Jun 17, 2010When I go on facebook on my droid eris. It says download a facebook for your nexus one. Just curious, who knows why this is?

HTC Droid Eris :: Facebook Vs Facebook For HTC Sense / Two Separate Apps?
May 18, 2010Like everyone who's updated to 2.1, I'm experiencin the same bugs with Facebook (i.e. all my FB contacts show up in my dialer and my txt msgs). Anyways, I was toolin around in Accounts & Sync under Settings. Right now, the accounts I have set up are Google, Weather, and Facebook for HTC Sense. When I click Add an Account, there's something called just "Facebook," in addition to the "Facebook for HTC Sense."I've always known there were two Facebook apps (or whatever you wanna call them) on my phone, cause when I want to share a pic I take, I can do it using either "Facebook" or "Facebook for HTC Sense." I always share the picture using "Facebook" because it allows me to post a comment as well.Anyways, getting back to Accounts & Sync, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how these two apps differ. Maybe if I choose to sync the "Facebook" account as opposed to "Facebook for HTC Sense," that could solve some of these issues we're all having? I have no idea, but I'm hesitant to do anything for fear of clogging up my phone's contact list with Facebook friends.

May 22, 2010Has anyone figured out the difference between syncing Facebook for HTC Sense in the account syncing section vs. plain Facebook? I am trying to figure out if the one I'm using (Facebok for HTC Sense) is using up too much memory.
My phone memory is around 33% whereas my husband's memory is 64%! He has very few contacts and I'm wondering if the syncing with Facebook is taking up all my phone memory (vs SD Card memory which is fine).

May 28, 2010Quick Story: I had a HTC Legend, and i had a number of problems, so after some arse kicking by me, i got the Nexus one for 25 per month
I am not new to android: i have had the G1 which i did not root, the T-Mobile pulse, which i rooted and the HTC Legend and now the Nexus one.
Some questions?
With the legend i am am awhere of the Sence UI ? i liked how facebook contacts synced to my phone and when i rang i saw there display pictures, does the Nexus one do this?
SMS, is there a similar app to the legend, where you see threaded messages with a picture of there facebook dp?
I can't hear the phone when it rings, its so quiet, the volume is on max, is there anyway to increase this?
Nexus 1 (1GHZ) Cpu apps are there any i can play on
EP build UK Android 2.2 i have done some Googleing and cant find a release date for it

Jun 13, 2010I am probably reposting, but i can't find the exact answer im looking for (if you know the thread, please link it).
Facebook for HTC Sense is a POS. We all know that. But what is killing me is that I can set up a "sync" my HTC Eris with Fb for HTC Sense (that doesnt actually sync) but not for the standard Facebook app.
The HTC Sense Facebook App does a terrible job of syncing contacts w/ the phone, so I am trying to do it thru the Facebook for Android App.
I) Should I just keep on trying with the HTC App even tho its not fully working or syncing?
When I go to Menu> Settings> Accounts&sync>Add account (after removing sycing w/ FB for HTC Sense) I can add an account for: Facebook -or- Facebook for HTC Sense.
But, when I try to click on Facebook, nothing happens. Fb for HTC still works and I can add the account to that, but I wont get the contacts again. (I think).
II) What is going on w/ my Facebook for Android app? (I have updated it, too).

Jan 27, 2010When i get an email (gmail) and I attempt to download the rest of the message, it gives me an error and tells me that there's not enough space and instructs me to delete messages. After deleting almost all messages, i still get the same error.
Do the messages get stored on my card or device? SHould i delete my podcasts that rest on my card?

Jul 25, 2010I have the HTC Droid Eris. Before the 2.1 update, I just had Facebook sync, but afterwards, it was synced with Facebook for HTC Sense. My problem is that it won't let me sync with just Facebook.I still want my contacts to sync with my phone, because I like the facebook pictures on there. Personally, I like Facebook sync better, because I don't like having all my Facebook contacts on my phone, because the numbers show up twice (number that I have on my phone plus the number that my friends have on Facebook).To prevent that from happening, I would rather have my phone connected to Facebook only and not Facebook for HTC Sense.I thought I could do it, but it won't let me even click on Facebook--like, nothing pops up or anything.I wasn't sure if it was my phone, so I took my dad's Eris and tried to do the same, it works fine on his phone, but I can't get mine to do sync with facebook whatsoever. After asking for the date for the 2.0+ update (he didnt have one) and the nexus one, he told me that the nexus one will in fact be called the nexus one for verizon (rather than the htc passion) and that it is already in their computer system as being available in february.

Jan 30, 2010This problem first started after installing Lock bot, ATK and Alevel. Rebooted my phone and was greeted with an X in my signal bar and all home apps and google/android apps FC. I tried to reboot and pull battery even though the battery pull from my understanding has no effect. I've seen other threads say to do a hard reset but I didn't have a back up of my phone. I uninstall the 3 apps listed and the phone booted up fine.The next day I downloaded lock bot and level whith a reboot after each and no problems. I went back to tk because i like the 1x4 task bar it has and all was well.(No i'm not blaming ATK because too many people use it successfully) Yesterday I downloaded Safe neighborhood(My creepy neighbor looks out his window and watches the kids way too much), OS Monitor after uninstalling TK, and the Swype app I found on a thread here. As soon as I rebooted I received that X again. Uninstalled the last three apps and O.K.. I have re-installed OS Monitor and swype and phone reboots fine. I didn't download safe neighborhood again because my neighbor may be a perv but now I know he's not a convicted perv. The thing I'm noticing now is that when trying to use the market the downloads take several minutes to load or don't load at all.

1. Download and re-name to update.zip
2. Turn your phone off, and then back on by pressing Vol-Up & End/Power until the phone starts.
3. Wait 15 seconds.
4. Then press Vol-Up & End/Power again - you should get a short menu, one entry of which will say something about "sdcard:update.zip"; choose that.
5. After the update applies itself, reboot.
This will change your Settings>About Phone to
Firmware 2.1

Feb 21, 2010I don't know how legitimate this is, but I figured I'd post and see if anyone has any thoughts. It comes in at 55.5 MBs. I haven't tried it yet, wondering if anyone wants to?

HTC Droid Eris :: MMS Messages Won't Download?
Apr 18, 2010I have a question. I recently downloaded Handcent to try it out and one day out of nowhere, MMS messages won't download. I click the download button an retry and it fails after about a second. I uninstalled Handcent, dialed *228 to reprogram, and sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. Sometimes, I'll even get an MMS from one person, but the message appears in a different thread, still not being able to Download. I searched for the problem and came across this being common for the Hero, but I'm not sure if its related to my Eris. Anyone with an Eris have experience with this? Or tips? I want to stay away from a Hard Reset, but will try it if I can sync my contacts.

Mar 4, 2010With 1.5 I was able to go to the full facebook site and do the facebook chat thing at the bottom right (though it didn't often work very well). now with 2.1 i am having trouble with this. the little chat window/bar only seems to show up when i zoom all the way out, and then it kind of disappears when i try and touch it or zoom in.

Aug 5, 2010A number of you have commented on seeing a battery drain on your device since installing the new Facebook for Android app. We have identified the bug that is causing this battery drain and are working on a fix now. As soon as the patch is ready, we will push out an update. Which means Verizon will push this to us sometime next year!
