Can we customize each folder with a unique icon?
Is there a way to reduce the spacing between folder icons? For example, 2.1 gives us four locations horizontally and vertically, but 5x5 should still allow accurate finger detection.
Can we change the order of the icon appearances within a folder?
Can we put Folder B (or a shortcut to it) within Folder A?

I have created several folders (Apps, Games, etc.) on my G1 desktop. So my question are:
1) Is there a way of changing the icon of the folders from the dull plain grey one provided? if so how ?
2) Where are those folders created on the system ?
I have a 2.2 Froyo Droid X not-rooted and I really don't want to root it. I've pretty much figured how to create shortcuts with custom icons, and I'm using Launcher Pro and Desktop Visualizer for the shortcuts that are not on my dock... what I want to know is, can I customize without rooting the icons of the applications themselves or no?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI usually view email with attachments from my pc because I usually lack the time to download the attachment. Today, I had some spare time so I tried to download an attachment. It downloaded fine but when I went to view it, I received a pop-up box to save it to the sd card. After pressing ok, I was told the save was successful but now I can't find it. Aside from pics and videos, how do I access other folders with saved data?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I create a content provider to service a live folder, and if this content provider is just a wrapper aggregating other content providers, how does the live folder know if the real content has changed somewhere down the line.
For example, I have a live folder that has items pointing to video, audio, and notes. Each item in the cursor (such as an aggregated matrix cursor) may be pointing to a different underlying content provider. But each item will have its own uri.
Does the live folder view register for content changes for each uri? Or is it the responsibility of the wrapper content provider to register for content changes and then notify its client the live folder?
When I mount my phone there are a lot of deferent folders that I have no idea what they are for, even empty ones. How could one manage their folders and content in those folders to minimize usage on the SD card? Example: I have repeated sound effects that I have downloaded. If I go to assign a notification sound it shows three or four of the same sound. Also, repeated picture folders.

How do I arrange the icons in the folder ? I was able to change the folder name, move icons into it, and delete icons from it. But can not find out how to move them around.

How to - create custom icons for folders or add shortcuts into App Organizer Groups
I've been playing around with the App Organizer, and been putting things into folders. However, I am trying to do a few things.
Add shortcuts into the groups App Organizer creates, and/or create custom icons for Folders I put on the Home pages.
For example, I have 6 mail accounts (don't ask) and want to put them in a group called mail. Using AppOrganizer, I can only organizer the main mail icon into the group, I want to add the 5 other shortcuts I created for each account. OR I group them into a folder, but I want to change the folder icon to an envelope.
Also, anyone know any good apps that puts email notifications on the top taskbar?
There is no way to get different folders for the email is there? i.e. a junk folder or whatever else my hotmail has?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyways, on every other phone I've ever had, text messaging had a regular group of folders such as Inbox, Sent, Deleted, Outbox, etc. I do not see this on my Eris. I can see the new ones of course but not sure where my sent items are (if anywhere?) and where my deleted items go (permanently deleted?). I've had a couple of texts deleted that I needed later on but couldn't find so it's irritating enough to start searching for answers!

I have almost 400 pics all listed under Camera shots and, of course, anytime I am looking for 1 specific pic, I have to filter through them all. I have tried everything that I know of on my phone outside of just purging pics. If I create separate folders on my SD card, will it display that way in the album?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of any apps that will allow a parent to set a content filter on the Eris so a kid can't access adult themed websites (porn etc)? The subject came up at work and it sounded like something worth looking in to, but the best I could find was a content filter service from Verizon (for free) but it seems that it also prevents Google Navigator, Facebook and YouTube from working properly (they all load just fine, but crazy error codes come up which prevent you from getting any further). Also of note: this only works when using the 3G service, as WiFi has no problems accessing Nav, FB and YT.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is the second time in the four days I have had the phone that the icons all disappeared and all the original screens have returned the only thing left unchanged was the icon I put a page to turn off the mobile web this is frustrating because I have to drag and drop my icons all over again though I think the first time was right after it upgraded to 2.1 but this time all I did was let it charge overnight and when i woke up they were all gone and the home pages all looked like they did when I first got it. I did try turning it off and back on but they are still gone

I don't use the labels on apps so I would prefer icons that are self explanatory (that don't require labels, just images). I was also thinking of using some custom icons I have on my computer. Do I need to resize them? Or will they automatically shrink down to the proper size?

I tried to use the SDK and grab the .apk but my phone is not being recognized. I don't know if that is a 2.1 issue or not, but it worked fine with 1.5.

I've done a search on this, but haven't found the info I've been looking for so I thought I'd start a new thread. Perhaps this is basic for the experts out there, but how do I get the SportsTap & Scoreboard icons which show your favorite teams/schedules/etc? I've installed both apps, but only get the standard icons: <o> for SportsTap and a 3-2 icon for Scoreboard.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone died on me at work tonight. I got in my truck to come home and plugged in my car charger. When I turned on the phone it did the "Connect to pc screen" and I just selected charge only. It has never done this to me before. When I got home I also plugged it into the wall charger and it did the same thing. Also randomly now, the little headset with a microphone icon pops up. I have turned the phone on and off and also pulled the battery but it still does it.
