Are their any options for any form of external full-sized keyboard for the Eris? It'd be nice to have just one electronic device to bring to school to take notes on. Oh, I don't know if this matters, but I'm still on 1.5.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am new in Android and i am working to make an on-screen keyboard which can be visitable via arrow(direction) keys of my external keyboard. I mean i wanna move left, right, up and down in the on-screen keyboard's UI (keys) with pressing arrow keys from my external(hardware) keyboard. The key that cursor is on should be focused, when i press an arrow key from my external keyboard the focused key should change and when i press "enter" from my external keyboard it should be operated.(written to the screen etc.) How can i make this? Is there any idea? How can i make virtual keyboard's keys visitable? It doesn't look like moving around a matrix of buttons.

I'm getting the G1 next weekend and am wondering how long until a virtual keyboard will be available. I really like the idea of having a full slide-out keyboard but I would also like a virtual one so if I'm not wanting to say much I can just use the virtual keyboard or if I'm in an area where it needs to be quiet I don't need to have the sound of the keyboard sliding open.

View 8 Replies View RelatedFriend of mine told me today that ones of his co-workers have their phone set-up where it is bluetooth connected to his laptop, His laptop is connected to his home television which makes the tv act as his monitor, then he uses his android phone as the wireless keyboard and trackball for the mouse. He wasn't sure what phone exactly he had, or what app he was using.
My questions are. Is this possible with the eris? If so, is there a specific app you need to get? I know that the Eris doesn't do data over bluetooth, so I don't know if this is something that won't work now, but may work with an upgrade to 2.x. This is something that I would be interested in doing.
I can't get the SlideIT to work on my HTC droid eris. Does it even work on 1.5 or do I need to have 2.1 for it to work?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone unlocked in my pocket I have a droid eris btw. I also have the lockpattern where you connect he dots set up.
In my pocket it did the wrong lock pattern five times and now it is asking me to put my email and password in to unlock it. The problEm is that the keyboard does not come up even when I hold menu.
I'm trying to upload photos from the phone to my macbook. After uploading several pics to "my T-mobile album" and after emailing them to myself, I notice the pictures are pretty small, 480x360.. no where near what I expected from 5 megapixels (and yes, I have the option set at 5mp). What can I do to take larger sized pictures?
Possibly unrelated, I use the stock USB cable to plug in the phone. The phone will charge, but my Macbook does not recognize anything as being plugged in, so I cannot manually browse around to upload my photos. What gives?
I actually was loving Launcher Pro on my Droid, but after I got my DX yesterday and installed it, I got really frustrated with it all last night. It took away the ability to resize the widgets....something I was really excited about. I also couldn't tell that I could any longer set up pictures of my contacts for direct dial or just as a contact and see the options once I touch the picture. So I bought the full blown version and I'm still not convinced. I want to resize my widgets. Since the Moto Blur (or whatever you want to call it) actually is customizable somewhat, and has the phone and contact pictures at the bottom of all screens, plus gives you the option to choose which screen to go to, I decided to go with that for a while. Since I own LP now, I may go back. I just got really frustrated. Anybody know when and if LP will allow the widgets to be re-sized?

View 4 Replies View RelatedFrom what information I can gather from the web, android browser shortcuts are comprised of MENU + X combinations. Is there an equivalent for the Eris? I do not see how this works given the lack of a real keyboard. To open the keyboard take a separate action and when holding MENU to then click the appropriate letter, all you get is the menu.

View 33 Replies View RelatedI think the standard battery is 1100mAh (1.1 amps at 3.7V for one hour), which is generally good enough for me, but there have been a few times on travel when an extended battery would have been useful. USB provides 5 (FIVE) volts to the unit, which is regulated down to charge the internal 3.7V single lithium cell. It should be trivial to build a battery pack to recharge any product that is so powered. But you cannot use external lithium because that would also be 3.7V.
I'm thinking of NiMH (nickel metal hydride), each cell of which provides 1.2VDC. Four cells in series would be 4.8V, and there are now 3000mAh (three amp!) AA cells out there, so NiMH AA cells should more than triple battery life for the Eris. Of course, you could use five such cells to get 6.0VDC, then regulate down to 5, but that would add complexity. I didn't find any posts on building such a thing, and wonder if anyone's done it.

The touch screen is just not usable for data input. I used to own an HP Palmtop and the external folding keyboard made it an excellent choice. Why no such connection for an Android phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHere's something I haven't seen addressed before. If I am looking up an address on my phone (2.1 leak v3), there is no way to see the full address. Even in edit mode, I would have to maneuver just to see the whole address.
Am I missing something, or is there some kind of a fix?? I noticed the same issue with 1.5 and hoped that the 2.1 would fix this.
Getting memory low warning on my Eris. Available space on internal storage is only 28MB. Available space on SD card is 7,506 MB out of total space of 7,572 MB. So, I guess the only thing on the SD card is the pics I took.What can I move to the SD card, and how do I go about doing that? I would think just moving all the Market Apps to the SD side would solve my problems. Any help out there?

It doesn't always ring at max volume but maybe 1 out of 3 times. Does anyone else have this problem? I have 2.1 second leak installed.
I reset all my data before installing the leak. Anyway to fix this? Aside from this I have no other problems with 2.1.
