I updated my Galaxy S to froyo (2.2) from the Samsung official website.I've managed to install skype and login, Everything worked fine. But the battery was draining the whole time, So i uninstalled it.It got uninstalled, But now i cant install it again.I may have uninstalled while skype was on.

Too bad. Then another poster wrote..."Same for me". Unfortunately he only says "You simply can't log in..." and this leaves me wondering WHY NOT ? If anyone out there knows exactly why we can't use our SGS to log in...then please enlighten the rest of us who are left wondering. View 10 Replies View RelatedI downloaded & installed the IMDb app from android market on my SGS. When I go to the Downloads section of the Market, I see a (infinite) progress bar on IMDb app, status shows it is currently installing. However, the app is already installed & works fine.
Now, the biggest problem is that I can't uninstall it because it is constantly in "installing" mode. Restarting the phone didn't help.
Please let me know how I can get rid of this app.
I am getting a Galaxy S end of this week or early next week. Wondering how good it will be for VOIP. I am thinking of using either Skype, Fring or Nimbuzz in the background 24x7, connected mostly over 3G but sometimes (at home and at work) over Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi is going to drain the battery faster, then I can have it on 3G all the time. I'm more than happy if I can get one day out of it. What do you guys think? Has anyone tried it?

I have traced the problem to the bug in Skype that doesn't delete com.skype.raider or something like that. The only way to get rid of this file is to root and delete it from /data/data which is only accessed by rooting. I don't want to root, but I need Skype. I have heard you can temporarily root your phone. Does phone automaticaly go back to stock after you restart?

In the code above I have hardcoded the command for the case 'R.id.btnInstall' to make sure there's no typo, but I get a return value of 9 from install.exitValue().
I tried to install a new ROM and I have killed my phone. This is what happened. I downloaded Voodoo (something) rebooted in recovery mode, and selected the file installed it and rebooted the phone. my phone turned on showing on the screen only Samsung and above it Vibrant. a voice on the phone told me "this will take 15 minutes." and that was it. the phone is now stuck on that opening screen and I can not get to download or recovery mode. It does charge if turned off and plugged in.

It goes through the motions of downloading and then throws an error that the dowload failed. It does not give a reason for the failure. Is this phone modified by Verizon not to allow apps or did I get a bad phone?

I've been following all the steps given in the tutorials on XDA and youtube and many other sites to install CWM in Galaxy Grand, but to my misfortune, whenever I complete the process and try to open CWM using VOLUME UP+POWER+MENU button, the ANDROID SYSTEM RECOVERY <3e> menu opens and then I could do nothing.
I've tried installing CWM 9 times and also tried removing the batteries.
What should I do???
i use a samsung galaxy pocket but there is a problem when i turn off my phone , it displays "on key 7s reset " i don't know what's it means.
so i wanted install the stock roms agon called xxfl5 but i am already on xxfl5 firmware and when i try to install with odin it doesn't work it's too low.
I just rooted, deoxed, and themed my X using the 928 black glass method in the sticky.
Everything went perfectly.
After the blackglass theme went through, I changed it to the nextheme, and again, everything went perfectly except that the facebook app was still using the blackglass theme.
Now, I cannot uninstall the facebook app (says "uninstall unsuccessful") and I cannot update in the market (says: "installation unsuccessful"; although it downloads just fine).
I tried using root explorer to go into systems/apps to delete facebook.apk, which worked, but I still can't install the new facebook from the market.
I'm considering buying a Galaxy S, but I dont really like that touchwiz thingy. Is it possible to install a stock version of froyo on it?
