Before I rooted, when I plugged in my Eris to the computer the screen popping up which had my choose either charge only, disk drive, or HTC sync would pop up, however after I rooted that screen doesn't pop up, nor is it in the notification bar. The debugging mode notification still pops up though.

I noticed that if I leave the OEM Eris USB cable plugged into my tower & Eris that the tower will freeze just after CMOS flash screen during PC boot up. It took me a few minutes to figure it out and I do not know what would cause that.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI paired EVO with my HP HDX (model HDX X18T-1200 CTO) easy enough, but it says 'paired but not connected' on my phone. I'd want to utilize this for PDAnet and file transfer if possible but hit a brick wall since it won't connect. I'm wondering whether this is something on the computer side of things, I've never done it before (because the hero would never be discovered on bluetooth) so I am curious as to how to proceed.

Usually, I have my HTC Hero connected to the computer via USB and I launch the application either in debug mode or in normal mode.
So, the last time I ran the app in normal mode. Then I disconnect the device (I want to try to have it "free", not connected to computer) and I start the app from the menu. When I do that I get a popup saying "Application xxx is waiting for the debugger to attach" and there it stops and eventually dies.
Why is it waiting for the debugger, when the last time I ran the app (while connected) I didnt run it as Debug?
I want to backup my SD card every time I connect it to a computer.
I want this in case i lose my phone and SD card completely. I have insurance to replace everything but the data can't be bought.
Is there a way to set this up on my computer or through my Droid X?
I am currently extending my media center setup. Right now it is Windows-based, and I have used a lot of app/server combinations to control Media Player/Media Center, which I am pretty happy with.
Now my problem is that I have bought an iPod dock that just connects the iPod via USB to my HTPC, which makes it possible to directly and 100 % digitally play music from the iPod. I have been looking for an app/server combination to remotely control the iPod playback from my Android device, but haven't found anything. There are a lot of apps to remote control iTunes, but which can also control an iPod connected via USB?
Using Windows 7 - can change to Linux if that will do it, 32/64 bit doesn't matter. HTC Desire Z using Android 2.3 or 4.0 doesn't matter what is required - I just want to find a way of doing this.
(If the app/server combination also will control Media Player/Media Center, it is a plus, but not a requirement as I already have another app for that.)
My Droid shows my Mac computer under Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth Devices >. I can see it listed and it says "Paired but not connected". I then, on my Mac under the BT control panels, see "Droid" listed and it is also "paired but not connected."
Well, when I tell my Droid to "connect" via Bluetooth Settings > Bluetooth Devices > press my computers name (or long press and select "Connect") it grays out and says "connecting" and then my computer shows it as "connected". But, in a few seconds, the Droid reverts back to "Paired but not connected" and the Mac then also goes back to showing the Droid as "Not Connected".
I want to try this app that allows me to use my speaker and mic on my Mac to take and place phone calls, via BT, on my Droid - but I can't get the 2 to stay "connected" via BT. They pair, but wont connect. It pairs perfect with my car instantly every time.
What is the reason that some charger make the phone thinks is connected to a computer. I just bought and IGO micro juice 2.1 amp. when connected make the phone think that is connected to a computer.I notice when that happen the phone charge super slow even with this charger rated at 2.1. if I run to apps at the same time its start discharging. MY 3 year old Igo charge alot faster even running a few apps at the same time.Is there any way that change that I feel that i waste my money with this charger if i canot make it charge like is a 2.1 amp.

I'd like to remove a few of these, as well as add things like "InstantUp" so I can use the Share option as a tool to quickly upload files to my server. Has anybody managed to do this with their rooted X?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI tripped walking down the street with my friends today beyond skinning and cutting up my arms and knee's and getting road rash the fall also took a nasty toll on my incredible. It cracked throughout the screen and it is slowly turning a greenish tint color around the cracks and throughout the screen. It is becoming completely unusable. I got my original droid incredible back in may and I just received a like new replacement a week ago. I do NOT have insurance. What are my options here? I have also invested over $170 into this phone through cases, extended battery and micro SD card.

It had options like "bootloader" and "power down" on it so I used the rocker bar to scroll and get out of it by powering down. My question is this: Someone I know was talking about spyware that can be put on laptops and computers and now this happened when they were around. Is this just a glitch or could it be indicative of spyware having been put on my phone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Evil Eris 2.0.1, and about 20 mins ago I plugged in my phone and it says debugging is enabled, but the USB options screen, with mount, charge, etc. didn't appear. What I was doing was trying to get the eclair lock screen, so I had installed the .zip through the restore screen. When I rebooted, I could no longer see the screen. I tried removing startup manager, which people said caused problems, but still it didn't work. I restored to a nandroid backup from before the lock screen change and that didn't work. I'm restored to an earlier backup when I knew everything worked and when I boot, debugging comes up but the usb options do not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two galaxy s3's and on one of them the screen lock gives me options to change it to how long i want it to wait until my screen locks and asks for a pin number.
However on the other one it is automatically set to immediately, how can i change this to 4 mins for example, it doesnt give me the options? It locks straight away and its annoying to have to put the pin in every time i pick up the phone as i am on it alot. Is there different versions of this S3?
I restarted my phone because it was freezing and it turned on on the boot screen where it gives me options to Recover, Reboot, etc. The volume button broke a long time ago. It sometimes works to move the option but pushing the power button doesn't do anything. Is there anything I can do to restart my phone avoiding this screen? It goes there every time. Could one of the volume buttons be stuck?

I tried the (Google ?) keyboard available from the market (AnySoftKeyboard) but didn't like it.
I would like for the screen to not time out only when connected to usb. I thought i saw that setting before, but cant find it anymore.

When it said "device not found" I tried to sync it only to find out that now I have no options to sync or mount. When plugged in by usb I get nothing in the notification bar at all. It will charge but now I can't even mount my phone

I still wanted SMS and Email to come in, but I wanted those to be silent.I realize I can dive down into Menu > Setting and do it manually, but I'm looking for something simpler like an app or widget.I could turn off Mobile Network via a widget, but like I said above, I still want SMS and Email to come in, just not make a sound.Any ideas?
