I figured I would start a thread (by suggestion of Caddyman) for those who create wallpapers or icons that wish to share with the community.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A THREAD FOR REQUESTING ICONS OR WALLPAPERS. USE YOUR OWN ROUTES TO DO SO.
The intention of this thread is for those who wish to contribute to the community of fellow Android users can post their work here.

I have a G1, love it, but it has a wimpy battery as many of us know. I have been wondering if widgets, desktop icons and even the choice of wallpaper, or picture that is used for the desktop background make any real difference in battery life. No matter how I use the phone, the display is always the main or at least major component of battery usage.
I read on an android website that desktop widgets do tax the battery and it was also suggested that having all three desktops full of icons also does so. Lastly, I was thinking that a black desktop ( I took a picture of a piece of black paper ) would use the least battery because the screen is not producing any light. Any input on these things ? If it would give appreciably better battery life, I would black out the desktops as I have done and not have any icons or widgets.
Today, I had the joy to stumble upon one of the numerous Android wonders: LauncherPro. I have played around with it a bit and must admit that a vast array of possibilities has opened to me.
This got me thinking - my girlfriend is an Arts student and can undoubtedly pull out some pretty fancy things on Adobe Illustrator or whatever absurdly overpriced and complex devices and programs they use in this branch. She could design my own little icons
So, could anyone please be kind enough to enlighten me on the format & size of:Normal application icons
Dock icons (slightly smaller I'd assume) HTC Desire Wallpapers And whatever else there is that I can't think of...
e.g. "Well, my dear Lmkt, regular icons are usually 58*74 pixels and should be in jpg or png format."

I looked through the Android Market, and found some, but most were only single background ones that weren't appealing, and had no ratings. View 3 Replies View RelatedI saved some wallpapers/backgrounds from the backgrounds app to my sd card. When I saved them, it said "saved to sd card in backgrounds directory(I think or maybe file?). I spent about 2 hours trying to find it---drained my battery doing it(battery still doing much better though--lasted 12 hours today with very, very heavy usage!).
I did see there are some apps to manage your sd card, but am thinking surely I can access it w/out one?
The only choices allowed for lock screen wallpaper are from my photo album, once I went to a configured theme/scene for the home screen. How can I get the stock wallpaper I use for the theme/scene I have to also be the wallpaper for the lock screen? It seems stuck on the photo I used and the only choices offered in the menu are from the photo album I made.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThis is the second time in the four days I have had the phone that the icons all disappeared and all the original screens have returned the only thing left unchanged was the icon I put a page to turn off the mobile web this is frustrating because I have to drag and drop my icons all over again though I think the first time was right after it upgraded to 2.1 but this time all I did was let it charge overnight and when i woke up they were all gone and the home pages all looked like they did when I first got it. I don't use the labels on apps so I would prefer icons that are self explanatory (that don't require labels, just images). I was also thinking of using some custom icons I have on my computer. I tried to use the SDK and grab the .apk but my phone is not being recognized. I don't know if that is a 2.1 issue or not, but it worked fine with 1.5.

I've done a search on this, but haven't found the info I've been looking for so I thought I'd start a new thread. Perhaps this is basic for the experts out there, but how do I get the SportsTap & Scoreboard icons which show your favorite teams/schedules/etc? I've installed both apps, but only get the standard icons: <o> for SportsTap and a 3-2 icon for Scoreboard.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone died on me at work tonight. I got in my truck to come home and plugged in my car charger. When I turned on the phone it did the "Connect to pc screen" and I just selected charge only. It has never done this to me before. When I got home I also plugged it into the wall charger and it did the same thing. Also randomly now, the little headset with a microphone icon pops up. I have turned the phone on and off and also pulled the battery but it still does it.

1. If I download the above apps, do I loose Sense?
2. If yes to above, is there a way to use these cool icons on the standard UI so I can keep Sense?
