So I saw that Droid commercial showcasing some popular apps and noticed a skype app. I've searched for it many times before and just though that there was no skype app on the android market, but apparently there is. Whenever I search for it I can't get it to come up though. Anybody having this problem or know of a fix?! I did the manual install of 2.1 a few months back btw, in case that makes a difference.

I have the leaked 2.1 version installed on my phone and Skype doesn't show up in the Market at all, and I can't update it through Skype.com's download link either. Is there any way I can update it via some apk uploaded somewhere else?

View 8 Replies View RelatedSorry if this should be somewhere else, but I'm have an X with the leaked 2.2 on it. I've heard about the Skype Mobile update but it's not showing up in my downloads. Wasn't sure if it's a delay or an issue in the fact that I have the leaked 2.2 version on my phone. I can't find it in the Market and I can't find a barcode to compare it to either.

I have an HTC Magic and I have a couple of contacts who I frequently talk with on skype. Is there anyway to talk with them skype-to-skype on the Android phone?
The Skype Lite app does not allow calling.
I don't mind either calling using my local minutes OR using my data plan.
Are there any other applications that could assist me with this?
I updated to android 2.1 v1 and now I can't get Skype on my phone? How come? Is there a way of downloading it from somewhere else on the Internet? If so where?

I have traced the problem to the bug in Skype that doesn't delete com.skype.raider or something like that. The only way to get rid of this file is to root and delete it from /data/data which is only accessed by rooting. I don't want to root, but I need Skype. I tried yesterday and got an error that I think said something about a problem w/ the service pack.I tried probably 5x last night to install it from the market but didn't have any luck. Today I tried twice and again I get an installation error, however it doesn't say what the error is specifically.It takes about 4 minutes to download then when it gets to installation it says "installation unsuccessful"

View 23 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to update my phone now for nearly two weeks, trying various options, yet nothing I do helps in any way.I started off just running the update from SEUS with my phone as i've been using it.the updater started, gets about 70% through "Preparing" and pops up an error "Unable to install or start software update components." Closing which pops up "try again" or come to this site.I then tried uninstalling all installed components, same result as above.I then tried a Master Reset to factory setting, same result as above.I then disable the Firewall and the Anti-Virus, same result as above.Basically, i'm at the end of my tether, this should not be this difficult, I should not have to jump through this amount of hoops.If there was a way to legitimately root the phone (keeping warranty), I could already have Froyo installed, instead of this irritating mess thats causing me nothing but headaches.

I followed the instructions (wiped out my sd card) and completely reset the phone to factory settings, put the file on the sd card, Volume down + the Power key and I get the 3 skater androids but no option to install the new os. View 23 Replies View RelatedI have a stock Eris and the other day my sdcard went corrupted. I learned this from when I got the new swype beta email and went to download the .apk. It told me a sdcard was required (I had never taken the sdcard out of the phone to being with). Anyways I brought it to verizon and the guy said it was done and gave me a 16gb card (8 was in there previously). So now I was able to download the .apk file; however when I try to click on it to install it says I can't because there is not enough space on Phone.
Now I don't know how much for it is required. But I have 14gb on the card available and 25mg on the internal phone storage. Now since uninstalling swype and trying to download I haven't added any more apps that would take up additional space. I've actually uninstalled a few, so I should have more space than I did before this whole thing started.
Is it possible to do the leaked 2.0 without having a card reader? Anyone have it set so you can do it with the USB cable?
