Oct 6, 2010I am having many problems with force close on many apps. Most of them factory apps, and then lag after the force close on other apps.

View 2 RepliesWell I have issues. I always think that my phone isn't running the way it should or could. I have installed many apps and uninstalled a couple. But I have noticed that my browser will force close about every other time I use it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my droid about 2 weeks ago. I returned it the next day because it kept force closing on my sms. They gave me a new one and haven't had the problem.until yesterday. At least twice a day now, since yesterday, i get a message saying: The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again...so i hit Force Close and then it just stays on a blank black screen so i hit the home button and hit messaging again and it pops up again. I take the battery out and that works for a few hours but then it just happens again...i don't wanna take this one back again and get a new one.I mean i have anti-virus (i dunno if it's good though lol) so I don't think it could be an app...i use the standard Messaging app that came with the phone, not Handcent or something else.will someone.I searched but they all seemed to be for different phones, not the droid.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI keep getting these force close messages com.jessonyip.analogy and com.gmobilesoft.freeweather. It happens sometimes when I disconnect my bluetooth or go from 3G to WiFi. Does anybody know what app these are, so that I can just uninstall them?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI didn't do an exhaustive search, but I can't find the answer. I have been using exchange email since day 1 and no problems. Well yesterday, it started to do a force close when I click to open an email. I can synch and view the headers without any problems, just can't click on the email. I have rebooted, hard shut off, and done *228, and nothing has worked. Gmail works just fine.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI had LauncherPro installed on my phone and it was set to automatically upload. It is currently stuck like it is downloading and sometimes it even says it's 100% downloaded, but nothing happens after that. If I click on cancel download, it force closes the market every time. I tried deleting LauncherPro and reinstalling it, but now I have lost it and can't get it back. I am still able to install and update other apps without any problem.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm getting an error in the battery manager in 2.2.I get that new battery icon in the battery manager. When I click on it, I get an error saying "process com.android.settings has stopped unexpectedly."Anyone else have this issue (I know some people said it does work) or have any ideas what I might be able to look at to fix this?
View 49 Replies View RelatedI'm running Android 2.2, Battery Manager that came with the phone preloaded is version1.1.I can select Battery Mode and change the modes just fine. But when I click on the big picture of the Battery where it says 'Touch for usage statistics' the app force close on me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had zero issues connecting my Droid with my corporate exchange client, which has been fantastic and refreshing, however, in the last week I have had email tell me it had to force close 3x.Each time it does, when I go to re-open everything is gone, it goes back to the sync an account/enter email address set up. Each time I do it on the far left the bars are a different color (what does this mean), right now they are the color of this smilie.Anything I can do to stop this from happening? Are there other email apps that might work better and have this not happening? I keep 2 weeks worth of emails on my phone so when something like this happens it is not a quick fix to get back where it was.
View 4 Replies View RelatedLast night, one of my apps, flow free, wasn't working properly, and then it forced closed, then I think most of my apps did, like Samsung homepage, gmail, software update, android phone, log provider etc. I have a Samsung galaxy y Gt-S5360T, I haven't changed anything like ROM so I think it will still be in stock rom. After these apps have forced closed, it will turn off, we'll more its like it just turns itself on again. And then the problem just starts over. While this is happening, I can't really do anything, well when the force close thing isn't up, then sometimes I can start going into things, but never get a chance to do anything because the force close things either take me back to the home menu, or it turns off, sometimes, instead of having apps on the first page, and the call log, contact book, and messaging on the bottom, it just has the menu key, that's it. And even when I haven't unlocked it, it turns itself off and on again.
My SIM card had a problem, so I recently changed that to a blank and had it working with my old number and balance. And because of this, it was last night, I saved my contacts to my phone, rather than my SIM card.
Is there any way of fixing this( have already tried turning it off and on, and taking the battery out and putting it back in again) without losing my photos, songs, saved messages and contacts? And if not, is there any way of saving them to something else, even though my phone won't let me do anything? So what can I do?
After forcing the 2.1 update the launcher.apk keeps force closing and i cannot do anything do i have to wipe data and do a factory reset?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid and download many random apps. Many of them run and I kill them often to not have a laggy performance but it still happens quite a bit. I get many random force closes from all kinds of apps.
Problem:
Steps to Create force close everytime in Messaging:
1. Compose new message
2. Type in "D"
3. Type in "A"
4. *Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped (no wait button to choose)
Once A is typed it always force closes (40 times in a row).
I'll start by saying I have been reading these forums for quite awhile. The information on here was what swayed me toward purchasing my DX, and I thank you for that as the phone has been great.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced pretty severe lagging with the stock media player as it has been happening to me quite often lately.
I will be listening to an album and not using the phone otherwise, then I will try to switch to another application and everything will freeze. The music will stop, occasionally a black screen appears and no buttons work.
The result is usually a battery pull.... This has happened to me twice already today, so I wanted to see if others have experienced the same thing with the media player, and if it is the media player that's the culprit, perhaps recommend an alternative.
I just rooted my inspire last night and everything went good then i started messing with an app called "andriod overclock" I went to extras then i dont remeber exactly what I clicked but i dragged it all the way to the left..i rebooted the device because it said it was required. now when I try to open an app i get an error saying something like force close? my phone is also like 10 times slower. i can still open some apps but most wont. if i open the settings it closes after about 5 seconds.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI did do a search, but didn't find anything. I had been running Cyanogen's latest 5.0.5.3 I had also been using Ultimate Droid 8.1.1. I had decided to flash to UD from CM. I used ROM Manager. I had been using the Helix 2 launcher with UD. I decided to try the launcher2, so I checked that. The whole process ran apparently normally. Except it did lock up at the cache backup stage at the dalvik cache backup. I had to pull the battery and re do the ROM download from ROM manager. However, when the screen pops up after all of the boot antimation cycle, and you unlock, there is an immediate launcher2 force close. I can get to nothing in the phone. I do have the entire contents of my sd card on my laptop, which has all of the backups on it, not including this latest one.Power off and hold the X key does not work, so I can't get to reboot recovery that way. Multiple power off and battery pulls did nothing. Another point is that I had been able to download UD only if I checked AdamZ's 1.0 low voltage overclock kernel. I would get ROM download error with ANY of the other kernel choices. I tried this after the ROM Manager update I found tonight. This time I checked Chevy's 1.25 low voltage, and the process seemed normal, other than the lockup during cache backup noted above. However UD had been running just fine when I had used it. S
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhat apps can we force close to optimize battery and processor? Can we force close these running apps?
I currently have and thinking of ending:
Astro - I have this on a folder, must this always stay running?
Bluetooth share - when Bluetooth is Off, can this be ended?
Facebook - used when connected with wifi, can this be ended when not connected/wifi or when not using?
Facebook for HTC Sense - used when connected with wifi, can this be ended when not connected/wifi? widget not used
Flickr - not used (maybe when connected with wifi)
FM Radio - not using but app running
Footprints - widget not used, not using but app is running
Friend Stream - not using but app running, widget not used
LED Light - widget used
Peep - not using but app running
Photoshop.com mobile - on a folder, can this be ended when not used?
YouTube - widget used
I'm not using an app to end these, just the Settings/Applications/Manage applications.
Even when I used advanced task manager to close apps like locale and football live scores, they still show up later when i open advanced task manager so why does this happen?
View 17 Replies View RelatedMaybe someone can help me out. I just got a brand new Milestone direct from Telus. It was working awesome for the first day, but now the camera app force closes. Here are the deets:
-with location services and/or GPS enabled, com.motorola.camera crashes 100% of the time when the location has been established
-with location services and GPS disabled, camera app works 100% with NO force close
-did a hard reset (wipe)
-tested GPS, working
-tested location services aka a-gps, working
Seems to me it must be a corrupted camera app, but I'm not sure how to fix this.
I am having problems running the youtube app... Whenever it is opened it force closes itself. It was working fine, though now it isn't... I tried clearing the cache and the only thing that helps is a restart, though once Youtube is closed (ATK) then it doesn't boot up all the time. It seems to be random...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been running the old leaked version of 2.1 on my phone since the day it was leaked. Today I installed the "new" leak, and now when I restart my phone I get an error saying, "the process com.htc.bg has to close due to an unexpected error." Then it makes me force close the process. My questions are, 1) does anyone know what this process is for? and 2) How do you suggest I fix this issue? Should I re-download from a different mirror? I have already tried re-flashing the zip that I have on my sd card.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes, after the phone has been in sleep mode for awhile, when I hit the power button to wake it back up and then the menu button (or swipe) to open the screen, I get that circular bar pattern followed by what look like the browser trying to launch. The screen is white, with a white address bar area, too. Then that screen goes back to the circular bar pattern, followed by the white browser screen again, after which it just closes. Very odd. Doesn't do it all the time. Seems to be random. And after a hard reset, sometimes the first time or two I use the browser, it just force closes on me. Again, doesn't do it all the time. (At first I thought I accidentally hit the home button, or something, but I didn't.)

View 4 Replies View RelatedI keep trying to attach pictures using Handcent. Keeps telling me pictures are too large and resizing. Then it always force closes handcent. I increased maximum MMS size to 1M. Never had this problem til after the update. Have done a factory reset. Only thing I have not done is uninstall Handcent and reinstall. Anybody else having his issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having issues with the phone and a system error message with something about com.htc.provider and it only gives you the option of a "force close" button. Sometimes that is all that happens and once you hit the force close the message goes away, at least for a while. Other times when this happens it deletes all of your text strings. I have 2 lines and 2 droids, both were having the same issue, did the factory resets, went to the store with both and finally gave in and took 2 refurbished phones to try and fix issue, both refurbished phones started doing the same thing immediately. I am in process of arguing with verizon about not wanting another eris to replace these.
