Anyone else had an issue with powering up? I now have to push all of my power cords down to get a charge now. If I just plug it into the phone, no charge. It's until I jiggle the cord, is when I get a charge.
Anyone else had this issue? I might take it back in for a new one soon.

When I plug in the micro-usb plug into the droid x it doesn't seem to charge the batteries and I have to unplug the A/C wall plug and replug it before it will start charging. I have looked at the status when I first plug in the USB port into the droid x and it says "power source plugged into USB" and then status is discharging. This doesn't seem normal to me, and I don't see why I have to unplug and replug the A/C plug everytime. Is there some chip which is just not registering correctly? Do I need to go to a verizon store and get it checked out?

A pc puts out 500mA through usb as most of you know and I find it takes awhile to charge this phone through my pc. My pc is also in the basement while my room is 2floors above that and I generally like to charge my phone next to my bed while I sleep. How many amps does the ac wall charger put out? Also I have a usb power supply thing that puts out 5volts at 2amps. Would this be too much for the phone/battery and kill it?

I've found the Settings/Applications/Development "Stay Awake" checkbox, but the screen still dims down after 30 seconds, though it doesn't go completely off.Is there a way to keep the screen on?All the WinMo phones I had had two separate profiles one for on battery and one for when on a charger, and you could set the screen brightness and timeout independently for each power profile.The reason for this is that I have a dashmount cradle of sorts that I use, and I generally put the phone in it and plug it in when I'm driving any sort of distance. I do things like look at the phone signal, see if new mail comes in, etc. while driving, and it's just reassuring to look down at the phone and see it doing something without having to hit the power button.

For example, I have a Galaxy Note 2 running Jellybam and every time I turn the power off and plug it to a charger it friezes at the charging screen where there's a turning circle. Therefore, I just want to find away to get rid of the old charging screen and add a new one to try to fix the problem. This shows a battery with a certain part shaded in to presumably indicate how charged it is and I suppose if its charging or not. There are some dots below the battery. What do they show? There are 5 dots that progress from left to right (empty are area to full area), does this indicated that the battery is charging? Does the rate of progression indicate how fast its charging? Do the dots do something else if the battery is discharging? Is there are lighting bolt inside the battery if its charging?
I have searched and searched and never seen an explanation of this powered off screen, which are slightly different depending on devices (some have charge indicator (i.e., "90% charged") and some just have the dots, some have lightning bolt inside battery some do not).

It came rooted with the XTRsense rom, overclocked, apps2sd, etc. The phone runs great and the battery life seems decent, however, it won't charge. When I plug it in, the battery icon shows that it's charging, but when I unplug it, the battery is still at the same percentage. I left it charging overnight last night, and it was still at like 40% life this morning. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? If it's hardware related, I don't mind popping it open if it saves me from dealing with the hassle of returning this phone and going back to my Storm.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a standard HTC Eris travel AC charge that I bought. Worked awesome. Charged Phone nice and fast. When I would plug it in. The battery widget would show a little plug.
Now when I attempt to plug the phone in. It thinks its charging by usb. Taking the phone off charge and replugging it in. It tells me its now charging by ac. If i touch the phone a tiny bit it will stop charging. Touch the wire and it begins to charge again. Only as usb. When its clearly plugged into the ac charger.
If i plug the phone into my car charger it say ac. I just dont get it.
Now when i left work. I attempted to tether the phone via pdanet. Now the phone wolnt go into usb debugging. Phone charges but computer wolnt recognize it.
Ive tried the usual. Power cycling both computer and phone. Tried restarting both computer and phone. As well as changed cords and chargers. All do the same thing. I fear maybe some of the contacts are bad on the phone.
How do I power the phone off? Is there a manual somewhere out there? Mine only came with a book called 'Tips, Hints and Shortcuts.' I have a mac... is there anyway to sync this to my computer? Also how do I put files onto the phone... I have mounted the phone onto computer and can see it but I don't know where to put the files. When using the phone, can you rename folders? How do you manage these folders? Also is there a way to remove all the crap software that comes loaded.... amazonmp3, no thanks!.... Peep, no thanks!.... I read about "rooting" but this seems complicated, is there maybe an application that does it for you?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had an issue today where I took the phone out of my pocket to check the time and it was powered off. I went to turn it on and no skateboarding-robot love. I thought the battery might have died, but one hour and two different chargers later, it still did not turn on. My co-workers Eris was the test subject for the battery and other components. It would not turn on at all and there was no charging light showing, either.
I called Verizon and I should have my replacement device on Thursday. Until then, I'm rocking (if you'd call it that) a Blackberry Tour. It feels weird. Other than Google Voice I doubt I'll even install any apps....
I wonder if I'll get one with 1.5 and I can root it. I had already installed 2.1v2 on it. I am excited about rooting, wifi tether, and so on. There's some great ROMs out there. I actually hope it does NOT come with 2.1 already. I'll fill all of you in!
