way to sync the E-Mail app up to Yahoo's free (not PoP3) servers so I gave it try on my new BH2 and it works just fine:Here are the steps:
1. Enter Yahoo ID and Password (hint, just use your "username", not the whole joeblow@yahoo.com
2. Select Manual Setup
3. Setup IMAP
4. Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com
5. Port is 143
6. Security Type is "TLS (if available)"
7. Leave IMAP path prefix blank
8. Hit next
9. SMTP Server is smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
10. Port is 25
11. Security is again TLS (if available)
12. Check Require sign-in
13. Verify username and password
14. enjoy
To Sync up, you CANNOT be on WiFi (dunno why, maybe Yahoo has a deal with T-Mobile?).One other note: if after rechecking all your settings and it still says "invalid username/password" try going onto your Yahoo Account and change your "Location" to ASIA ! Weird I know, but for some reason, some people can't get this to work with US-English as their Yahoo Locale (not talking about your phone's settings here, all on Yahoo site end!).
What's up guys. I currently have an iPhone, but I am having to switch back over to the Verizon network due to various circumstances. Anyways, I am most likely going to get the Droid Eris...seems to be the best phone for me that Verizon has to offer. The Moto Droid is just ugly in my opinion, and I hate the keyboard it has.Back on topic, I have read that you cannot get Yahoo email on Droid phones. Is there any way that you can get around that system and get Yahoo email accounts synced to the phone without having to pay for Yahoo Plus? I attempted to search for the answer on here already, but I wasn't able to find one.
View 6 Replies View RelatedGot my google voice invite, set myself up with a new number and so far mostly everything is working great.
My only problem, is that when i get SMS, the phone isn't lighting up like normal. In settings, i have it set to blink status light when a text comes in but it's not working. Vibration works and it makes a dinging noise but no light. Anyone else have this problem?
I have been reading up on the concept of push email, and how it's supposed to be a huge battery saver (since in theory, the phone would only receive a notification of an e-mail, and not the actual e-mail itself). I have also been reading up on how the "Gmail" app's version of Push email is not the same as other Push e-mail software, in that it requires the phone to "Sync" whenever an e-mail hits the Gmail server. As a result, whenever I would try to turn Auto Sync off (supposedly to save battery), I would no longer be able to get my e-mail notifications in real time.
With this in mind, I attempted to find another application that would enable me to use Push email for my Gmail account, without having to "Sync" with Gmail's server. After messing around for a bit, I found that I could manually input my Gmail account info (Incoming Server, Outgoing Server, Username, Pass, Etc.) into the stock "Email" app that comes with the X. Once this was done, I was able to enable "Data Push" in the "Email" app's Settings menu (as well turning off any Polling intervals). By doing this, I was able to receive new Gmail notifications through the "E-mail" app, even when Auto Sync had been turned off. As a bonus, I received them around 15 seconds faster than I did with the "Gmail" app's version of Push.....
for some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have 2 email accts on my laptop. I have 1 gmail for personal (this is my gmail acct that's linked to my calendar, maps etc. this is the one that would be integrated with the phone), and 1 gmail for work emails (I only use this for the emails, no calendar, no sync etc). I would like to + accts on my Eris. Can I do this?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI love that Gmail emails come right away but my main email is Yahoo (and I have others) is there anyway to set it up for Push - or any other email.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWell this happened once before shortly after MR2, but it was short-lived, now, once again, no many how many times I soft-reset, check my settings, manually retrieve, whatever, my gmail does not appear to push.
View 8 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, whenever I send out an email to someone that's not in my contact list, it appears as a new contact under the people app, with the email address listed. I don't want it to automatically add these emails to my contacts. Is there a way I can stop this, besides un-syncing my Gmail account?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy phone has been trying to send an email from gmail for 2 days. it keeps saying unable to send and I don't know how to stop it. If I click on it, it takes me to the edit email account screen. When I go through the steps it says authentication failed even though my gmail account is fine. I don't know how to fix this. Also when I go to all programs I have 2 internet, 2 maps, and 2 navigator icons that weren't there before and won't delete.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got my Eris. So far it really kicks a$$. But I do miss Windows Live since I'm a hotmail user (no switch to gmail comments please). My desktop gmail through the web is set up to "Send As" my hotmail account, but if I send a new email via my phone, it sends it from my gmail username.I did a search and it was inconclusive. Does anyone know of a configuration to send new mail with the phones native email as a "Send As?"If not, does K-9 only poll gmail or is it a live sync?
View 12 Replies View RelatedLong time Hotmail user. Live Mail works great on Windows mobile of course. I know I can set up the Eris to poll foor hotmail but I have a question. Will email run smoother if I just forward my hotmail account to my Gmail? And if I set up my gmail through the internet UI to "Reply As" my hotmail account, will it also set that as my reply as when I reply via my Eris?
