So when you enter a new contact, if you have your facebook account synced, it will automatically put the contact's picture in there for you...BUT when someone updates their picture (as I know some have) it does not seem to update under my contacts. How do I fix this?

Is there something I'm missing in some options elsewhere?
or is this just a bug in the 2.1 Root?
Is this possible? When you add facebook it replaces all contact photos and I don't see a way to change that.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo i added the facebook account to the droid 2 and thus my contact list shows all facebook contacts. If i delete the facebook account that takes those contacts out of my list. However, by doing so will I not be able to sync facebook photos with my current contacts now?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI installed the latest Facebook app on my Droid today and found that it synced most of my contact photos beautifully. (I chose the second option: only to sync photos with my current contacts) However, one minor issue and two less minor issues:
- For one of my contacts, the picture didn't sync. Dunno why but I guess I can just add the photo manually.
- Another thing is weird. After making a call I've noticed that in my dialer's "favorites" tab, there is a contact who I am friends with on Facebook but whom I do not have the number for, nor whom I have ever called at all! This person keeps reappearing (with FB profile pic and email address) in my dialer app, but the person is not in my actual Google / Android contacts.
Any ideas on how to fix that latter issue? Whenever I delete this person's listing from the Favorites tab, they keep reappearing after I make calls (to other people) O_o
Oh, and since we're talking about the Facebook app..
- Is there any way for Facebook to use the Android notification system to let me know about any new FB notifications? As it is, I'll be on the computer and see some new notifications, but on my Droid I have to manually refresh notifications in the app before it knows about them. Kinda weird.
When i first got the phone, i opened up facebook. It updated my contacts with everything on there. Then i went to text my friend and accidentally deleted her from my contact list. I put her number back in but it won't update from facebook or show up when i want to text her. Can someone help me out?

I've searched for threads/answers about this issue but I haven't found any...and I'm a noob to the forum (and 2.1) so bear with me / don't eat me alive.
I enjoyed the Facebook syncing on 1.5, but I don't really have any interest in bringing over my Facebook contact photos as caller ID pictures (it's annoying when someone posts a picture of a car, for example, as their default picture -- my friend is not a Toyota). I do like seeing status updates in my People app and having access to a unified "updates" panel in People.
I've gone into the "link" settings and changed the photo manually to the Google Contacts photo that I specified, and that works fantastically -- until Facebook for HTC Sense does its hourly sync and overwrites that preference with the contact's default Facebook picture AGAIN.
I've tried syncing, un-syncing, removing the sync option, etc. in the past 2 leaks and this problem remains. Am I missing something or is this just another annoying beta bug that HOPEFULLY will be gone in OTA?
Upgraded from the droid 4 to the droid max. Installed Facebook and my contacts won't sync. Went through Verizon forums and still couldn't get it. It will sync pics but not contacts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter installing Facebook 1.3 and 1.3.1 on my Eris with 2.1 my Google Contacts are stuck in a sync loop and draining my battery. It tries to sync, gets an error about contact sync not being available, tries to sync, gets error, etc over and over. Since I'm not able to uninstall Facebook, only uninstall upgrades, going back to an older version causes the non-stop syncing to stop. WOO HOO! Has anyone else experienced this? I want the new Facebook 1.3.1, but the I can't live without contact sync.

I see that no one has really answered this question.I know that the Android Incoming Call Screen displays a Facebook photo just fine, so I am not sure why I would need to do something different.Is there someone out there, from Google/Android, who can tell me what I need to do?

So I went to Albums and signed into my facebook page. I can see the photos and email them, but I cannot save them to my phone. If I open the contact, press the link and then press the drop-down that overlays over their image at the top-left, I can change the contact to use the Google picture - which I prefer.but the picture ALWAYS reverts to the Facebook one after a while. Why is this?I should note that the Google picture is not THEIR google picture in GTalk - it's one I uploaded for them.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor my closest contacts, I use the People widget that shows a "big" thumbnail photo for each contact. Most of my contacts are set to display their Facebook profile photo, and yes I'm one of the ones who has complained to HTC about it not updating.
However, a couple of days ago I noticed my Dad's picture had gone missing. He's not on Facebook, but his photo is synced to his Google Account picture. But now there's just the standard grey "no photo" icon. He definitely hasn't updated his photo, it's still there in Google Talk.
Just today I've noticed that 4 more people on this small contact list have also lost their photos. Weirder still, those contacts all have their picture set to Facebook ...
I've just run a "sync all" on my Desire and only one of those contact photos came back. A few still show the "no photo" icon.
Even weirder, is that other contact photos on the list did update to the most recent Facebook photo! Weird. I'll keep track to see if they update automatically. I don't have high hopes. (and my own profile pic still hasn't updated from a month ago)
(the sync all has also reset heaps of my contacts names back from their Google contact name to their Facebook or Google Account name.
How do I sync my contact in Outlook TOGETHER with their photos? When I sync, the photos in outlook is not transferred together...

Some contacts from Gmail successfully imported to the phone
Many still have not, including anyone who was a "favorite"
Some of the email address of my "favorites" have transferred over, but none of their phone numbers have
I let the sync go over night and the problem persisted
If i check it in setting, the sync will periodically say "there's a problem with the sync, check back shortly" but continue to attempt to sync
My battery drained today because the phone continued to try and sync unsuccessfully
Any tips on how to solve this problem?

I have added contact photos to my contacts using existing photos on the SD card. they are high resolution photos that look great on the phone screen even zoomed way in. When I use these same photos for a contact, and then that contact calls, the photo pops up showing they are calling, but the photo looks terrible.
I also see the terrible looking contact photos on LPP's People Widget.
Anyone know what is causing this? Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have great looking contacts photos show up when calls come in? I have a feeling this is happening when I add photos to contacts...not with photos that are coming through via contacts on facebook or google...not sure? Any ideas?
Does anybody know a program or app that i can sync my contact photos from my phone address book to my gmail or even outlook address book... with blackberry i could sync it to outlook then to gmail, but with the INC i have not found a solution.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my Droid since January and when I began to update my contact my friends that did not have facebook I would just go under an album and assign a picture off of facebook to their contact. When you go to the facebook picture from an album there was an option that said "set as". Well today I went to go try to set a picture to another friend and the "set as" option no longer shows up? Was that taken away with an update? Is there anyway to set a facebook picture from an album to a friend?
