View 2 RepliesI can't be 100% sure which one it is. But I installed Nonsensikal 13.2 about a week ago, love it, and was about to basically settle on this as my default rom until Saturday. Starting Saturday my phone has become non-responsive about 5-6 times. Meanin the lock screen won't come on, and the power button will not turn the phone on or off.I'm assuming this means that the phone is still on when this happens, because if it had just powered down randomly I'd think the power button would turn the phone back on I have to pull the battery out and power it back on to start working again. I don't have setcpu or autokiller running, but I am running juicedefender (in case any of that is helpful for anybody.)

View 2 Replies View Relatedjust got a Droid Eris a few weeks ago. All of a sudden, on a somewhat regular basis (4-5x in last week), the phone will just shut off and the only way to turn it back on is to remove the battery. This occurs even when the battery is not even close to empty (today, for example, an hour after coming off the charger all night).
This is quite a troublesome issue, and before I decide what to do regarding keeping it, exchanging it for a new one, or returning it and holding out for the N1 or Incredible, I'd like to see if anyone has input regarding this issue.
So the phone has been a bit quirky since the OTA, but nothing major. However, today I was on the internet and the phone totally crashed and then began to reboot. However it has been stuck in reboot mode since then, going from HTC to Verizon screens over and over. I've removed the battery twice, and let it sit, and nothing. Still stuck. It was not charging and I do not have it rooted. It just plain crashed.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've tried AutoLock and LockBot and maybe I didn't set an option correctly, but I can't seem to get a password or pattern unlock after a reboot/power off/on cycle. Both work fine during normal power on operations, but when I power cycle the phone it just comes up with the normal swipe unlock right into an open Eris with no password/pattern required. Kind of defeats the purpose by allow a bypass of the security.Maybe I'm missing something here or having a Homer moment.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst off, I apologize if I start a new thread when one already exists. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything related to my issue.
The issue:
When I have to restart my phone, all apps stop responding, including phone, google apps, everything. I can't make calls, I don't have a signal, nothing works really. The solution: uninstall recently installed applications, and that fixes it.
However, I wonder if there is something else going on causing this. The reason: Yesterday I installed Backgrounds (a popular 4-5 star application from Android Market). I had to reboot my phone (locked up), when I did, nothing was responding, got messages like acore, gapps, and other apps stopped unexpectedly. I removed Backgrounds, restarted again, and everything worked. My wife uses Backgrounds, but her phone doesn't stop working when she has to restart. Why is this happening on my phone? Is there another app causing interference?
How do I do a system reboot for my Droid Eris? People cant hear me on the other line so I was told to reboot, but I don't know how.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I thought I heard something that you should power down your smartphone each night. Is this something I should be doing? And is it just that turning it off and then back on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just done a nand backup, then unrooted (downgrade), then used Unrevoked to root and did a nand restore. Btw that took forever! Anyway after it was said and done the phone rebooted, and viola everything was back on there. The only hitch is since I have done the restore my phone has shut off by itself 3 times. I was ever so reluctant about doing the whole Unrevoked process and this is why. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Update: It hasn't turned off since after the third time so I guess it's stable now.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Desire HD succesfully and had no problem flashing roms and learned a little about rooted device abilities. However, no matter which rom i used, when trying to power down the phone it would power off and boot into clockwork mod. I could never actually power the device off. I now have a Note 2 that i would like to root but I am worried I wont be able to power off my Note.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI see trident posted a sticky last night, yesterday I lost 3g at work that is 500 yards from a tower so I know it was not signal loss and the only way I could get it back was to do a factory reset but this has happened to me a couple of handfull of times. Never once had a problem on 1.5.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I reboot my eris, ATK shows me running at around 98-107 RAM memory, but after a while it seems to go lower. It falls like 10mb per day. It's day three since reboot and I'm at 71 with no apps running. My regular use is mainly web browning, txts, and calls. Do we have to reboot these devices all the time or am I missing something.
View 25 Replies View RelatedI rebooted my HTC Eris a few minutes ago and when it turned back on I got like three error messages:
1. The application Flexilis Mobile Security (process com.lookout) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
2.The application Google Maps (process com.google.android.apps.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
3. The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Also when I try to open "settings" I get an error message for that as well as "phone".also do not have service! I think I killed my android!
Anyone else having problems with error messages when they install apps? I was in the habit of installing multiple applications from the market before rebooting, but started having problems with the phone not working and getting other error messages so I now try to reboot after each install. I just tired to install and run advance task killer (ATK) twice and after each reboot I'd get at least 2-3 errors. If I uninstall it and reboot all seems to be ok. Same happened with Bloo and an AK-47 app (game).
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have had my Eris for a few weeks and have come across one really annoying problem...evertime I reboot the phone several of my third party apps rename themselves and the icon mutates into something else. The only way to fix is to uninstall/reinstall, but as soon as I reboot it does it all over again. The apps I have problems with:
Google Sky Map
Where
Layar
My Coupons
TasKiller
I dropped my phone (htc eris) in snow but it didn't submerge and I checked the water damage indicator and it still has the little red x's on the white strip so there was no water damage. But now the phone is randomly stuck in headphone mode. I have searched the forum and the only fix people have mentioned is rebooting and taking out the battery... That doesn't work for me.
View 2 Replies View Relatedlast night went from 2.1 to 2.2. Now when I turn off the phone or reboot it with bootstrapper etc it gets stuck at the M but.. If I pull the battery it boots up fine...any ideas? Or a way to fix?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have SPRecovery (haven't updated it in a long time) on my phone as well as the latest version of ClockworkMod/ROM Manager. I cannot install or backup ROMs because RM won't reboot into SPRecovery. Also, I cannot manually reboot into SPRecovery...power + X takes me right to the Motorola flash screen. What's going on here?
How can I check to see if I have SPRecovery installed? Sorry, but it's been awhile and although I've been rooted for a long time and have flashed many ROMs, I don't do it often any more and I'm afraid that somehow (I have NO idea) that SPRecovery may have been removed or something...even though I have the latest version of clockworkMOD/ROM Manager.
I rooted my phone Friday and it is now Tuesday(Got my phone in August). I installed some apps that are rooted only. Tethering, Overclock Widget, Titanium Backup, ROM manager. When I tried to install a new ROM I was getting download errors. I saw something about ADW.Launcher so I downloaded that and got a theme for it. Today when I reinstalled the Cyanogen 6.0.0. Stable release and rebooted my phone I would get to the Motorola Symbol. After that I got to my custom boot image(Dancing Droids). The image got half way doing its animation it restarted from the begging this continued until I took out the battery. Went into recovery mod and the Cyanogen boot image appeared and did the same as my Dancing Droid but completed 1 1/2 circles with the blue flame. When I got home I plugged in my phone flashed a 2.2 FRG22D.sbf file. I then used RSD lite and connected my phone. Had some trouble flashing the file but eventually got it. When I went back to the boot loader screen and cleared my cache/data(thought it would help) I restarted my phone. Watched and Motorola symbol appear and posted this 1 hour later. Can someone please tell me what I did wrong or what to do?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've been rooted for quite some time to it. Not exactly an old pro, but I know my way around at this point. At any rate, I decided to give the BatteryLeft widget a try today since I went to Fab's xTheme and it didn't have a battery percentage in the notification bar. The dev recommends that you let your phone completely discharge a few times so that it can accurately predict the remaining percentage and the time until the battery dies.So I let the battery completely discharge and I connected it to my home wall charger to begin recharging. The problem I have been having is that my phone will not stay powered off and continually tries to boot up. I tried charging via car charger, USB and in the media dock and I had the same result.
The problem is that the phone won't charge long enough to stay powered on and continue to charge. The process of rebooting seems to prevent the phone from charging appropriately and uses up the small bit of the charge the battery gets for the 2-3 seconds before rebooting.I tried rebooting into CWR and letting it sit to gather enough charge to stay up, but that doesn't seem to have worked either.I'm at a loss for what to do. I can't get the phone to stay on to do anything, I can't get it to stay off to charge.
Anyone try this out yet? Root Required, Hot Reboot app cuts reboot time in half for Android phones
View 4 Replies View Relatedhow do i navigate after i reboot in recovery mode, i can't seem to change the highlight to any thing other than "reboot system now" vol keys do not do anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that you can now add a "Reboot" button to SwitchPro that works a lot like Quick Boot. This is GREAT! and I am super excited. When you press the button, you're given the option for Reboot/Recovery/Bootloader (also awesome!).
The problem is... it doesn't work!
Is this an issue with my Eris/ROM or are other Eris users experiencing the same? If so, I'd be happy to ping the SwitchPro dev to see if a solution can be found.
Is there a way to add a reboot option to the window that comes up when you hold down the end key?

Here's what I'm doing:Hold down the power button until the popup menu appears Select "Power off" Select "OK" The phone then says its shutting down. View 9 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed this? I got my wife an ALLY, she loves it. When I went to charge it, I powered it down and and when I plugged it in, the phone took it upon itself to start back up. Not a real issue, but I find it a bit odd.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe just swapped my wife's Fascinate it for a new one because it was buggy on her. Got the new phone in last night and all seemed to be going well. She used it until the battery was gone and plugged it in. Well, I just powered it on and got this.
