How do I Block or delete all the email spam I get on my HTC Droid Eris? I use outlook and set it up with a pop account on my droid eris. I get hundreds of spam emails a day and it seems only option is to delete them. I have seen one Spam Application but am Leary to hand over email password to the app.

My home account is from Verizon managed through yahoo. I go to a yahoo mail page but log in as myname@verizon.net.I know there is an option for making email as spam through gmail. But I cannot figure out how to do it on my pop mail acct on my phone. I've searched the forums to no avail.
I have a few different email accounts and on my PC I have most of the spam under control by a junk mail filter that catches almost all of what the ISP's filter doesn't. On the Incredible, however, those ads still get through and it's annoying of course. If I could just even get rid of the Viagra ads, I'd be happy, because there wouldn't be much spam left if they were gone. I figure there has to be a way to do a keyword block of these ads but I just can't figure this out on here. Any ideas?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from a five year old phone, so apologies in advance. The geeks at Best Buy set up my email for me which works fine (after multiple trips back to the store). Except that I can't figure out how to do a couple of things. 1. Is there a way to select and delete multiple emails on the phone and 2. How do I get rid of all my spam mail that comes in on the laptop (and gets filtered out there). Do I have to set up some kind of email push program so that the email comes in from my computer (already filtered) instead of from the server? You can see my learning curve is steep.........
View 2 Replies View RelatedI somehow (knowingly or unknowingly) touched & dialled a number from an adult content app and then hung up. Since that day, I keep getting text msgs from different numbers, with lewd text & asking me to call a number (constant across all these sms-es). I block the number using MyVerizon number blocking service; but in 2-3 days I get similar text, asking me to call the same number, from a different number. I keep on blocking this new number (from where the text came) and they keep on sending same text from a different number. This keep on increasing my text bill.
If I reply to one of those texts saying "STOP", as the verizon customer care rep suggested, wouldn't that flag my number as LIVE and they'll start sending me more texts?How about using sms blocker apps? Again, question there is - do the sms blocker apps just delete spam msgs upon receiving and will I still incur the sms cost in my bill?
I just got my Droid yesterday and so far I like it. It was annoying that I couldn't get my Yahoo account set up, then I found instructions on the internet for the manual setup (Thank You to Smilepack, whoever you are!). NOW, my next problem is this: can I delete on email on the Droid without deleting it on my actual Yahoo or Gmail account? My BlackBerry had a "Delete on Handheld only" option. That would really be nice to have.

I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.

I've tried root Explorer, but cannot find /modules section.
A couple nights ago, I installed a picture frame widget from the Market. Nice black frame, just what I wanted. Since then I've been getting unsolicited Spam texts. I don't know for sure, though, if its the widget causing the trouble. The reason I suspect it now is that there was no screen detailing what types of permissions the app had when I chose to install. I didn't think anything of it at the time, since it was supposed to be basically an inert widget. Now I'm regretting my naivete. So, I've uninstalled the pic frame (and Messaging Widgets just to be safe). Anything else I should do at this point? I don't do any banking or buying on my phone, but still.

I understand this is usually best done from the email server side of things, but this is where we are right now. This is regarding his work email, and I've suggested that he have gmail fetch it for him so they can filter it (does this work for fetching? I know it works great for emails sent directly to gmail), alas, he says he only has an imap server and no Pop3 server for gmail to fetch. I looked in the market and found only one not terribly highly rated app for filtering email spam on Android phones. If you've tried that email filtering app, it worked?

First post here. Been reading for a few weeks and just got my Eris on Sunday. I tried a search for the answer to this question, but came up empty. It probably has been answered before and I just can't find it. Does anyone know the correct way to delete out any scenes that you have saved on the phone? I got over anxious right away with it and ended up having 4 saved scenes on top of the 6 from HTC that are already there. I would like to have just 2 extra ones total and be able to delete out 2 of them. That would give me basically the 6 HTC scenes and then a USer1 and USer 2 type of thing.

I cannot erase any texts in my Eris!! Whether I select just one person (and therefore one thread) to delete or deleting my entire inbox, my phone locks up, messaging crashes/force closes. My phone is incredibly slow and I'm assuming the plethora of messages is at least partially to blame.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was having trouble seeing all my saved mail on my AOL email setup through the Mail App. I tried deleting my AOL Email address so I could reinstall it. I started the process to delete it but it lock up during the process. The phone wouldn't respond to anything so I had to turn it off. When I turned it back on the Mail App shows I have emails but when I tap on it, it comes up to a screen that says choose a mail provider. Choices are Exchange Activesync or Other (POP3/IMAP). I choose Other (POP/IMAP), entered email address & password. It came up to a warning screen (an account with the email address already exists. It doesn't allow me to complete the setup. It seems it deleted part of the email address setup but it still remembers the old setup. Is there anyway to totally delete this email address to start all over without resetting the phone?
