Anyone on ota 2.1 notice that email syncing is nor working as well? Since being upgraded I have noted that both my gmail and yahoo mail is not syncing on any regular schedule. If I wake phone it seems to sync but won't really check mail based on sync schedule I have set. Sometimes 2 or mores past 1 hour schedule I have set. Any others out there.

Since moving to ADW my e-mail icon doesn't update my number of unread messages unless I drag it to the trash and re-add it.I'm running v3, rooted with ADW as my default launcher.

I currently have Gmail and Yahoo! accounts (more concerned about my Gmail). On my iPod Touch, I easily got them both into the iMail program, very quick and easy to do, seamless usage, etc.On the Eris, this is much more challenging for some reason. I figured the HTC mail would be about the same, but doesn't seem to be the case. I'm currently using the Gmail app for Gmail, which works, sort of. Not the most user friendly app. I can't seem to find a setting to check the email at intervals, have to hit 'menu' and refresh to bring in new mails. As it turns out, I have to do the same to get the app to connect and send mail as well. Seems like a lot of unnecessary steps.In addition, I can't seem to view my 'tasks.' However, I can do this through the mobile Gmail website, which almost seems more user friendly and easier to navigate.The other deal is the contacts, but I think I have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get this to work as well. My Gmail contacts won't sync as I have too many phone contacts. At least this is what I am able to assess from reading through the web. If anyone has any thoughts on this.Then there's the whole Yahoo! email thing. I have seen a couple posts I may try once I get the Gmail working correctly. Seems the Gmail should be seamless, must be missing something here.Email has been around for some time, hard to believe this takes any effort.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to update Android SDK on Windows XP. For that I open Android SDK and ADV manager and try to get available updates. The HTTPS SSL error appears. Then I go to settings, uncheck the "force https...", then add new site "http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/ repository.xml" (the same as default but with HTTP protocol) then again try to get available updates.
After this step I get the weird error:
XML verification failed for http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml. Error: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'sdk:sdk- repository'. Failed to fetch URL http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: Unknown
Does anybody know what is the reason of this error? This happens on all SDKs I have on my PC: Android 1.6_r1 and 2.0_r3
I am having no problems syncing with Outlook. My problem is that when I click on an email it never opens up the email. Instead I get a force close. The error I get says, Sorry! The application Email (processcom.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I set up my outlook email for work on my X. I checked the Email Delivery settings --> Fetch Schedule and saw that "Every 15 Minutes" is the most often it can do. Is this the setting that tells the phone get inbox updates? I need my work emails updated atleast every minute, is there a way to do this for ONLY this email account? (Not my gmail, or any other email account)Maybe a workaround would be to have a text sent to me whenever something new is in the Outlook inbox?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid X for a week now. I'm coming from the Incredible. Both are great phones but I prefer the X. I have 3 email accounts setup on this phone. My corp account using the Corporate Sync and 2 personal accounts using IMAP. The Corporate Sync works fine but the IMAP accounts will only download email every few hours instead of every 15 minutes. If I reboot the phone, it will download new emails.

View 17 Replies View RelatedHey everybody, I've looked for an answer on here, but to no avail. I tried to root my replacement Eris with 1.5, and HBOOT 1.47. Everything was going well until it got to the point of making a recovery, which for some reason, my phone wouldn't let me do. Infuriated and frustrated, I followed the steps to go back to 1.5 to a tee. However, I miss Vlingo so much, and i went to install the OTA 2.1, and it aborted the installation. I now have HBOOT 1.49.2000, so does my phone basically think I have the 2.1v3 leak, or am I just flat-out screwed? Done multiple factory resets, etc. and they haven't helped either

View 7 Replies View RelatedRecent quirk - my Eris all of a sudden insists that the sun is shining at 9:30 PM, and conversely that the moon is out at 8:00 AM (times approximate). I go into the main weather screen, it updates, looks fine, I go back to the home screen, still way off. Eventually it does "match" -right now, 1:50 PM, the Eris says "intermittent clouds" and looking out the window what bits of sky I can see are mostly cloudy. But it is a bit disconcerting to be sitting at the baseball game, pull out the Eris to check the time, and have a nice happy sun staring at me when it is way past sundown.

I am a converted BB user. One of the features i cant seem to find that i liked on the BB is the select all/previous and mark as read function. I have tried pressing keys on the keyboard (if only there was a ctrl+A function) and looking under every menu i can find. Does anyone have any idea as to how i could do this?
View 16 Replies View RelatedRecently my music player has stopped updating what music I have/don't have on my memory stick. I deleted a few albums off my memory stick and added a couple, and it still shows the old album, (unable to play, says 'audio player does not support files of this type' or something like that) and it doesn't show the new music I put on there. I've restarted my device about 4 times, tried closing/reopening the music app.. I don't know what to do to clear this up. I'm running 2.1 (via WhiteWidow/Root if that matters) and music has never given me a problem before. The other music apps have the same problem, none of them seem to refresh.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I have an HTC Clock widget on my home screen the time does not update fluidly. The clock will display the correct time only after I've unlocked the phone and given it several seconds to update. If I swipe over to another screen, wait any period of time (the longer the better), and swipe back; the clock will display the time at which I left that screen and again needs several seconds before it leaps to the correct time. I've tested this theory on the native Android clock widget and it worked correctly. IMO, it defeats the purpose of having the HTC clock widget when the clock in the notifications bar is always accurate. I am also using ATK but I've made sure the Clock process/app is in the ignore list.

I click on the widget and bring up the settings and check the "Update Automatically" I get a "Data Warning"- This may result in additional charges from your wireless provider. Enable automatic download of weather data? and I click yes. Yet it wont save and it keeps coming unchecked after I exit the widget. I even tried hitting now and I tried a soft reset.

When I press install now, the phone reboots, looks like it is updating, than says error and restarts. A message pops up when the phone restarts stating the update failed due to error 402. I tried to update via Kies, but it says there is no available update in Kies, but my phone says the update is available. I have a lot of data on the phone and I need my warranty to stay intact, so no Odin.

I have a rooted Galaxy S3 running PA 2.54. I used Goo Manager to install TWRP and download PA 3.0 and the latest Gapps to my SD card.
I booted into recovery. Did a factory reset, wiped cache, wiped dalvik. Then installed rom, gapps and did a reboot.
I get past the boot screen, but then I get two error messages: "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" and "Unfortunately, Setup wizard has stopped". I keep pressing ok, but it doesn't allow me to progress any further. I can't access anything else and the only thing I am able to do is hold down the power button to reboot.
I have made a back up and restored my phone back 2.54 and everything works fine. I tried it one more time and the same thing happened.
I'm a newbie to this forum, and hope someone can help. Have had the Captivate for almost a month now and am plagued by an annoying problem. I have set up email accounts connecting to a google-hosted email account via IMAP. I am finding that when replying to a received email, my reply goes out with redundant repetitions of the email address on the "to" line. Example: Email from soandso@gmail.com arrives. I click "reply" on the phone and the reply goes out to soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com etc etc *10 times*, instead of just once. It also copies me about 10 times! Is anybody else seeing this? I use this for work emails, so it looks very unprofessional like I am trying to spam my clients! I have another couple of days before my 30-day return period is up, so hopefully someone else know how to fix this. Is there some setting I am overlooking?

Now when i use the inbuilt procedure od SETTINGS/About Phone/Software update/ Update Now (with the WiFi & mobile networks setting selected) my X10 helpfully tells me "your phone will now search to see if any new sofware is available". After a few seconds it then informs me "Could not update - network error".

But when I try running the SuperSU app (installed automaticallly after rooting), I get the message:

Anyone having trouble with widgets stop updating? Like my clock/calendar/weather/news/pretty much any widget i have stops updating after an hour. So i look at my clock widget two hours later and it is an hour behind. Happens to ALL my widgets.Even the quick turn on/off wifi,bt,gps and such. They just stop updating/showing animation.I have ADW launcher installed. I am wondering if it is that. I do not really want to remove it as i hate the stock 3 button interface at the bottom (why do i need a contacts and phone, just use the phone to look thru contacts, wasted space IMO) and am quite keen on keeping the 5 button.Any ideas? If i power off the phone and turn it back on it's fine again for about an hour. SOmetimes randomly thru the day it will start updating and working fine again then randomly stop again.

I can access my AOL, Comcast and obviously Gmail with no problems on my Droid. However I want to be able to access my companies email I have set up through powweb.com (they host my website). Anyway I keep getting error messages that it could not finish set up or sometimes it says Error: check user and password details. I triple checked and made sure I was putting in the right info and then I even went on the powweb website and made sure I was putting in the correct settings and even contacted someone there and they gave me some info to try and help and I am still getting error messages. I have tried POP and IMAP. The exchange account, is a fee based account.

When i get an email (gmail) and I attempt to download the rest of the message, it gives me an error and tells me that there's not enough space and instructs me to delete messages. After deleting almost all messages, i still get the same error.
Do the messages get stored on my card or device? SHould i delete my podcasts that rest on my card?
