HTC Droid Eris :: General Email Error

Looking for a little help with email.I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong and need a little guidance. I currently have Gmail and Yahoo! accounts (more concerned about my Gmail). On my iPod Touch, I easily got them both into the iMail program, very quick and easy to do, seamless usage, etc.On the Eris, this is much more challenging for some reason. I figured the HTC mail would be about the same, but doesn't seem to be the case. I'm currently using the Gmail app for Gmail, which works, sort of. Not the most user friendly app. I can't seem to find a setting to check the email at intervals, have to hit 'menu' and refresh to bring in new mails. As it turns out, I have to do the same to get the app to connect and send mail as well. Seems like a lot of unnecessary steps.In addition, I can't seem to view my 'tasks.' However, I can do this through the mobile Gmail website, which almost seems more user friendly and easier to navigate.The other deal is the contacts, but I think I have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get this to work as well. My Gmail contacts won't sync as I have too many phone contacts. At least this is what I am able to assess from reading through the web. If anyone has any thoughts on this.Then there's the whole Yahoo! email thing. I have seen a couple posts I may try once I get the Gmail working correctly. Seems the Gmail should be seamless, must be missing something here.Email has been around for some time, hard to believe this takes any effort.

Anyone on ota 2.1 notice that email syncing is nor working as well? Since being upgraded I have noted that both my gmail and yahoo mail is not syncing on any regular schedule. If I wake phone it seems to sync but won't really check mail based on sync schedule I have set. Sometimes 2 or mores past 1 hour schedule I have set. Any others out there.

I am having no problems syncing with Outlook. My problem is that when I click on an email it never opens up the email. Instead I get a force close. The error I get says, Sorry! The application Email (processcom.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

I am a converted BB user. One of the features i cant seem to find that i liked on the BB is the select all/previous and mark as read function. I have tried pressing keys on the keyboard (if only there was a ctrl+A function) and looking under every menu i can find. Does anyone have any idea as to how i could do this?

I'm a newbie to this forum, and hope someone can help. Have had the Captivate for almost a month now and am plagued by an annoying problem. I have set up email accounts connecting to a google-hosted email account via IMAP. I am finding that when replying to a received email, my reply goes out with redundant repetitions of the email address on the "to" line. Example: Email from soandso@gmail.com arrives. I click "reply" on the phone and the reply goes out to soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com etc etc *10 times*, instead of just once. It also copies me about 10 times! Is anybody else seeing this? I use this for work emails, so it looks very unprofessional like I am trying to spam my clients! I have another couple of days before my 30-day return period is up, so hopefully someone else know how to fix this. Is there some setting I am overlooking?

I can access my AOL, Comcast and obviously Gmail with no problems on my Droid. However I want to be able to access my companies email I have set up through powweb.com (they host my website). Anyway I keep getting error messages that it could not finish set up or sometimes it says Error: check user and password details. I triple checked and made sure I was putting in the right info and then I even went on the powweb website and made sure I was putting in the correct settings and even contacted someone there and they gave me some info to try and help and I am still getting error messages. I have tried POP and IMAP. The exchange account, is a fee based account.

When i get an email (gmail) and I attempt to download the rest of the message, it gives me an error and tells me that there's not enough space and instructs me to delete messages. After deleting almost all messages, i still get the same error.
Do the messages get stored on my card or device? SHould i delete my podcasts that rest on my card?

I bought an Eris off craigslist and didn't think about calling in the ESN first. Obviously it was a scam and the guy reported it stolen 15 minutes after I paid him $275.i heard there are some loopholes around this. Anyone know how to get it activated again?

I currently have a BB Storm1, but am thinking of getting the Eris today. I use my BB for both business and pleasure, and would need to have at least 2 email accounts on the phone. Is this a possibility (I assume it is, but I just need some confirmation). Also, does anyone have any pros/cons that I should know about the Eris? I really hate my my storm at this point, and think I am ready to leave BB entirely. Would love some thoughts.

so i was on the phone talking to someone and when i hung up my droid died but i didn't think anything of it because my battery was dead anyways. however i put it on the charger and tried to boot it up it wont pass the screen with the three little green guys. whats going on? i already tried a hard reset aswell

I rebooted my HTC Eris a few minutes ago and when it turned back on I got like three error messages:
1. The application Flexilis Mobile Security (process com.lookout) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
2.The application Google Maps (process com.google.android.apps.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
3. The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.Also when I try to open "settings" I get an error message for that as well as "phone".also do not have service! I think I killed my android!

I just did the factory reset and now cannot send, and probably receive, sms messages. I get a SMS Error: General Problems. Cause Code 34 Error Class 2. I did a second factory reset in hopes that the error would go away but it's still happening. Does anyone know what I should do?

Anyone else having problems with error messages when they install apps? I was in the habit of installing multiple applications from the market before rebooting, but started having problems with the phone not working and getting other error messages so I now try to reboot after each install. I just tired to install and run advance task killer (ATK) twice and after each reboot I'd get at least 2-3 errors. If I uninstall it and reboot all seems to be ok. Same happened with Bloo and an AK-47 app (game).

So for the past 2 days I've been getting a server error when trying to load "My Downloads" in the Market (Eris 1.5). Nothing loads and I get a popup that says: "Attention, A server error has occured. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen." It's also fairly intermittent, sometimes I get this error, sometimes not. I've not seen this before yesterday.

I got into recovery mode - The menu by pressing Power and VOL-DOWN at the same time, and then I selected 'Recovery' - But now I have a picture of an Eris with a large ! inside of a red triangle. An error? What did I do wrong? What I'm trying to do is apply a file I downloaded that is supposed to add Live Wallpapers to the phone.

I decided to factory reset my phone.I did the power off, hold volume down and power up at the same time. I got a menu from that and selected "clearstorage".It went to a screen with a pic of my phone and a red triangle with an exclamation point through it.

I have been trying to buy and download paid applications for my eris, but everytime I enter in my payment info I get the error message "a server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen."
Does anybody have any idea what's causing this and/or how to fix it?

I did the manual update to 2.1 yesterday and everything's great except for one issue.I have a ringtone set for my wife so that I know when she's calling but for some reason since the update it plays the default ringtone for her.I've tried deleting her contact and then manually adding the contact back, I've tried changing the ringtone to something else and then back to what I want but the problem persists. Please help, this is really frustrating.

I'm able to get the computer to recognize the connection but I'm getting no interwebs connection?I think it may have something to do with the connection type thing.i.e. : Charge only, HTC Sync, Disk Drive.I've tried all of them with no success.Any thoughts?

Did wife's Eris to 2.1 tonite. She was on PRL 51807, prior to 2.1 after 2.1 and *228 option 1 and 2 she was back down to the 51776 that I am currently on. Prior to the *228 she didn't have the sign in error, tested with reboot and also airplane only mode. LOL seems to be the error. Don't know how to get it back up to the 51807.

so i just did factory reset, and texts wont send. SMS. get the error: SMS Error General Problems, Cause Code: 34, Error Class:2 come on, i thought factory reset was supposed to make EVERYTHING ALL BETTER you know how when sending a text, it swtiches to 1x? yeah well mines not doing that; it's staying on 3G.

So I've been noticing this problem recently and it's seriously confusing me about YouTube on the Eris (both in app and the mobile site.)The search results on the Eris for both app and m. site are missing a LOT of results compared to when I search the same thing on my laptop. I chalked that up to YouTube having HD options now like when I searched (please don't judge, it was a favor for my fiancee)

There is a date calculation error in the Contact app. When I press the People icon, then long click a person and select Edit Contact, scroll down to the birthday field. If I entered the date 11/12/1935 and select Done. the date shows in the Birthday field 11/13/2009. I select the Birthday again and the date is 11/12/1935.
With some testing If I place the year on 1945 or later, the day stays 12 but if I select 1944 or earlier the day changes to 13.

My wi fi isn't working it has found our connection ever since I turned it on now it doesn't. I am sitting right next to the computer but it cannot find it. I uninstalled 360 camera because that is the last app I installed. It was working fine untill I did the update. Than it did a force close a couple of times. That was yesterday than when I turned my phone on this morning it can not find the connection and the letter icon that shows you have mail is not up in the left hand corner of the phone. I really don't want to do a factory reset if I can help it.

I used to get notifications just fine for received emails in my Mail app (which I use for gmail). I didn't change any settings, but now it no longer notifies me when I get a new email unless I actually go into the app so it downloads. I'm totally perplexed!
