How the heck do you get this thing off of your phone? There is no uninstall option and it was the one i downloaded from the Marketplace. It is horrible and won't let me go to the real facebook website, just keeps taking me to the crappy google touch. any ideas?

I can't access facebook through my phone, unless I navigate using the broswer, which is a pain.
When I try accessing my facebook through contacts, I get an error (phone -> menu -> people -> Updates and events == nothing for me to access). When I use my contact card (phone -> menu -> people -> my contact card -> facebook), the message "Sorry! The application HTC New (process com.htc.htcnew) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I force close, and nothing ends up happening.
And yes, I did sync my phone and sync facebook. I don't want to do a hard factory reset.
So in early May, I got the Android update thing for my Droid Eris. I started it, and it took forever. Ever since then, I can't link my Facebook account to my phone. I've seen a lot of similar situations but nothing exactly the same. I can't link any of my phone contacts to my Facebook contacts. I have the Facebook for HTC Sense and the Facebook app. I can log on and view my Facebook accout, etc but when I go to People my contacts don't have pictures. I've tried to go to menu > settings > account & sync and remove my Facebook for HTC Sense account and manually sync or whatever. Still didn't work. A "force close" message appears every time I try to sync, yet my Google accounts will sync. I've tried going to each contact and manually link them to their Facebook profile but nothing even loads, as in it will say I have no friends to choose from (whomp whomp). I finally gave in and installed that Sync My Pix app but I'm not satisfied. Mainly, because that app saves all the contacts pictures in my photo albums and it doesn't do their status updates, etc. Really, I just don't want an app to make my phone do something it's already suppose to do.

I certainly have a lot more friends on Facebook then I care to have in my phone-book. Is there a site where we can petition this issue?
View 5 Replies View RelatedLike everyone who's updated to 2.1, I'm experiencin the same bugs with Facebook (i.e. all my FB contacts show up in my dialer and my txt msgs). Anyways, I was toolin around in Accounts & Sync under Settings. Right now, the accounts I have set up are Google, Weather, and Facebook for HTC Sense. When I click Add an Account, there's something called just "Facebook," in addition to the "Facebook for HTC Sense."I've always known there were two Facebook apps (or whatever you wanna call them) on my phone, cause when I want to share a pic I take, I can do it using either "Facebook" or "Facebook for HTC Sense." I always share the picture using "Facebook" because it allows me to post a comment as well.Anyways, getting back to Accounts & Sync, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how these two apps differ. Maybe if I choose to sync the "Facebook" account as opposed to "Facebook for HTC Sense," that could solve some of these issues we're all having? I have no idea, but I'm hesitant to do anything for fear of clogging up my phone's contact list with Facebook friends.

My phone memory is around 33% whereas my husband's memory is 64%! He has very few contacts and I'm wondering if the syncing with Facebook is taking up all my phone memory (vs SD Card memory which is fine).

Facebook for HTC Sense is a POS. We all know that. But what is killing me is that I can set up a "sync" my HTC Eris with Fb for HTC Sense (that doesnt actually sync) but not for the standard Facebook app.
The HTC Sense Facebook App does a terrible job of syncing contacts w/ the phone, so I am trying to do it thru the Facebook for Android App.
I) Should I just keep on trying with the HTC App even tho its not fully working or syncing?
When I go to Menu> Settings> Accounts&sync>Add account (after removing sycing w/ FB for HTC Sense) I can add an account for: Facebook -or- Facebook for HTC Sense.
But, when I try to click on Facebook, nothing happens. Fb for HTC still works and I can add the account to that, but I wont get the contacts again. (I think).
II) What is going on w/ my Facebook for Android app? (I have updated it, too).
As it says in the title, friendstream refuses to sync at all with facebook. It syncs to twitter just fine, however. Any fixes for this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Droid Eris. Before the 2.1 update, I just had Facebook sync, but afterwards, it was synced with Facebook for HTC Sense. My problem is that it won't let me sync with just Facebook.I still want my contacts to sync with my phone, because I like the facebook pictures on there. Personally, I like Facebook sync better, because I don't like having all my Facebook contacts on my phone, because the numbers show up twice (number that I have on my phone plus the number that my friends have on Facebook).To prevent that from happening, I would rather have my phone connected to Facebook only and not Facebook for HTC Sense.I thought I could do it, but it won't let me even click on Facebook--like, nothing pops up or anything.I wasn't sure if it was my phone, so I took my dad's Eris and tried to do the same, it works fine on his phone, but I can't get mine to do sync with facebook whatsoever. View 5 Replies View RelatedWith 1.5 I was able to go to the full facebook site and do the facebook chat thing at the bottom right (though it didn't often work very well). now with 2.1 i am having trouble with this. the little chat window/bar only seems to show up when i zoom all the way out, and then it kind of disappears when i try and touch it or zoom in.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore I upgraded to 2.1 OTA, my contacts had no problem syncing with Facebook (both manual and automatic). Here is what happens: I go to a contact, find the bar that says "Link to Facebook" or whatever it says, click it, then type in the name of the person to search Facebook friends, but no matter what I do it says that there are no matches. No one else has reported this problem, so I'm guessing it isn't a problem inherent to 2.1. Could you guys provide some input as to what I need to do to fix this?

I see some pretty good improvements over 1.5, but now I've installed the latest update of the 'official' face book app, and the Face book widget no longer works! View 12 Replies View RelatedLast night I noticed that the Facebook Widget displayed a message "update not available". If you clicked the "F" to go to your profile, newsfeed that worked. However the newsfeed that pushes to the widget stopped. I haven't changed my settings and everything else is updating regularly. I removed the widget, replaced it and it just shows up blank and the "F" no longer hot links. However, from the same program, I can add the shortcut to Facebook and that works.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just set up my Droid Eris to sync my contacts with their Facebook profile so that their photos would show up in my contacts. I synced them all and them matched up properly, but their pictures are not aligned properly. When I first did it, their faces were aligned and everything looked ok, except some pictures were pretty pixelated. But after a few minutes, the pixelation went away and the quality of the pictures was better, except a lot of my contacts have their head not in the photo or just misaligned. More than half are off.I thought at first it was that they didn't set up their picture properly on Facebook, but I looked at their mini pictures (like the ones that show up in the news feed) and their faces were showing up properly. Even their mini pictures on the facebook app are correct. And these seem to be the same size as the pics in my contacts.Why is it that my contacts photos aren't aligned right on some of them and how can I fix this?

I have facebook synced up to my contacts so that their fb pics can also be their contact photo, except they only show up half the time. is anyone else having this problem? it was sorta annoying before but now it's really bothering me because I just DL'd the handcent update and now they have the contact pics next to the chat bubble. Is there anyway to keep the pics on there at all times or any reason they go away?
