Sprint HTC Hero :: Looking For Charging Dock Cradle
Apr 11, 2010Does anyone have or know of a good charging dock that is both functionally and aesthetically good? I've seen plenty on eBay and random accessory sites, but most of them are very square/blocky and very unattractive. I've also heard that the MyTouch 3G dock works, but doesn't fit perfectly so I'd like to stay away from that.

Jul 20, 2010I don't plan on upgrading phones for a while since I am pretty happy with this one, and I have been thinking about getting a charging cradle so it would keep the phone upright while charging. From what I understand, even with a dock/cradle this phone is not like some of the others that are on the market, so when you connect it to the cradle all it will do is charge. It won't display the clock, or weather, or anything along that line. So, buying a dock is pretty much a waste of money, right? Or is there a way to have it display that info upon cradle?
I know that the phone does come with a clock program, but it doesn't launch on connect which seems really pointless, unless there is a way to have the application launch. Plus, when it is displaying the time it doesn't bounce around the screen so I am kind of nervous about burning the screen in that area (like what would happen with old computer monitors/tv's).
HTC EVO 4G :: Light Leakage From Charging / Hdmi Out Ports?
Jul 11, 2010I have some light leakage from the ports on the bottom of the phone. It only happens when the capacitive buttons are lit. The screen seems solid, not separating from case. Will this eventually lead to dust under the screen or not an issue to worry about?

I'm looking for a way to detect that the screen attached to the HDMI out has been turned off, or is in sleep mode, either through a command-line tool or a Java app. So far, I've figured out how to detect whether there is something connected by checking the contents of this node in sysfs: /sys/class/display/display0.HDMI/connect
However, this only reports whether something is connected, not whether it's on or off.
I also tried using the isScreenOn() method in Android's PowerManager API to check the power on state, but it always returns true, regardless of whether the screen is on or off.
Does getting the external HDMI's power state is possible on Android?
Samsung Fascinate :: Desk Cradle Starts Without Cradle
Nov 13, 2010I have an issue with my desk cradle app. It somehow magically is now linked to my home button. Everytime I press the home button, my desk cradle app starts. It does it even though I restart and do a battery pull. I do have the desk cradle that I use. Has anyone seen this before, and is there a simple fix for it? thank you.

Apr 6, 2010I just got a used LG Eve but it didn't come with an ac wall charger. A pc puts out 500mA through usb as most of you know and I find it takes awhile to charge this phone through my pc. My pc is also in the basement while my room is 2floors above that and I generally like to charge my phone next to my bed while I sleep. How many amps does the ac wall charger put out? Also I have a usb power supply thing that puts out 5volts at 2amps. Would this be too much for the phone/battery and kill it?

Aug 3, 2010I would like the screen to stay on (on whatever brightness it's normally set at) when connected to external power. I've found the Settings/Applications/Development "Stay Awake" checkbox, but the screen still dims down after 30 seconds, though it doesn't go completely off.Is there a way to keep the screen on?All the WinMo phones I had had two separate profiles one for on battery and one for when on a charger, and you could set the screen brightness and timeout independently for each power profile.The reason for this is that I have a dashmount cradle of sorts that I use, and I generally put the phone in it and plug it in when I'm driving any sort of distance. I do things like look at the phone signal, see if new mail comes in, etc. while driving, and it's just reassuring to look down at the phone and see it doing something without having to hit the power button.

Feb 16, 2010Anyone else had an issue with powering up? I now have to push all of my power cords down to get a charge now. If I just plug it into the phone, no charge. It's until I jiggle the cord, is when I get a charge.

General :: How To Customize Power Off Charging Screen
Feb 2, 2013How to customize the charging screen of the phone when the power is off. For example, I have a Galaxy Note 2 running Jellybam and every time I turn the power off and plug it to a charger it friezes at the charging screen where there's a turning circle. Therefore, I just want to find away to get rid of the old charging screen and add a new one to try to fix the problem. Where the charging screen files locate in the root and where can I find the custom one to replace it. I've tries Nomoarpower from Chainfire but it seems doesn't work even the system files are installed as after the power is off it always brings me back to the frozen charging screen instead of the new one.

Oct 28, 2013When the android device is powered off (shut down completely) and plugged in you can hit the power button briefly. This shows a battery with a certain part shaded in to presumably indicate how charged it is and I suppose if its charging or not. There are some dots below the battery. What do they show? There are 5 dots that progress from left to right (empty are area to full area), does this indicated that the battery is charging? Does the rate of progression indicate how fast its charging? Do the dots do something else if the battery is discharging? Is there are lighting bolt inside the battery if its charging?
I have searched and searched and never seen an explanation of this powered off screen, which are slightly different depending on devices (some have charge indicator (i.e., "90% charged") and some just have the dots, some have lightning bolt inside battery some do not).

Sep 7, 2013I've noticed that none of the new phones coming out have HDMI out on them anymore. I've got a Razr Maxx that I'm looking at replacing and was looking at the new Droid Maxx but I'm concerned about the lack of HDMI out. I'm a boater and have a TV on my boat. I connect my Razr Maxx to my TV with a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable and watch Netflix when I'm on the. I'd hate to give that up but also realize that my Maxx won't last forever.
Any new phones that do have HDMI out?

Jan 5, 2010Has anyone had any luck with aftermarket power supply's. I'd like a car/ac charger or a stand alone power pack. I usually use my DEXIM. but it does not work with the Behold 2. I've tried a car charger/battery unit by Wireless Gear that said it was compatible with all Samsung phones, it came with 5 power tips and a USB outlet that still would not work, even using the OEM USB cable. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will go with OEM Samsung if necessary, but there selection is limited.

I just want to ask though how other people set up their home screens (I'm seriously lacking imagination) I'd like to know of what widgets & apps are must hav's!Also, I have dedicated my far left screen as a 'car' screen which i've got a music widget on and google navigation icon... I'm after some other really good apps to use while being out in the car and while travelling around the country, any suggestions?One more thing, I'm after a car cradle to use the navigation, but the speaker on the phone is really quiet... is there a satnav with a speaker built in, or can you get cigarette lighter powered bluetooth speakers? I only want to be able to hear what the phone's satnavs saying really.
