I thought 2.1 would bring picasa support to our phones, since the moto droid on 2.1 has it, but apparently our photo gallery doesn't have this feature. It seems odd that they would include flickr and Facebook sync but not google's own service? Does anyone else have an app that will sync or access picasa? Their mobile site doesn't auto sync and doesn't let you view all your albums.

so, I'm having a problem syncing my photo gallery with picasa. whenever i go into accounts & sync in the settings i only see options for contacts, gmai, and calendar. is there something I'm missing?

Some contacts from Gmail successfully imported to the phone
Many still have not, including anyone who was a "favorite"
Some of the email address of my "favorites" have transferred over, but none of their phone numbers have
I let the sync go over night and the problem persisted
If i check it in setting, the sync will periodically say "there's a problem with the sync, check back shortly" but continue to attempt to sync
My battery drained today because the phone continued to try and sync unsuccessfully
Any tips on how to solve this problem?
I don't get how a phone that says google on the back, doesn't have access to Picasa. I understand some phones have this but I need something that will work on my eris. The mobile site works great but for some unknown reason you can't access all your albums. Mainly I'm looking for access but some kind of automatic syncing for pictures in my phone would be great.

Is there a way to have your images on your SD card backed up to Picasa as an automated process? I think I lost some recently after I did a factory reset the image numbers started over I think and it has overwritten about 50 images.

Under my account sync settings in Android, along with Gmail and Contacts and all that, I've got "Sync Google Photos" and "Sync Picasa Web Albums".
What's the difference between these two choices?
I am trying to use my new Droid to connect to our Exchange 2003 email. I can access it just fine when I am on the companies Wi-Fi (both OWA and Active sync), but when I try to connect from the internet, I cannot see either. Odd thing is that if I use Opera Mini 5 Beta on my Droid, I can connect to OWA, but the default browser wont allow it. My Iphone is working fine on both networks, so I know the system is working properly.

We have one staff member here that bought a Droid Eris (Verizon) and unlike the Motorola Droid, I can't get this phone setup via Active Sync to our exchange server. I setup his account on my phone (M Droid) and it worked perfectly...messages, contacts and calendar all synced up fine. I go back to his Eris, and it says the account cannot be created at this time. All the settings are the same etc., so I'm a little stumped. I called Verizon and they said to wait for the new 2.0 upgrade that's supposed to be coming, but they weren't sure if that had been addressed or not. Am I missing something, or does the HTC Droid Eris not fully work with Active Sync with MS Exchange 2003?

The only way I know that I can even see it is by doing a USB mount to copy files over to the MicroSD. I did some Googling and it looks like others are having the same problem. Just wondering if anyone found a work around. I have yet to try it on one of my XP machines.

I called and spoke with a tech at Motorola and said with the next OTA for the Droid 2 (which just happened) it was supposed to fix it, however it didn't. Does anyone on the inside have any insight as to what's going on? I'm back to using Improved Email for instant push delivery of my Exchange messages.
I did get the OTA the other day, and the version number did change, but nothing of significance.
Really starting to get pissed with this phone with I mostly use it for my job and e-mail. I shouldn't have to rely on a third party application for delivery of my e-mail. G-Mail works fine, but Exchange works about 5% of the time without me having to go in a do a manual refresh...then 10-20 messages pop up.
Fresh install and no longer rooted.
I want to connect to Picasa from an Android application (without interacting with any third-party application). I tried to Google it and found no tutorial / explanation.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my eris yesterday since I don't have a NE2 available and I wanted to get away from WinMo, in any case, I can't access my SD card from my Eris. I downloaded Astro Manager, went to sd card, it says it is empty. I connected my phone to my PC via USB, mounted it as a drive, and I can access the SD card and contents without a problem. I can even use the photo album on the phone to look at pictures that are on the card.
When I go to settings > sd card and phone storage it displays total space and available space as being unavailable and the option to unmount the sd card is grayed out. Pressing the menu button on this screen doesn't do anything. Running 2.1, not rooted. I not interested in rooting the phone since I don't need the WiFi tethering and the stock apps aren't bothering me. The phone was connected to the PC and mounted. I couldn't see the card from the phone when it was mounted to the PC. Why?
I'm trying to access the google 'my maps' I've created on my new Droid Eris. I don't see a layers option in google maps.
I downloaded my maps editor, and if I try to load a map, it just says "loading" indefinitely and never actually pulls up the map. There are only a couple dozen points on the map I'm trying, so it shouldn't take that long to load. I've tried deleting the app and re-downloading it. I've tried restarting the phone. I've tried accessing it by clicking a link in an email, all with no success.
I'm just dumbfounded that google's OS is making it so difficult to access a google map. Even my piece of crap WM5 phone could do that.
I can't access facebook through my phone, unless I navigate using the broswer, which is a pain.
When I try accessing my facebook through contacts, I get an error (phone -> menu -> people -> Updates and events == nothing for me to access). When I use my contact card (phone -> menu -> people -> my contact card -> facebook), the message "Sorry! The application HTC New (process com.htc.htcnew) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I force close, and nothing ends up happening.
And yes, I did sync my phone and sync facebook. I don't want to do a hard factory reset.
I want to know if there is any way to access XM radio via my Eris. I have a subscription for in my car. I know the options of Pandora, etc...but it isn't the same. Anyone know of a good solution?
