I updated to Ultimate Droid Extreme V7 and my phone worked great for a few days and is not bugging out. So I want to put my phone back to the stock ROM and get the verizon 2.2 update. How the heck do you do that?

I'm rooted now but want to go back to STOCK OEM. I have only found a way to get back to OEM but with a SHOLES ROM, I have not found anything to go back to a stock verizon "rom".Anyone have any links as to where I can find info in doing this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid that is rooted and I am to send it back after my replacement comes in the mail tomorrow.. I cannot access the boot recovery screen and the power button that puts the device to sleep has some sort of software glitch that requirers to press the power button numerous times to wake up the screen.. Otherwise the the device works fine.. I have managed to remove the SU .apk.. The only other changes I made while it has been rooted is to remove VVM, MP3 app and cooperate calander which are still hidden.. What do you think will be the outcome of this debaucle?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a quick question. My Droid screen is nonresponsive on the right side and also it will not allow me to slide it open to receive a call. According to several posts on this forum, the phone will most likely need to be replaced. My question is, since it is rooted, do I need to revert it back to stock before taking it to the Verizon store or will they know anyway? I do not want to waste my time reverting it back if they are going to know anyway that it is rooted. I know the warranty is voided since it is a rooted phone. Thank you for any advice that you may be able to give.

I like the eris a lot, mostly because of it's size and the senseUI, but a part of me yearns for the larger, sharper display of the moto droid. Now, I've noticed my eris is starting to chug slowly to do things like typing, changing apps and I'm not sure if it's just because I'm running a bunch of stuff at once or what, but its making me feel like I'd rather have the powerful processor of the droid as well.But, what if I get the droid and decide that I liked the eris better. Will I be stuck with the droid or can I return it and go back to the eris? I guess what I'm really looking for is an explanation of verizon's return policy and perhaps some feedback from those of you who switched from eris to droid.
View 13 Replies View RelatedThe Verizon Flash Update keeps trying to install on my Bugless Beast .4 phone. When I click "install" it reboots the phone, and tries to install but fails on the install and goes straight to Clockwork Recovery Mode. Then a couple days later it tells me to install the update again.
Does anybody know of a way to disable the update notification or successfully install the update so that it will stop bothering me?
My phone freezes up at least 6 times a day after the update. I have to do a battery pull to get it going again. I did a factory reset and formatted the sd card same thing happens. I called Verizon and they said they are having lots of calls from people with the same issue and a new software update will be coming out to fix it. She said that if they sent me a new phone it would have the same issue. Has any one else been told this?

For the last 3-4 days I have been able to access the vzw software update server (settings/about phone/software update) - whenever I do this I get the droid version of the endless hourglass and it never connects to the server to return the usual message that "your software is up to date" (or in fantasy-world, "froyo is ready for you to install, you lucky phone owner, press a button..."
This did NOT occur after I rooted the phone and seems to be unrelated to anything I did. I do not have any frozen or removed apps and apart from the rooting and few assorted root related apps, I am not doing anything that would affect this function (to my knowledge).
Been away from custom roms for a while. Is there a stock ROM to go back to if I ever needed to bring my Droid back in for service?

And now I am trying to sell my droid on ebay (if anyone is interested let me know!), but whenever I used RomManager to revert back to stock image. I get an error and it fails. I have already ported my number over to my incredible, so I can only use wifi. So what other way is there to go back to stock so I can wipe the device and sell it. Or is there some other way that I am not thinking of? Something on the phone, like stock image I can flash through clockwork recovery and be done? (if so anyone have a link?)

View 4 Replies View RelatedEveryone is always so concerned about unrooting, removing su, removing busybox, etc., and so-forth. Well, finally an extremely simply solution. Almost too simple. Go to the Market and install SholesMod Updater. Sure it's $5, but it does it all for ya. Just install the application like any other, then open it. Select "Stock 2.0.1 (No root)" and let it do it's thing. And no one is the wiser. Hope this puts some minds at ease.

1) I'm missing the Market app
2) I'm not receiving OTA updates (says system is up to date) Anyway to keep going without wiping?
That goes without saying but it appears that it flashes the bootloader so I would hold off on doing it if you like root.It could mean that we cant flash sbfs anymore, it could mean that we get a locked down bootloader and it could mean nothing,I am getting this from looking in the file and could be completely wrong though.

For some strange reason I can't seem to set-up my personal e-mail account on this Droid phone. I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
Finally couldn't take it any longer and installed the RUU then hours later I hear that the Official update.zip is slightly different with a change to gmail (and frankly, at this point, who knows what else.) Also I am seeing "make sure you have the correct "baseband"(?) So for me and I would imagine a few others. Can someone make this a nice clean and complete how to get from RUU to update.zip thread? I have seen a lot of bits and pieces of what it takes.
View 31 Replies View RelatedI've changed my Moto Droid to the Droid Incredible, I will miss and keep Moto Droid in my heart. (It also made me realize iPhone was just a platonic relationship). I'm selling it off to offset cost. It's already deactivated, I've been trying to use the Rom Manager to download a stock image but it keeps failing, apparently it doesn't want to use Wifi (tried in airplane mode too). Even then the version it downloads is rooted. I'd like to reset/wipe the phone down to 2.1 or 2.0.1 and a way to make sure OTA will work when it gets activated. How can I do this?
