Why is it that with "Sync of WiFi" and refresh interval at never, does my Facebook app STILL update and refresh on it's own?
Anyone else notice this? I am only on WiFi at home, but this thing syncs while at work for 9 hours and not connected to WiFi.

So when you enter a new contact, if you have your facebook account synced, it will automatically put the contact's picture in there for you...BUT when someone updates their picture (as I know some have) it does not seem to update under my contacts. How do I fix this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am always conscious of battery lately, this is actually kind of annoying. Its extra work to get the GPS enabled when trying to use google maps. Why can't it just auto enable when one touch? I don't enable all these features (except refresh for push email) bc I'm so paranoid about this darn battery.... Plus, I'm always killing apps. Just want to know what you guys keep running and how your batteries are fairing.

But don't know what apk to re-install so my contacts automatically update. I used syncmypix but I am not a fan of it. I have downloaded both system apps zip files. View 1 Replies View Relatedmy contacts have doubled since syncing with Facebook. There are some FB contacts I'd like to keep, and others I would like to delete. I plan on deleting those but don't want them to re-appear at a later date. Is there a way to turn off FB syncing after just the initial sync? I think that's my best option at this point.New here so thanks for the info in advance and I hope to get enough knowledge to help out on the forums soon.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the ota update last night and all my facebook contacts were deleted. I tried to reboot the phone, resync, and pulled up the app. When I opened the app it have the pics and thefacebook conact info, and that was it. Anyone else having this problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've tried 2 builds so far Koush's vanilla build and the Sapphire build and I've run into the same problem on both: whenever I login to Facebook, I no longer get the option to sync contacts. I'm curious as to whether this is a problem I'm having exclusively, or if it's something other people are running into too, and if anyone has found a way to make it work.Options to sync don't exist at all for me. When I go to settings in the Facebook app it normally would show a menu option for syncing, but on 2.2 I get no option. And when I go to the Accounts menu selection in system settings, I can select Facebook as an account to add but I get bounced back to the accounts list without being able to actually add an account.

I can run anything. I'm just looking for a way to individually sync facebook contacts to existing phone contacts. I don't need all 1000 of my fb friends on my phone. But the contacts I DO have on my phone, it'd be cool to have synced up to fb. Is there any way to avoid the "all or nothing" mentality of fb sync?

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo i added the facebook account to the droid 2 and thus my contact list shows all facebook contacts. If i delete the facebook account that takes those contacts out of my list. However, by doing so will I not be able to sync facebook photos with my current contacts now?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed the latest Facebook app on my Droid today and found that it synced most of my contact photos beautifully. (I chose the second option: only to sync photos with my current contacts) However, one minor issue and two less minor issues:
- For one of my contacts, the picture didn't sync. Dunno why but I guess I can just add the photo manually.
- Another thing is weird. After making a call I've noticed that in my dialer's "favorites" tab, there is a contact who I am friends with on Facebook but whom I do not have the number for, nor whom I have ever called at all! This person keeps reappearing (with FB profile pic and email address) in my dialer app, but the person is not in my actual Google / Android contacts.
Any ideas on how to fix that latter issue? Whenever I delete this person's listing from the Favorites tab, they keep reappearing after I make calls (to other people) O_o
Oh, and since we're talking about the Facebook app..
- Is there any way for Facebook to use the Android notification system to let me know about any new FB notifications? As it is, I'll be on the computer and see some new notifications, but on my Droid I have to manually refresh notifications in the app before it knows about them. Kinda weird.
So yesterday i went to my facebook app, a Captcha or whatever where you have to enter the letters correctly came up. I entered it correctly. Which the shit was weird cause never ever seen that before. Once i entered it, the app deleted itself and now i cant download it. But the facebook icon is still in my launcher and its the way older version. I am rooted with just the Revolution theme installed. I have Bootsrapper and rom manager. I also created a full back up before i installed REVOlution. Any one have any ideas on how to fix that?

Then i went to text my friend and accidentally deleted her from my contact list. I put her number back in but it won't update from facebook or show up when i want to text her. I have a rooted and themed DX, so I tried to even rename the facebook.apk to a backup, then install fresh from the market. The installation still fails.

I have already switched back to my old phone but I'm wondering is there a way I can get the update over Wifi so I don't have to put the Droid X back onto my line? View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since I insalled the update I can not look at mine or anyone elses profile on the full site of facebook. Its just blank, like it doesn't load properly. I'm using dolphin btw.
And also through the browser I go to click on a youtube vid and it never loads. Nothing happens. I have to copy and paste the link in the youtube app....its kind of a drag.
Is anyone else experiencing these issues? Is there a fix? Or am I just going to have to suck it up?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had no clue what it was until I checked the nav bar, and saw it was a facebook update. Wow, I thought, maybe they fixed the facebook app in the background without forcing me to update. Haven't seen the blue light since, and it has been 2 days and 7-9 notifications later.
Any idea when they will fix the facebook app? Or better yet, any idea how I got it to light up once randomly? It was somebody posting a comment on my wall post fyi (and the notifications still don't refresh in the app itself). Also, why can't I view linked youtube videos from other peoples comments? Obviously the droid can use youtube, so it seems odd that they wouldn't let you watch posted videos.
