Even when I used advanced task manager to close apps like locale and football live scores, they still show up later when i open advanced task manager so why does this happen?

I am having many problems with force close on many apps. Most of them factory apps, and then lag after the force close on other apps.

In that regard the RIM OS works much better. I knew exactly what was running and what I wanted to close.
It is particularly annoying with the internet app. One has to navigate backwards through as many sites visited for the stupid thing to finally close.
I am just wondering about this.....I had the same issue with my old LG phone..is it because all these phones have a flash memory? Are there any app's besides task managers that can close the app's for good?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my droid about 2 weeks ago. I returned it the next day because it kept force closing on my sms. They gave me a new one and haven't had the problem.until yesterday. At least twice a day now, since yesterday, i get a message saying: The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again...so i hit Force Close and then it just stays on a blank black screen so i hit the home button and hit messaging again and it pops up again. I take the battery out and that works for a few hours but then it just happens again...i don't wanna take this one back again and get a new one.I mean i have anti-virus (i dunno if it's good though lol) so I don't think it could be an app...i use the standard Messaging app that came with the phone, not Handcent or something else.will someone.I searched but they all seemed to be for different phones, not the droid.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI didn't do an exhaustive search, but I can't find the answer. I have been using exchange email since day 1 and no problems. Well yesterday, it started to do a force close when I click to open an email. I can synch and view the headers without any problems, just can't click on the email. I have rebooted, hard shut off, and done *228, and nothing has worked. Gmail works just fine.

It is currently stuck like it is downloading and sometimes it even says it's 100% downloaded, but nothing happens after that. If I click on cancel download, it force closes the market every time. I tried deleting LauncherPro and reinstalling it, but now I have lost it and can't get it back. I am still able to install and update other apps without any problem.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI did do a search, but didn't find anything. I had been running Cyanogen's latest 5.0.5.3 I had also been using Ultimate Droid 8.1.1. I had decided to flash to UD from CM. I used ROM Manager. I had been using the Helix 2 launcher with UD. I decided to try the launcher2, so I checked that. The whole process ran apparently normally. Except it did lock up at the cache backup stage at the dalvik cache backup. I had to pull the battery and re do the ROM download from ROM manager. However, when the screen pops up after all of the boot antimation cycle, and you unlock, there is an immediate launcher2 force close. I can get to nothing in the phone. I do have the entire contents of my sd card on my laptop, which has all of the backups on it, not including this latest one.Power off and hold the X key does not work, so I can't get to reboot recovery that way. Multiple power off and battery pulls did nothing. Another point is that I had been able to download UD only if I checked AdamZ's 1.0 low voltage overclock kernel. I would get ROM download error with ANY of the other kernel choices. I tried this after the ROM Manager update I found tonight. This time I checked Chevy's 1.25 low voltage, and the process seemed normal, other than the lockup during cache backup noted above. However UD had been running just fine when I had used it. S

When I click on it, I get an error saying "process com.android.settings has stopped unexpectedly."Anyone else have this issue (I know some people said it does work) or have any ideas what I might be able to look at to fix this?

I can open and take pictures using an Fx camera, but anytime I try to open the camera or camcorder it will open for maybe 2 seconds then just close, sometimes my screen will just be completely black, and also sometimes it tells me camera not available try again another time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had zero issues connecting my Droid with my corporate exchange client, which has been fantastic and refreshing, however, in the last week I have had email tell me it had to force close 3x.Each time it does, when I go to re-open everything is gone, it goes back to the sync an account/enter email address set up. Each time I do it on the far left the bars are a different color (what does this mean), right now they are the color of this smilie.Anything I can do to stop this from happening? Are there other email apps that might work better and have this not happening? I keep 2 weeks worth of emails on my phone so when something like this happens it is not a quick fix to get back where it was.

I then viewed the short intro and then I tried it out It took a while and I had to ask for help on this forum but finally I got it to sort of working. I decided to send a test text to my wife so I tapped on the app and once it loaded I said "send text to xxxxxxxxx" (my wife's name) "This is a test" After it read my voice I got a screen that looked like this to: xxxxxxxxxxxx (my wife's name as listed on my contact list)

ok, I am new to these forums, so im sure these questions have been answered a million times before. But i am wondering how close is the 2.1 update and flash to being available for the Droid. Also, how do you update it, is it in the market or will it just happen automatically?
View 49 Replies View RelatedI really dont think so at all. I looked at some vids in you and that nexus is FAST!! I have my droid clocked at 550 firm all the time (its rooted) and it does not come close to how the nexus moves around and opens things up.I also know that one cannot compare speeds by simply opening things up. If that were true my wifes cliq is faster many times opening things up. But when you do things that need a strong proccesor theres where you will see the difference. For example, before I rooted the droid i could NOT stream tv shows (jetflicks) using wifi and a bluetooth stereo headset. the show would pause every 2-3 minutes, very annoying, and the voice would be of sync as well.
When I rooted the phone and installed an app that keeps the droid at 550 it worked PERFECTLY. No problems with sync or the show stopping every few minutes. SO, Im thinking that there cannot be no way in android world that the droid can perform at the same speed of the nexus when using apps that NEED a good fast proccesor.
After forcing the 2.1 update the launcher.apk keeps force closing and i cannot do anything do i have to wipe data and do a factory reset?

Problem:
Steps to Create force close everytime in Messaging:
1. Compose new message
2. Type in "D"
3. Type in "A"
4. *Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped (no wait button to choose)
Once A is typed it always force closes (40 times in a row).
