I want the GPS and the airplane widget on my home.

HTC Droid Eris :: Got 2.1 Update - Cant Find Digital Clock - Weather Widget
May 15, 2010Girlfriend just got the 2.1 OTA update and there only seems to be one clock widget. What am I missing here? The android widgets only show an analog clock and I can't find any widgets under HTC widgets. Nothing. At all. No widgets whatsoever... Anybody had this issue, can help me out here? I'm waiting for my OTA update and would love to have this fixed before I get my phone updated.

May 27, 2010Just thought I'd tell you all about the experience I've uncovered with Lockbot and airplane mode as well as the workaround for it. Although I didn't really notice any huge problems with battery life, I decided to check out the 50% without signal bug. Sure enough I have it. So I switched into airplane mode briefly to clear the problem, which it did (0% without signal currently).The problem is that this knocked Lockbot offline and me back to the standard lock screen (including the one with the airplane when in airplane mode). I entered Lockbot and messed around a little, then exited. Normally this would enable Lockbot but no dice this time around.A reboot of course solved the Lockbot problem, but then I had the 50% bug again, which was of course fixed using airplane mode, which then naturally stopped Lockbot.What I found that worked was to use airplane mode to stop the 50% bug, enter Lockbot and uncheck enable Lockbot (disabling it even though it was already disabled), exit Lockbot, return to Lockbot and check the box again to enable it. Problem 'solved'.

Jun 13, 2010I took a long flight and put my phone in airplane mode. I got off the plane and it bounced out fine sent some texts and a call. The phone died that evening and has been stuck in airplane since the recharge. Will not go out of airplane and continually force closes com.android.phone. I'm in an area with extended network. If it makes a difference I'm on the 2.1 rooted version. Need Help. spending the summer in alaska working at a youth camp and this is kind of a pain with limited computer access and a messed up phone. Any help is appreciated.

Jan 16, 2010my Eris this morning and was greeted by 5-8 force close notifications for what seems like all of my critical processes. My status bar shows that I have no reception, and my lock screen says I'm in Airplane mode, but if I hold the End button down, it says AP mode is off. If I try to go into my wireless settings, Settings will FC. If I bring up the dialer, that will FC. If I click my Wireless Network toggle widget, then Sense will FC. Everything is FUBAR. I can't think of any recently installed applications that might have caused the problem... aside from the latest OTA patch. This was the first time my phone has been powered off since installing the latest OTA.

Dec 11, 2009I downloaded a couple of widgets one having to do with battery, wifi, bluetooth, and volume I believe... Well none of them worked and I'm pretty sure I uninstalled all of them. However on the most right side of the home screen it still says Problem Loading Widget.. Doesn't seem to be causing a problem but it is just really annoying.

Jan 16, 2010I'm just starting to get the hang of Sweeter Home Preview 2. And as many of you already know, some widgets (like Beautiful Home) won't update consistantly. I'm going to email the dev my finding so hopefully he can rectify this issue. But in the meantime, you can try this fix/work-around. My Beautiful Home widget has been keeping the correct time for almost 12 hours now ... through many edits, screen changes, and reboots. That was not the case just yesterday. What I finally did was experiment with the "Layer Level" parameter of everything on the screen. What I found was that if the Beautiful Home widget was on the highest level (10), that it will update with no problems. In fact, I have no other Layer Level 10 items on the screen where I'm using that widget.

Apr 24, 2010I am desperately trying to get my head wrapped around how to implement home screen widgets. Right now, I (finally) was able to get a button on my widget respond to a button press setting up an intent filter in the manifest.
However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to launch an activity when the button is pressed. Basically, here's the code i have...
What I really want to do, though, is start a new activity, not display a toast message. I know it has something to do with pending intents, but I can't figure out how to get that to work.

Jun 4, 2010This is driving me crazy. The phone is pretty much useless when this starts happening. I will be on the Main home screen and then it will start jumping Home screens as if I'm swiping to the left but I'm NOT swiping! Once it is on the last screen to the left it won't let me switch back to HOME. I can almost never do anything when this happens. I haven't dropped the phone. I've reset the G-Sensor. Has anyone experianced this? I've even done a Wipe of the device.

HTC Droid Eris :: HTC Sync Can't Find My Phone
Nov 25, 2009I can't sync between my PC, Vista 32 bit, and my Eris. I can mount the SD card and transfer pictures, etc. I have enabled USB Debugging. I have installed/re-installed HTC sync several times. I have disabled my virus software.I get the HTC Sync notification when I plug in the Eris, but when I tap it to start connecting, nothing. The PC bleeps at me as if it has recognized a new device, but the Eris never finds the HTC sync software (yes it is open). It finally reports that it can't find HTC Sync on the PC.The first time, Windows installed several device drivers, including the HTC driver. "My HTC" driver is visible in the Device Manager and reports it is working properly. This last time, I got a Windows Error stating the HTCVBTServer module had stopped working.I can't find any information on this.
