HTC Droid Eris :: Phone Forces To Close Most Apps / Way To Fix?
Jun 5, 2010I have a Droid Eris, but recently its become super leggy and forces closes on most apps. Even the phone function is becoming quite the hassle.

HTC Droid Eris :: 2.1 V3 Forces Sense UI To Close Alot
May 5, 2010It isn't easy to summarize the problem in the title.So in 1.5 or 2.1 v1 or v2, it was very rare for the Sense UI Home app to have to re-launch.By this I mean when you click the home or back button to return to your Home screen, instead of seeing the home screen you see the black screen with HTC on it, then you wait while it loads the Home application.This very rarley happened before v1.3. Now it seems to happen at least once or twice a day.I don't have more apps installed than I did before, I shouldn't be any more out of memery than I was before.

Jul 2, 2009I have uploaded application to market and met weird problem which I never received before - when I click "Open" button when the application is installed I receive error dialog and the application is forced to close. I do not have this problem when start application from desktop launcher panel. I have already receive 2 stars for that though the exception even comes not from my cod - very unpleasant surprize from market app.
Application uses vibration and declares corresponding uses-permission "android.permission.VIBRATE" - this is what the exception tells me about, but I can't see such problem with other apps that use vibration on market.

HTC Droid Eris :: No Option To Close Apps
Oct 21, 2010Why is it that Andoird apps don't have a close or exit. Having to hit the escape key a bunch of thime to exit an application.
In that regard the RIM OS works much better. I knew exactly what was running and what I wanted to close.
It is particularly annoying with the internet app. One has to navigate backwards through as many sites visited for the stupid thing to finally close.

I noticed recently that when I sit my Droid on top of my iHome (yes, I have an iPod), the dock home screen appears as if I had just placed it into my dock. 2. The phone came with handcent messaging app which is cool but what is not cool and semi annoying is every time I get a text message it alerts me with the original app and that one. and if i check one the other one does not always clear the alert.

Mar 24, 2010I have been running the old leaked version of 2.1 on my phone since the day it was leaked. Today I installed the "new" leak, and now when I restart my phone I get an error saying, "the process com.htc.bg has to close due to an unexpected error." Then it makes me force close the process. My questions are, 1) does anyone know what this process is for? and 2) How do you suggest I fix this issue? Should I re-download from a different mirror? Dec 6, 2009As I continue to downlaod and try new apps, I notice that some of the permissions that some of them have are/is: "Prevent phone from sleeping". I didn't think much about it, but after conditioning my phone...for a few days I was getting around 11% awake time, now after a few of these apps after a recharge this AM I am showing 26%...before the charge my awake time was very high again. I always use Adavanced Task Killer after messing with the phone, 9/10 trials.

Mar 4, 2010I stepped on my first Eris (don't ask) and had to get a replacement through Asurion. Well, I thought when I got my new phone I would be able to redownload all the apps I had purchased but I cant. The Market wants me to pay for them all again. I guess the market tracks you specifially with your phone, not your account. So I called Verizon, of course they were no help. The chick didn't even try to help, I asked her if I could get those apps back and she stalled for a second like she really didnt know but also didnt want to take the time to find out, then she said NOPE. I was like man, that sucks, she said YEP! That was the end of the conversation. Surely there is a way for me to get these apps back without paying for them again? I know they are inexpensive but when you have 10 or so they start to add up! Not to mention I had my first phone for less than a month and hardly got to enjoy the apps I purchased. I've thought about emailing the dev's but dont know if thats a good approach or not.
