Android :: App For Setting Different Ringtones For Each Person On SMS?
Sep 26, 2010Don't know if this is possible but i know it don't come standard on my phone (Captivate). i just moved over from razor and while it may seem un-needed, i really really miss the feature to have a different ringtone for ppl on messaging. which gets used a million times more than actual calls. lets me know whose texting if I'm not around the phone
Is there an app for setting different ringtones for each person on SMS?

Mar 18, 2010On test messages, on the left side is a silhouette of a person. I have the person's facebook picture on their people profile but it doesn't appear in the text message.

Jan 16, 2010I have seen the new HTC Droid Eris commercial a few times and it seems to fudge the truth when using the HTC people widget. You can clearly see in the commercial someone clicking on a person from the HTC people widget. However, after they click the person it brings up the person's information, as opposed to performing the default action specified for the contact. From my tinkering with this widget, it seems that you cannot actually perform the action they show in the commercial.

Jan 3, 2010I have experienced making a call where I can hear the other person on the line but they can't hear me. Also, why does ending a call take forever. Also the the voice dialer can't even recognize what I am saying it always gives me the wrong information in need. Is there a calibration for the voice dialer to train my voice?

Nov 29, 2009I'm used to my contacts being under a contacts setting/button/tangible thing. I had my contacts transferred into Google Contacts, which now sync to my phone. Is there a special way to have contacts actually on your SD card? Or do i just need to keep google sync on. I tried turning it off for battery purposes, but then all my contacts went away. I've set up HTC People, but I still don't know how to like just view my contacts, or quickly add a new person. Sorry if this is very newb, I just waited a really long time to get a smart phone, and the only one I've gotten to use has been an iPhone since i deal with them at work everyday.

Nov 11, 2010I have Nonsensikal ROM installed on this Eris and occasionally make my own mp3 ringtones. But they never show up in the default list of available ringtones. Is this by Eris design?I know how to add a custom ringtone but was just curious as to why I cant include it in the default listing area rather than having to go to my music gallery.

Any ideas on a workaround, or how to use the qcp as a ringtone instead?

HTC Droid Eris :: Ringtones And Notification
Jun 19, 2010I have a Droid Eris. I have Zedge. I have a certain notification sound that I downloaded from Zedge. It shows up on the list, but there is apparently no sound associated with the item in the list. I manually downloaded the notification to my phone to see if it would play on the phone at all...and yes, it does. But I can't select it from the music player to be a notification sound...all that lets you set is the main phone ringtone...and I don't want it for that.
I hooked up the phone to my PC and made sure all the files were in their correct and happy places...notifications in notifications folder, ringtones in ringtones folder, zedge in zedge.

Apr 17, 2010How do I set different folders for my ringtones and mp3's? I put some ringtones as well as mp3's on my phone. When I open up the music player app, it shows my ringtones and mp3's all together. How do I keep them separate? I don't want my ringtones playing in my music app. The same issue applies to my pictures. I have some small pics that I'm using as my caller ID contact pics, I have some camera pics, and then a few wallpaper pics. I"d like to have them separated when I open up the Albums app. How do I do this?

When I attach a file and pic to send as mms in handscent they are all alphabetical but in 2 sections. i'll scroll down through a-z, then after that it starts a-z again with other rigntones. They are all stored in same folder. Why is there 2 sections of ringtones instead of just all in one a-z list?
